Kaya's inability to seperate an actor from a character is pretty concerning. Honestly, the actor is doing a good job with what he's been given so far. It's not like the actor decided Bran would become an emotionless cripple, it's what he was told by the writers. The episode sucked ass but it had absolutely nothing to do with the people reading their scripts.

It's because Bran is supposed to be an emotionless husk essentially, the kid literally knows everything to the point where nothing matters to him. Sandor “the Hound” Clegane why is it a show with seasons if they are not separated in some way? You should be able to jump into a TV show and have an understanding of what is happening. Look to End Game where I know a multitude of people who watched little of the MCU and still understand the what is happening and what the characters drives are. They probably won’t understand all the little call backs but it is still an enjoyable experience, and now compare that to season 8 where it is a complete mess of writing and direction (cavalry charges first and trebuchets outside defenses)

I agree with you for the most part about bran, but he’s the one who gave Arya the dagger and that wasn’t an accident given that he can see the possibilities in the future. I wish the writers had done more with bran in this episode and they’ve written his character to be completely detached from reality but I agree with Jackson that it isn’t executed well enough to be impactful in the way it could be. Edit: also I offer a counterpoint in response to the idea that the night king should be the climax of the whole show: what makes game of thrones great is the characters, their relationships, and the politics of the realm. The night king, having no personality, moral ambiguity, and relationship with any of the characters allowed us as viewers to sort the characters into two bins: those who could overcome their differences to confront their seemingly inevitable doom and those who couldn’t. This sets up obviously for a final conflict that is much more character oriented, but also presents the opportunity for our ideas of good and evil to be challenged by potential fracturing within the “good” faction. Episode 3 was disappointing on its own, but if the next three episodes offer compelling conflict and tension between the characters then hopefully it’ll be worth it.

Already know Charlie is gonna talk some nonsense just by him saying the beginning was pitch black. The darkness was fine until the whole swarm jumped on them and at that point it was hard to tell, but i feel thats the point. You don't have a bunch of extras run past the camera just because, its the same as the Battle of the Bastards, when Jon is standing between all the horses rushing past him and then you can hardly tell whats going on. And having rewatched it, when my resolution was like 480p cause my internet is ass, it was far harder to see things because it was just muddy blobs, but on the premier day when my connection was stable, regardless of it being dark we could all clearly see what was going on. They're probably gonna talk about Arya killing the NK, the library scene shows she is able to move silently, like an assassin, then when she runs at the NK, you see when it shows a WW that his hair blows by and he wasn't able to react quickly.

Agreed. 1)Darkness/confusion is how it would be if you were there 2)CGI/stunts would cost millions of dollars more in broad daylight
@BapiBoozle5 жыл бұрын
@@kylez9094 It's a battle between light and darkness, hence why when the Dothraki charge, even if it was kinda dumb, you mainly just see a swarm of blackness going towards them and they are engulfed by the darkness. I'm not necessarily bothered by the tactical problems as much as others, because i feel like you wouldn't really know what to do against an army of dead if you had to lead a bunch of people, you wouldn't know the tactics they'd use, and the viewer and characters alike didn't expect a literal wave of undead to rush them like that. It was a goof way of showing that this army we've seen come in and wipe a bunch of people before couldn't handle this new threat.
@eFRapidfire5 жыл бұрын
Arya killing the NK was such a fucking let down, nevermind the fact she shouldn't have been able to get there in the first place. If you want to say the "stealthy" scene (where a single drop of blood alerted the wights) set it up, then fine. But Arya found out about the WWs like 2 episodes ago. The NK is completely disconnected from her plotline. Even if you're fine with that, whatever. But the NK dying at the battle of Winterfell and the wights being defeated is a complete gutting of the core theme of the show. The "game of thrones" doesn't matter, the politics, backstabbing etc none of it matters. The only thing that matters is the battle between life and death. That is what asoiaf is about. The show just completely discarded that, and decided to go back to the irrelevant throne conflict. It's terrible writing.

The episode was great I'm my opinion. You have to understand the underlying symbolism to understand it. The blowing snow being a metaphor for death, and more. The whole episode was set into thirds.

With s8e3 Game of Thrones completely missed the point of its own story. It's not just bad writing, it's like the writers never even watched their own show.
@mgtowmaghrebin74915 жыл бұрын
Of course they don't. The actor that played Stannis said outright in an interview that he has no idea what's happening outside of his character, and even to his character. Nobody cares about that story. They don't care about telling a story that makes sense and that's deep, it's just a mass phenomenon meant to spark a maximum of memes and viral marketing. I bet they even did this on purpose just to piss off the people that care and make them talk about the show.

It doesn't make more sense for Hawkeye to die. The whole reason he came back to fight was to see his family again. He should of just accepted that Black Widow had to do it and been grateful she was giving her life to save his family. Also she has no one outside the Avengers so why not let her make the sacrifice, could of been a better goodbye for her and a decent scene for showing their relationship but instead it was nonsensical and obvious.
