I found a similar phenomenon during a tour around Vietnam. Up in the north right out in the sticks, it was almost medieval. People tended to own nothing more than a 2 room hut on a couple of acres of land, with a pig a few chickens, and they were all happy waving and smiling and seemed very happy and contented with their lot.

I strongly disagree about being unable to buy happiness, unless your definition of happiness is some completely unobtainable La-La Land insanity of course. All I would need is enough money to pack in work, then I could spend my time doing things I like rather the daily tedium of work life that is arbitrarily forced on everybody.
@Shaft05 жыл бұрын
Because you have that understanding already. Other people, who for their own reasons don't yet have that understanding, aren't guaranteed to have it via money. Especially if they're convinced that merely throwing more money at their problems will solve their unhappiness.

Totally agree. Happiness for me would be not working, but that isn’t an option because I was born into this Capitalist shit hole of a planet, so I have to work, otherwise I’ll starve and die. 40 hour work weeks where you might actually have about 5 hours of work to do each day but you’re forced to stay the whole 8 hours because that’s how this stupid fucking society has been shaped. What a life eh? Bring on universal basic income I say
