Amity is voiced by Mae Whitman, AKA the voice of Katara. Also, I love Willow so much, one of the best characters in the series.

I know that Amity was a brat and a bully towards Willow... But, in her defense... Amity did put an effort on her homework. She is very gifted in abomination magic... only to be "bested" by Willow, whom she knew she was cheating, as she had seen her initial abomination. I would also freak out if a student would have a better grade than me for a work they hadn't done themselves. Sure, causing Luz to be dissected is a bit extreme... but I can understand her.

Hee! I had the opposite issue. I wanted to learn Latin, and my mother wanted me to learn French, or at least some other living language. It was a big power struggle. Fortunately, I won out in the end, since my classics degree would have been much more difficult if I hadn't had all those years of Latin. :)

Amity's actions in this episode make a lot more sense down the line. This show excels at character development, and really storytelling in general. Any little detail can have a big impact later.

Cute, only tangentially related to the episode thing: One of the nicknames for one of the family dogs, Copper (a dachshund) is 'Mr. Wiggles'. I think he legit likes it better than his actual name considering how he gets even more excited every time he hears it. Seriously though, Willow's parents named her Willow (not spoilery or plot relevant but her last name is Park) and are surprised when she has an affinity for plant magic? Sounds like King needs to make some Shame hats for her parents.

French was compulsory (though often poorly taught) in Canadian schools up to Grade 9. I wanted to take Latin, but unfortunately it wasn't popular and conflicts with compulsory courses meant it was off the table for me. Aside from standardized tests, it can be helpful for certain careers like Law, Medicine, or the Sciences

Never take a person surrounded by trash seriously when they tell you "I never finished school and look at me. Who wouldn't envy where I am now." Anybody who does that is a bum (EDIT: Apparently, Eda actually DOES like school...she simply hates the way classes are being taught)

Just a couple of points the titles are usually puns on something. Luz is bisexual so she is definitely attracted to both boys and girls. And she has failed in the past, to express herself to others, or asking others out. The owl house has two complete seasons of about 20 episodes, each and a drastically shortened third season of 3 extended episodes. Unfortunately, this is Disney at its worst. There was content in the series that Disney didn’t like, and so Impacted its decision to cut it. I’ve been told that there were other factors, but in my personal opinion, it was the content that Disney didn’t like that ultimately tipped the balance and killed the shows third season. But the crew did its best with what they had, and I think they did well and gave Disney the middle finger in the process.

Despite the series has a lot (and I mean a lot) of Harry Potter references, the insult "half-a-witch" has nothing to do with blood status. It really is an insult given to those who have very poor magical abilities in such a way that it doesn't matter if they have magic or not. Despite Willow has a tremendous gift for plant magic, she was forbidden to use it, as students can only study the magic of the track they are on. Because of that and her poor skills for abomination magic, she couldn't live up to her full potential and started to be seen as a "half-a-witch".

Willow is voiced by Tati Gabrielle Gus is voiced by Issac Ryan Brown Amity is voiced by Mae Whitman “I have to go disappoint my teacher.” Oh honey… Amity is definitely a bully and Willow doesn’t deserve any of it. However, I do want to say that the rest of the events in this episode are kind of interesting to look at from Amity’s perspective, because Willow is still cheating. We can assume that Amity has worked hard to become top student. So to have the teacher give away her Top Student status after Willow “made” one (1) decent Abomination, after we’ve already learned that she’s been failing the class, I can’t blame her for being super pissed about it. Again, doesn’t excuse the bullying but the rest of it I can totally get. The teacher himself is just kind of awful, but that’s a whole other issue. I’m not actually sure if Principle Bump was actually serious about the dissecting. I think he knew after his chat with Amity and basically was trying to force them to reveal the farce. Like, I can see it going either way.

im not going to spoil anything for you but amity's parents putting her in therapy is unlikely- you'll see that she needs to be in therapy BECAUSE OF HER PARENTS! that will make more sense as you continue to watch the show which gets better and better as it goes!
