It's such a nice plugin. I've been sleeping on it for a while until Dom did a video on it on the official Cubase channel a few months back. Been using it way more ever since.

Good video and I hope to use this one more versus the typical chain and other plugins.

I like your instruction on this plugin. I have been using Melodyne, an SSL vocal processor and usually an IK version of Pultec EQ.

As Cubase has added and improved its plugs, I’m using them more often instead of my trusty UA emulations. I’m not a plug snob - if something sounds great, I don’t care what it costs!

I like it, but i wish (like with all the stock plugins) that it was resizeable, the gui is very small on my screens.

Very illustrative video, Chris! I purchased the upgrade to 13 months ago, but still not installed it, can you imagine? I wanted to finalize some unfinished things in 12 before I mess with the new one. I wonder if there is a way to listen to the effects in solo, like using the listen button in channels in Control Room.

I honestly don't know why, but I've been creating pretty much that exact chain as separate plugins and eating CPU. Right, time to give it a go! 🧡

Thanks for the great video! How do you do with the vocals for overdubs, harmonies and choirs? A simpler effects chain I guess and not this plugin on every track!?

Is it possible to take few online classes on mixing vocal from you?? Please answer 🙏🙏🙏🙏😭

I went back to cubase 12 (cubase 13 works less performant) - a pitty that I cannot use this one plugin. With StudioRack there also good chains available. What I like with the cubase plugin iit is a kind of a checklist.
@mhb4502 ай бұрын
I mix as I track. I usually start with a omni channel (filter, de-ess, eq, compression, saturation, limiter) then a Waves MC2, and often a slap back delay as insert. I have a send to a plate and right channel only delay. I may or may not change modules when I am more in mix mode, but it’s close to my final signal chain. I tried to use Vocal Chain to do the same role and what i noticed was a huge increase in DSP usage for the same type of processing. Disappointing. As well, because I have used that signal chain for years now, I can make adjustments quick and effectively. With this new plugin it takes me more time, though that could improve with time. I know I can replace my “tracking” chain for a mix chain that includes the Steinberg Vocal plugin, but….i would be inefficient at best.

I have Cubase Pro 10.5 can you buy this plugin anywhere or do you have to have 13 ?
@nicok56302 ай бұрын
I love Cubase, pro user, but honestly the vocal chain pales in comparison to UAD Topline plugin. It’s so much more visual to adjust, and just sounds great. Would be interesting to see a comparison if someone’s up for putting the hours in !

Technically it's 16 plugins 😉. The 2nd harmonic in the vocal is overpowering the fundamental and should be tamed a lot more. It's too high IMO. Maybe Steinberg will implement some of their spectral processing and add a "smoother" in the chain.
@mixdownonline2 ай бұрын
16 processors, but still in one plugin 🙂
@pnutbuttajellee13942 ай бұрын
@@mixdownonline OFFICIALLY, one, but it just stacks more than 16, TECHNICALLY, separate plugin slots, including the sub options for compressors and EQs...so very flexible, but can be just as overwhelming as a whole stack of inserts. Just a little easier to use.
@mixdownonline2 ай бұрын
@@pnutbuttajellee1394 For sure, one plugin , but it doesn't mean less mixing work, like you said, just a little easier, and maybe quicker since it's all in front of you. There's pros and cons :-)
