Hey Professor, Jesus Crack is literally a reference to one of his fiends. He posted a picture of him the other day. Westside has a deep connection with his fiends. Just like when he used Claire as the album cover of WWCD. It feels like it keeps him grounded and keeps him connected to where he came from.

“I went Bobby on the Digital” is a reference to RZA of the Wu-tang clan. RZA has an alter ego, with a wilder personality who’s name is Bobby Digital
@utm0st2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm sure he knows but still, what does the line mean?
@evanstonhost2 жыл бұрын
@@utm0st it could be like "bobby Boucher" aka the water boy, on "the digital" i.e. the digital scale, so he went hard on the using it so much. or he hit the scale hard like bobby Boucher. but ALSO the next line is "I got the W" meaning "I got the win" or "I'm winning" and is a reference to a Wu-tang album produced by the RZA

I think his production choice does have a lot to do with his albums being so dope. Me n my boy were talking and compared his rapping n production to an artist throwing buckets of paint on a canvas but creating dope art by doing that. Where as Benny n Conway our more fine brush strokes. It’s an organized madness. I’m from Buffalo and literally only seen your video on Kendrick’s Steppers album (which was amazing) so idk kinda cool to find out you a wny native!! Keep up the great videos.

@@Kabullo76 you entitled to your own opinion bro. Are they average cuz it’s just the sample?? Is it average cuz it’s a simple loop?? No drums??
@Kabullo762 жыл бұрын
@@keelowiththesteelo233 It is not the lack of drums, Roc Marciano can be considered the godfather of this style and yet his records are not as predictable as the latest Griselda releases. The samples and loops are not as terrible but not as exciting as you might think from Professor Skye's review (this is where personal tastes come into play I realize) .Even Madlib who is my favorite producer managed to disappoint me on this record, when at the time of Flygod is an awesome god West he declared that he was working on gunnlib I was impatient, today looking at the Griselda productions of the last 2 years I think I can easily do without it, sorry for the pessimism but that's what I think
@keelowiththesteelo2332 жыл бұрын
@@Kabullo76 Madlib snapped on horses on sunset. That beat is beautiful, would’ve been a perfect Griselda beat and could’ve easily had Conway and Benny on that. I think Griselda samples and loops be better than Roc Marci to me. I guess I prefer the dusty, unmastered, drum less, distorted sample loops. The beats on this tape was really good to me and I hope his actual LP come out we get more Don C on there

Estee Nack is one of the best in this coke rap wave , adds his own psychedelic touch to it as well. Projects to start with id say are Triple Black Diamonds, Minimansiondust 1 + 4 Papitas and BALLADS due to being on streaming.
