I tried the peeling solution on Monday for the first time and I was surprised how well my skin handled it. I left it on for the full 10 minutes and all I got was a little bit of tingling that was slightly itchy and when I rinsed it off my skin was barely red and I have mild rosacea so most things make my cheeks and nose red.
@LifeDIY4 жыл бұрын
That's good! Have you done glycolic peels before? Do you like the results from this one? I love it!
@Nfriesen914 жыл бұрын
No. It was the first time I ever used an aha acid on my face. I have used products with salicylic acid before. So far I'm not sure if I'm noticing much different yet but I do like how soft it makes my skin
@LifeDIY4 жыл бұрын
@@Nfriesen91 Oh ok! Maybe you just have some tough skin. Otherwise, it can also make a big difference how your skin is pretreated before the peel. If you make it extra clean and then use a toner with alcohol in it (or straight alcohol, which some people use before glycolic and other peels) it will make it a lot stronger of a peel. Some people with more oily skin may not feel it as much or it may not be as irritating. Anyway thanks for sharing!

This is my first time on your channel. And I am so glad that I visited. I love your " get right into what matters" approach. You didn't waste my time (or yours) with a lot of no nonsense introductions. I REALLY appreciate that, and I am sure many others do as well. I hate wasting 10 minutes of my life hearing someone talk about what really doesn't matter at all. Thank you! This was a very informative video which has answered ALL my questions that even TO website couldn't answer. TY.
@LifeDIY4 жыл бұрын
Great video! So thorough! I think the AHA/BHA one is amazing but it is potent. I think if someone has never used glycolic acid before, it would be a good idea to start with some 10% peeling pads, thrn move up to 20% and then this one later. But, that is just my opinion - especially if someone has sensitive skin. Glycolic acids have done so much for my skin over the years. For the lactic one, I almost consider it more of a serum and will probably apply it with my hands. I haven't used that one in a while. Thanks for all the details on these products!

Definitely! Always good to ease in with these solutions. Glad to help 😊

I love both products, but lactic acid is just far more preventative for breakouts as well as clearing scarring. The acid peel mask causes my skin to purge out all them nasties and can leave me with a few new breakouts the next day. Using the peel off mask in longterm is beneficial, I just wouldn't recommend using it if you had plans coming up and wanted to look decent. Lactic acid is my FAV. Use it every 2nd night. Rotated between retinoid emulsion in conjunction with rosehip moisturiser.

What Are The Differences Between Lactic Acid And Peeling Solution?
@janellelee83784 жыл бұрын
Both product exfoliate you’re skin. Lactic acid is a AHA and it is sold at 5% or 10%. The peeling solution contains 30% AHA and 2% BHA so it is MUCH stronger. If you have sensitive skin, start off with the lactic acid.

NO! You’re over exfoliating your skin! You should be exfoliating 3 times a week MAX. Both glycolic acid and lactic acid are AHA (serve the same purpose and effectiveness) so you should only buy 1 of them in the future. The ordinary website also recommend using the product at a maximum of 2 times a week. The salicylic acid is a BHA ( serve similar purpose but it is stronger as it penetrates deeper into skin). I recommend you to use the lactic acid on Monday, the glycolic toning solution on Wednesday, and the salicylic acid on Friday. If you don’t trust me, you can do more research yourself:)

Caution to those living in countries such as Australia. I’ve seen a few comments advising that the AHA/BHA blend is super strong and whilst it may not cause any harm if introduced slowly the fact that it’s peeling the first layer of your skin combined with our UV/sun exposure even when inside is damaging. The salicylic acid masque and Lactic acid + HA imo should be more than enough. A good body doesn’t need bells and whistles.

It’s kind of the same idea as the lactic acid solution. Not much else going on with it aside from that ingredient!

I've just bought one bottle of this product and i can't help myself but doubt with the authenticity of the product. the packaging and bottle seems legit as in legit. Been watching comparison video of fake and authentic and it's similar to authentic. it's making me sad and anxious since i bought it at a not so low price (less fake encounter) please help me, here's what I'm confused at since it's my first time to buy the product. 1. Color = from what i see, it should be as red as blood but mine is like deep purple reddish (like burgundy?) 2. Smell = the smell of the product i bought is like medicine, it smells bad but not that bad, tolerable, (they say it's a chemical smell and yeah i do feel like it smells chemical since in my chem lab subject, there's resemblance to the smell there) 3. Texture = mine is like a jelly or gel but i don't think it's runny, and when i spread it it's like so soft and very gel like texture. 4. Sting = Does it really sting? I've just tried it last night on my whole face (i left it to who knows what would happen to my face next) and it doesn't sting, but i felt like it has a hot sensation but it's not harsh, just a little. is that what you felt too when applying? 5. Blue code = i have a blue code but is it normal to have the same code with another same product? Or does that mean it was manufactured the same day (like by batch)? just this morning, my skin is back to being oily and from what i hear, it is supposed to make your face dry. is it normal? i hope i could get answers from you all thank you!

hey! I really enjoyed your video and has a lot of amazing tips :) I have a question, is it alright for me to use both products? Like use the 30%/2% twice a week and then 10%/HA the days where I don't use the 30%/2% or would that damage my skin?

In the U.S. the gold standard for skin care after sunscreen is Tretinoin. It is the most proven and researched ingredient that offers up visible results with consistent use of it along with a good sunscreen. It is easy to use the product wrong though because it is a heavy strength active ingredient so it is available by prescription only when you see a dermatologist. Keep in mind that is only in the U.S. where we have a for profit health care system so it will cost you depending on insurance and if it covers it. There is an ingredient called Adapalene which is a form of vitamin A that is sold over the counter that can be a good option for someone that can't see a dermatologist. I use Differen Gel and the Cerave Resufacing Retinol.

@@missleo281 Great info, Leo! I recently ran out of my tretinoin and can't get another rx right now so I started adapalene and was considering a retinol. I'm curious about your use of adapalene and the cereve retinol. Do you alternate days for those? Or use them together? Thanks!
@missleo2814 жыл бұрын
@@jennifersaylors3952 Respectfully, you will have a better understanding of your skin and what you can handle. I began my skin care anti-aging/anti-cancer journey with the cerave resurfacing retinol. It is a slow release encapsulated retinol with other great ingredients like Niacinimide, Ceramides, Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Licorice Root Extract and more! I would say look at the ingredients and see if any on the list might be sensitizing to yourself. The way I use it is: It goes on second to last in my routine. I never mix adapalene with the retinol because of possible irritation. At first I started the retinol with one pump in my whole face. It will feel warm-ish on me but it will go away and if anything seems of concern I would wash it off but I haven't had to do that. I put this between two heavy moisturizers. I did my double cleanse and then hydrating serums on the damp skin and a heavy moisturizer after the serums (I use Cerave Moisturizing Cream). I let all that dry and then I came back and put on one pump to my whole face avoiding the eyes and lips and then I reapplied the Cerave MC to my whole face thid time including eyes and lips and went to bed and felt great with hardly any irratiation or peeling the morning after. I took it pretty slow using it at first like every other two days at night. I did this for two weeks meaning 14 days so let say I do it Monday I wouldn't do it Tuesday or Wednesday and would do it on Thursday evening and so on and so forth until you get to 14 days. After this I started to do it every other day but not on Sunday just to give my skin a break incase of anything and if I dont feel like the retinol I wont use it. Using this made beginning adapalene so simple and to be honest I think adapalene is gentler on me. I began my adapalene the same way as my retinol but in the transition I gave myself a few days break between beginning my adapalene and pausing my retinol. Everytime it's a retinol or adapalene night after putting the active ingredient on I immediately turn off all the lights and I lay on my back, facing up just breathing deeply letting all tension go from my face so that every muscle is relaxed. I'm paranoid that if I have my phone inches from my face after putting on one of these retinoids that the light will degraded them and cause then to irritate me. That's just my quirk. The best advice I can give is if you start any of these products start slow. Glacial! And USE SUNSCREEN whenever the sun is out!!! I hope this helps? This is what I do so this might give you a hint on what moves to make? I'll be blunt and say I'm not anybody you should be taking advice from (except for wearing a hugh spf broad spectrum sunscreen). I'm not a dermatologist. I'm just a person trying to find her perfect skin care routine. Let me know if this is useful at all. My philosophy for skin care at this moment is just: Love the person behind the skin care and have fun! Thank you!
