War Thunder is a highly detailed vehicle combat game containing over 2000 playable tanks, aircrafts and ships spanning over 100 years of development. Immerse yourself completely in dynamic battles with an unparalleled combination of realism and approachability.
The Khalil family seems to have been stealing a lot of money that was supposed to be going to the Open Hand foundation. It also appears as though The Completionist has been keeping the bits, subs, merch profits etc that were supposed to go to the Open Hand foundation.

If you go back like 6 years…when KZbin was changing its algorithm, Jirard complained in almost every video about not making enough money. Hot take. Scamming with a charity is probably the most ethical type of scam if we're going to rank such a thing. A bunch of scams involve stealing money from people who can't afford to lose anything such as retired folks who lose thousands of dollars to "Microsoft tech support". Taking people's money for a charity without actually donating the money to a charity is taking money away from people who can't afford to lose it at least.

A lot of people are focusing on how disgusting it is to steal from a charity and rightfully so. But for me as someone who was raised by their grandmother and lost her to Alzheimer’s, it is far more grotesque to me that they have been stealing from the kindness of strangers in their deceased mother’s name. It’s one thing to rationalize stealing from strangers, plenty of criminals do that. But to do it in the name of the one you loved and lost is a special type of evil

Well at best they can claim criminal negligence, at worst literal embellishment. Best case for them is they're terrible accountants and they've been too lazy to find a way to donate the money. This one still looks incredibly bad though as Jirard claims he knew the money hadn't gone anywhere for over a year and didn't do anything about it himself. The worst case is that money may not actually even exist and they pocketed all of it. We don't actually have any proof the money is in the bank account like they claim and at most we just have their personal filing and Jirard claiming he knew it was just sitting in an account. It could just be them pushing the problem away or hiding away till they can find money to replace it.

@@Skylancer727 Not quite. If they spent the money that they got through a charity filing, they passed around the tax man on the way. He really does not like that. Especially when its clearly a plan set up to do it and not some strange accident or failure to understand the law. Tax evasion is the most serious of the crimes listed, and the most likely to be prosecuted to the fullest extent. Negligence, fraud, misrepresenting yourself as helping the less fortunate? That's all well and good as far as crime and punishment goes but not paying your taxes? That's a line you cant cross. Despite not being able to nail Al Capone on the violent criminal charges, they got him for tax evasion because of unclaimed wealth he had and it was enough to put him away for the rest of his life.
@Skylancer727
@Skylancer727 6 ай бұрын
@booradley6832 I think people way under estimate how many people get away with tax evasion for decades. As long as the numbers are reported in a way that doesn't stand out noticeablely they could easily get away with it. Al Capone as you said was charged with tax fraud from his illegitimate business. Even if your business is illegal its still by law requires to pay taxes. But he ran that business for 16 years till being charged. Even Trump is just now being charged with filing reports on the values of his properties inaccurately even though he's been doing so for over 20 years. I mean he was even reporting Trump Tower as being a whole floor higher since it was first established and that was even in the news back then. The government doesn't know everything.

Hi Karl. I am an accountant and i think your approach to this as a non accountant has been very fair. I have audited charities before and we identify materiality very low for charities. That means we do a lot of testing. In cases where cash receipts from doner's are material we will qualify our audit reports. Im very interested in whether the auditors qualified their report. A cash balance of R600k is clearly material. So i would love to know what their Annual Financial Statements (AFS) say. Based on their AFS and its auditor's report, even the auditors may be in trouble

It gets even worse if you look into his dad's business endeavors/filings. From how shady BPD West is, the changing of the company desription and website info constantly, and how much of a sham/shell company it clearly is, I believe the charity is used as a tax break for his family. They would funnel it out from Open Hand by putting themselves as payroll executives and drain it over time as retirement wages, under the radar when no one paid attention. BPD West is classified as a "Delaware Company", meaning BPD doesn't pay income tax. This is common for shell companies. BPD's claims of services and inventions are laughable and completely false (cigarette rack holder? Seriously?). They provide no service and no merchandise, so what *Do* they do? The name "Open Hand" was chosen on purpose to muddy waters, as people would confuse it for "Project Open Hand", a legitimate charity donating to UCSF. Jirard and his family have setup an entire charity fraud scam from top to bottom, years in the making.

Just saw the response video, and that triggered a thought. Jirad claims that they changed from private foundation to public charity in 2016, which does change some donation rules, but between 2014 and 2016 as a private foundation they were required to donate a minimum of 5% of the foundation's value every year in a rolling average throughout each year. Governmental documents make my eyes bleed, but my folks put together a private foundation from my grandparents wealth after they passed and that's been one of my folks discussions every year, making sure they have kept above that minimum. And after that, public charities usually have disbursement minimums but I am unaware of what they are.

That was in the very first video. This new stuff with the golf tournament, and their books not balancing makes this even more worse. And even if you're waiting to here Jirards "side," what excuse could there possibly even be for the above? No - Did it take the internet outing him for him to donate the funds? Yes - Would he have donated the funds eventually had he not been outed? We'll never know - if he had not been outed would he have kept raising funds, whilst insisting it was being donated, whilst it was sitting in his coffers? Previous behaviour indicates, he would continue this behaviour. They are the facts, everything else is technical mumbo jumbo and/or lawyer speak. Its the reason New Game Plus was made because its done to go back over all the games that were wiped from the Completionist backlog as Greg was the one to request having all the vids taken down and Jirard at the time respected that request but it made Greg look like a total controlling a**hole given Jirard at the time was one of the best people you could meet. To make up for that Jirard promised he would go back over all games which is why the New Game Plus series happened Ironically Shovel Knight was the second to last game of that promise the next game after that was going to be the last one him and Greg covered before there unceremonious break up. Sour feelings towards Greg have all but dried up by this point and even if there was any now with this controversy its starting to paint the picture that Greg was in the right. Ironic really he goes back over the series he went with him and we came back to the end only to re go back over it, and find out that Jirard is not who he seems. I am only saddened at it, to go against someone who you saw as a friend because they were stabbing you in the back...Betrayal is a [EXPLETIVE]... I don't think this will play out like Billy Mitchell Jirard is much more perceptive then that as such this is going to be a long drawn out battle of attrition where something on Jirard's end will have to give but it wont do it quickly, it will be painful and slow for both parties...

Stereotypes exist for a reason and humans are creatures of habit, it's not hard to read between the lines if you're familiar with what you're seeing. I picked up on some unsavory vibes from Jirard years ago, just some noted oddities and a peculiar seeming lack of genuineness, and that never changed, I'm really not surprised that he has skeletons in the closet, I'm not surprised his issues are ongoing, and further it doesn't surprise me that it's a family affair. I wouldn't be surprised if a decent portion of the missing money funded his channel's purchases, especially the big ticket ones, and I wouldn't be surprised if the family wanted a bag, especially after Jirard later found any amount of success as a content creator, then unsurprisingly the missing money ended up being hidden by that very channel's own charity drive; it all seems cyclical yet it's a downhill spiral. And unsurprisingly Jirard panics when called out and doesn't have the balls to face his own issues or the situation at hand. Let's hope he gets prison without bail, let's watch him complete jail, being bubba's cellmate and all. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if Jirard was already looking for a way out, while his content could remain infinite, a lot of the sources of what he can do have been drying up, and I wouldn't be surprised if his golden parachute was going to be selling off his Nintendo eShop collection, among other big ticket items, charity fraud and theft aside. The panic displayed in the call is indicative of being caught before he had his exit, afraid of the loss that's to come, especially with asset seizure as he probably has no liquid assets. This case could become very interesting to watch, depending on how much missing money there actually is, especially with the scope of the situation, though I won't be surprised if the government takes their sweet time to actually do something.

To the people running here screaming about Karl being sued post the response i have a quick question. lawsuit for what exactly? Nothing in these videos were defamatory, as well since Jirard is a public figure his level of defamation is not a low bar, he has to prove actual malice, which good luck on that given the Jirard basically implicated himself already in the call with Karl and OridnaryGamers. As for the advertisement, people are allowed to make money off their work, his previous video was not monetized. The fact that a video has monetization does not discount from the information being given, its a cheap excuse at best. If you want to like Jirard go ahead but running to this video trying to white knight someone who has committed wrongdoing is not helpful to anyone, it allows for people who commit such acts to think they can get away with criminal acts in the future. Should Hbomberguy have stepped aside to allow James Somerton more time to commit more plagiarism or should the enitre cast of Sad milk stood on the side lines when Blaire committed her acts on human decency? The thought process is ridiculous at best and disgusting to morals at worst.

They were all proud and responsible and dedicated to their causes. One of those organizations had local political enemies that got them audited and inspected every few years, but no fault was ever found. Had another charity hire their friends at outrageous prices, like paying a friend 2k a month to just host their website and then another 300 to update a single page. Non profits, and other charity entities are all a huge business for those who run them. Even when ran "legitimately" they pocket a load of money each year. With CEOs earning up to $250,000 and executive directors up to $100,000. That is not the kind of money you expect people to earn in this type of organization, but it is. You better bet your gullible butts that most people who get into charities are in it for the salary and the job is simple - you ask people for money and use a disease or a group of people who are suffering and you have the best promotional ads money can buy.

other streamers like grandpoobear are trying to silence any talk of this. maybe they need to have their charity events looked into as well. I tried to discuss this video in his discord just now and it was all deleted quickly.

You know, as a fan of Jerard content, I remember him complaining about his complex relationship with the family and specifically with his father. Yep, that adds up.

I never would have thought Girard would do something like this it's so crazy and sad how he's taken advantage of his fanbase. Thank you Carl for reporting on this ❤

This is so rough to watch unfold. I've been a fan of Super Beard Bros for a long time, and I always saw Jirard as one of the nicer and more genuine people on the platform. I was even subbed to their Patreon up until these videos came out. I keep hoping that this is a case of negligence or laziness, but the more info that comes out, the less I can believe that. This just feels like a shameful display of fraud. I hope that people who chose to be kind and donate and were subsequently taken advantage of are filing complaints and claims right now. I want to see this charity fully investigated and all the details published.

It makes you wonder did he ever donatte the Nintendo WiiU and DS downloads to the archive organization or is it still in their possession. I’m only bringing this up because he said he donated these games and possibly the hardware to archive. But if the money never left his position then did the games? Or did he say that to make you fill good and he actually had help to just sit on every game before removed from the eshop. Just to say they own it now?

Woah... Just everyone calm down. Let's not immediately point fingers. Maybe Jirard's mom's dying wish was for him to exploit her disease to embezzle charity funds...

2:10 The other problem is that money sitting in a bank account burns away due to inflation. Just consider the fact that in 2022 alone, inflation stood at around 8%, which means that around 50,000 dollars simply disappeared in real terms. Through negligence and incompetence, or maybe even malice, they've squandered probably 100k in real value over the years. That should be a crime. People thought nearly100% of their money was going to a charity, but now, even if all of the money was donated, only 80% of the value of that original money could be donated, with the other 20% just lost to the ether. That doesn't include administration fees. That doesn't include the opportunity cost of what that money could have done over the past years. That money could have been working to help find cures or fund research. That money could have just sat in an index fund and made 10% a year. So, considering the opportunity cost, this is even more tragic.

Exactly, many charities put money in investments, which is perfectly legal. They could've done that at the very least. But it in even a savings account.

What you wrote about the finances also applies to the charity side of it: Supporting people could have affected their lives in a positive way several years ago. Or accelerate research, lead to more knowledge that others could build on.
