Tribe (with Bruce Parry)
Former Royal Marine officer and expedition leader Bruce Parry, sheds the trappings of a western existence and lives alongside tribes, such as the forest people of central Gabon, adopting their methods and practices. Taking adventure into a whole new realm, Parry dares to go where other presenters fear to tread: hunting, cooking and eating like a native and even trying the local recreational and ritualistic poisons. He also examines the way in which western influence is encroaching on these remote areas and asks whether this is a good thing.
Welcome to Earth Unplugged! We make films about the incredible natural world, we investigate the conundrums, quirks and beautiful science of our amazing planet, delving into the BBC vaults and mixing it up with our own stuff to take a brand new look at Earth.

Everyone in comments saying its a hard life. Too me packing, riding, milking, etc. seems easier than working a 12 hour shift in manual labor job. And they have good meat, milk, airag for fuel too

Easily said sat on a sofa in a centrally heated apartment with a refrigerator, bed and running water. Theres a reason most people gave up this life and settled.

@@arnaubasulto4448life expectancy is probably alright anyways but even if it were a little lower, would you prefer a longer depressive unfulfilling life or a slightly shorter happy fulfilling life

Nomadic society is noticeably less authoritarian than sedentary society - yes, even modern ones with their surveillance technology and the need to record everything about your life. Tech enthusiasts think we will find the "meaning to life" on Mars. It's been 264 years since the Industrial Revolution began and I feel like we haven't come any closer to a new grand understanding about humanity. Let's face it - We're just cogs in the machine. It seems like with the story of Cain and Abel the Bible implicitly endorses nomadism.

It's Amazing to think that people have been living like this for potential thousands of years. Doing the same thing every year.

This must be an amazing life experience. And, I bet for them, it's mundane and they dream of lights and cities. Odd how perspective can change you.

I live in an RV and travel full time. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm having the time of my life. It's not the same as this, but as nomadic as we can get in the US.

This is outrages, these people should be slaving their lives away and paying tax 😡 they also need security so should allow us to track them and have their names on a file. (Sarcasm)

Don't compare the nomadic life of Mongolians with slavery. Mongolians are a people who have never been hungry and tired in their history. You are making a big mistake. We have a large area with a small population, so we don't need protection, we live close to wildlife and healthy grasses.
