I learned that we worry about things based on our past experiences (and even our parents and ancestors' experiences as they are stored in our memory through DNA). The solution, which I need to remind myself of, is to have a better relationship with your imagination than with your memory, to believe that things will turn out ok and to only remember the past as a lesson for the future. It helps to identify where that worry comes from based on our past experiences. It also helps when I tell myself: I trust myself to handle this. I know more things now than I did in the past.

Another great video! Love the topic! My best advice is get Prepared and get Organized. This can mean various things like: Creating an emergency fund, Creating a budget, Stocking up on essentials, Getting various types of insurances, Deciding with friends and family who will do what in case something happens. Those are some examples. You have to get your self from the mind set of "What am i going to do if XYZ happens" to "I'm prepared if XYZ happens" Now I'm not saying this is the end all be all to solving for everything but it is an excellent start. What does everyone think of what I said. What other idea's to you all have in regards to this topic?

Saw a great video on stopping brain worry loops: Ask yourself two questions: 1) Are my thoughts useful? 2) Are my thoughts behaving themselves? - This is where the advice gets interesting, just keep asking yourself those two questions, over and over again (like a mantra), and your brain will quiet itself. * It actually works. * I wondered if we were giving our mind permission to quit worrying? I think that might be why it works.

Love your videos, Dawn. My biggest worry is my diabetes…my sugar has been high lately. I take Metformin for it, but my sugar still climbs higher. I’m starting to walk more and eat better, so I’m hoping that will help. Doing something about the diabetes, taking action does help calm the worry more. I’m also working with my doctor to get healthier. Even though I’m type 2 diabetic, I have the biggest problem with sweets….I still love to eat them, hehe, even though I know I shouldn’t. Doc actually said I could have a sweet treat every once in a while, but I eat them more often than I should.
@3TXSisters6 ай бұрын
It's good to know what you can eat that won't spike your glucose levels. Dark chocolate seems to be better than milk chocolate for me. It could be that I don't like it as much so I don't eat as much. I'm also better with cake-like sweets rather than candy. Eliminating sweets would be best of all, but we need a little treat every now and then. You may check to see if carbs are elevating your levels. Sourdough bread seems to be better for diabetics. Exercise is key, too. Good luck! Take care, Linda 🦋

The candy you eat is doing it! You are your worst enemy and there is no hehe appropriate here. I could give you the best advice in the world, but you aren't ready to help yourself. My mother was a raging diabetic and the worst thing the doctor told her was that she could sometimes have an ice cream. Guess what she did? She rationalized as many ice creams as she wanted, which were many. "The doctor said I could have ice cream..." Your diabetes doesn't respond well to candy, so why do you eat it? Hehe.... Oh if I was there with you in person I would set you straight.

I've learned as a bible believer to do some praying. I know I'm supposed to "pray without ceasing," anyway, I Thessalonians 5:17 KJV. "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus," Philippians 4:6-8 KJV. I do that and usually get out and take a walk, lol.
