My Daddy always made us sing along in the car when this song came on the radio. Such a great memory! We had a sing-along to it at his funeral. He loved The Oak Ridge Boys. Everyone else at the funeral looked at us kids like we were nuts, but we know that Dad would have loved it!

Oh no…. I saw him in concert had front row seat. He came up to me and shook my hand several times along with the other members. He was such a nice man the whole group was and they played their number one hit songs! They ended the concert singing “Elvira.” In fact we were the last ones out because we were so close to the stage I was able to set my phone up on the stage while I was dancing and swaying back & forth to their music! They came out after the concert & talked to us the lead singer to Exile who is best know for the hit song "I Want To Kiss You All Over" is married to the lead singer of The Oak Ridge Boys so we also got their autograph! I was so close I got great pictures too! What a great loss to Classic Country Music. It seems like we are losing all the Great Ones.😭😭😭I remember he came over to me several times shook my hand and I wouldn’t let go and he just smiled at me waiting patiently while everyone else was getting annoyed because they had to wait for me to let go of his hand. Awe....now this really makes me cry as it was stated about Joe Bonsall "But JESUS and his family always came first-and we will see him again on the Promised Day.” Believe me I saw him in concert up close you could "see" Jesus in him! You really could!

Saw them live a year ago. They close the show with this song, after 42 years it still rocks the house. They're all nearing their 80's (William Lee Golden is 83) just not sure how many years of touring they have left. Great people, all of them.

Richard's lost a little bit of his lowest range, comes out a bit gravelly. But at 75 he's still got it in spades! Hard to believe these guys have been together for 45 years and that doesn't include the 8 years (1987-1995) that William Lee left the group. Tenor Joe Bonsall is 70 and joined the Oaks in 1973. Bass Richard Sterban joined in 1972 and Lead Duane Allen joined in 1966 - they're both 75 and baritone William Lee Golden, who joined in 1965, will celebrate his 80th birthday on January 12, 2019 and four days later they start touring again. What an amazing group (and, to be honest, it's really cool they're focusing on their Gospel roots once again).

Not many in mainstream realize these dudes were on tbe same circuit as The CATHEDRAL Quartet, but the Oaks were a Gospel group at their outset. That's why you see this listed "Gaither VEVO". Bill knows his music history. Yes, they crossed to Country mainstream, but so did the Statlers. Neither group forgot where they started. God Bless Joe's family. He's one of the greats.

The Oaks are legendary. Check out some of the old Elvis gospel and see Richard Sturben guesting along with JD Sumner doing bass. Richard, JD, and George Younts.... The Gold Standards of bass singers.

I love this song so much! When I was a baby and would cry my daddy would sing this song and I would hush crying like magic they said. My father had a deep voice and he could make it sound so good to me all the way till I got to be a big girl. I love gospel music but this was great to hear them sing this song! God bless and thanks

I don’t know, except that I just love “Elvira” and it’s a great song. Between Joe singing as only he can sing and Richard singing “Oom-papa-papa. Oom-papa-papa-mao-mao”, OMG! I just about die! 😛😛😛😛

I could listen to that song for hours, over and over. It never gets old. Oom-papa-mow-mow are the four greatest non words in music history. Music is one of God's 2 languages. Touches everyone. Gonna listen to it again right now.
