I LOVED this song when it came out as the 80s were coming to an end.... it started to chart then just disappeared from airplay. I didn't think about it for YEARS except to think that "Your Love" was overplayed and wishing that the radio stations would play some of the other Outfield songs. I'd honestly forgotten the song's name (never had bought an album) and finally decided to search their discography to find what I'd mentally misplaced. So gratified to hear it again. And it sounds as good as ever. No, there will never be a decade like the 80s again. Some folks went on to like 90s and grunge and such. Me, not so much. I became an adult in the 80s and the music of the time brings back the memories like it hasn't been over a third of a century 😮

I was always curious about the meaning of this song, by using the name of Babylon as a metaphor. Over the years and after losing some good friends, it’s now when this song makes more sense to me. It was always one of my favorite songs. I was lucky to live during the 80’s.

Such great memories. Underway in the Med, way b4 Internet, my ex would audio tape me top 40, and mail to me, via Military post offices, and I got to hear this song for 1st time in Early Summer of 89. Such good days!

What an incredibly multilayered video. And they produced this in the days before digital workstations. I bet even with modern technology they couldnt recreate it and have the result be as smooth and seamless as this

This song is forever linked to a summer of temporary duty at Malcolm Grow Med Center at Andrews AFB. I attended college and med school in the 80s and watched thousands of music videos. Most were crap. This video is art and befits the song.
