I have listened to Michael Fehur several years back and suggested this to many people. How are we doing in 2023?

financialisation of our economies is steadily and surely destroying our civilisation.

There's a lot to chew on, there. Sure agree at the household/individual level, but haven't thought about it at the civilization level. But hmm... if you destroy the families and individuals of a civilization, I guess you destroy the civilization. All I know is I've avoided debt all my life, and know I've saved myself a ton of grief and money.

Right at the end he says: "... [all of this ] might precipitate the next war." Well, I agree with Candide below; but the title issue is never addressed.

Hes correct, correct, correct. And many think this is as it should be. In DC, our city credit worthiness is A plus, but young black kids still can be caught in a gun battle.

Self depreceation is pretty close to euphemism used to cover suicide among young people. And those have close correlation. Halfway of this very good lecture. But then hypocritically also almost all european countries then pressure some way to make more babies, when they pushed people out of job market effectively, and out of normal life. US has much less of this issue, though some, but for "normal" urbanization and other not similar reasons as in europe.
