@@Votypeks how do you like the backfire?I have my eye on it.My use would be for fun, cruising, carving on bike paths or other smooth roads. I would rather have a belt drive board mainly because you have four full wheels to take up bumps and vibration. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Could you do a follow up of what happened to the brand? I own a S3X. I actually enjoy a lot the board! I got 30mph on it, it's pretty stable! Overall a good board. I'm just really curious to know what happened to the brand. By the way I notice that the hub motors looks like the motors used on the Wowgo 2S Mini.

Any reason why I haven't seen any metroboards tested? I ride one, and I'm a big fan of it. Even on a half-power setting with the single motor version, it still accelerates up hill and I'm not light, so I'd love to see a review of it!

Not yet. Evolve boards are very expensive and generally not super well-liked among enthusiasts, which makes flipping them difficult. We've reached out for a free test unit and have not heard back. If anyone in the Seattle area is willing to lend us theirs for a day, that would help greatly.

I'm surprised... No one else reviewed this board except skatemetric ? Why ? Is it simply a 12S version of the "meepo "-like derivative board, just with higher voltage ?
@skatemetric627
@skatemetric627 5 жыл бұрын
I doubt it has a 12S battery.
@JonathanVaucher
@JonathanVaucher 5 жыл бұрын
I thought it would. Seems like it's a meepo type v2 controller and the ordinary hub motors. Meepo v2.0 tops out at 24 mph. So put 12S battery instead of 10S and you get 1.2 x 24mph = 29 mph top speed with the same generic motors and the same controller and remote. Just a few more cells...
@skatemetric627
@skatemetric627 5 жыл бұрын
That's a reasonable theory, but it uses a standard 42V charger, so it's definitely not 12s.

I wrote this comment on a previous video. I will just post it again hoping to get a reply : Impressive review, as always. Also that race simulator is a nice addition to the website (why isn't the 12s monster there?). Also, I know you have the parts for doing so: there are many comparisons between dual 6355 vs dual 6374 (or 5065), but all of them are basically useless since they use either different battery configurations or different kv motors, even different gearing, so they are always biased (and stupid). Do you think you can make a comparison between motors with same specs but different sizes? The battery is the bottleneck usually, so you might have to go lipo or multiple li-ion packs in parallel. Reach out to a supplier and see if they can provide you some samples for review in exchange for promoting them.
@cristianconstantin6496
@cristianconstantin6496 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. how about two 5065 motors vs two 6355 in terms of efficiency? I am a 68kg (150lb) rider and I live in an area without big hills (my wowgo 2 works more than decent here). I'm thinking that since evolve uses 5065 and works well with heavy riders, a light guy like me would be fine. I just want a very efficient and light motor that is still very strong
@skatemetric627
@skatemetric627 6 жыл бұрын
We don't have the 12S monster on the chart because we just can't ride it to its full potential. As for the motors, I'm guessing you're aware of this, but the numbers simply correspond to the physical dimensions, so you can expect a fair bit of variance between different 6374 motors depending on the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. Bigger should mean better electrical efficiency and greater heat dissipation, but that's not necessarily true.
@cristianconstantin6496
@cristianconstantin6496 6 жыл бұрын
Larger motors, even though they use more battery for doing the same task, might be more efficient for long distance cruising because of the heat dissipation. Lower heat also means lower resistance which makes it more efficient. Hot motors have high resistance and eat more battery than cool ones. I thought about it again: larger motors can be more powerful (listed W). Torque does not mean everything, a more powerful motor will move a bigger mass more easily. That is if only the battery can keep up with it. The question is what would be the difference between motors if they have the same specs all around, besides dimensions and power, while being constrained by the battery (a 12s4p samsung 30q battery can only supply 2592W at 43.2V, 6374 motors are rated for over 3000W, multiply that by two for a dual setup and you have a crazy bottleneck caused by the battery. I assume 90% of eboarders don't have more than 50 cell batteries) Makes you question if it's worth getting a 6374 setup that will have the same actual power as a 5055 setup
@skatemetric627
@skatemetric627 6 жыл бұрын
@@cristianconstantin6496 I think you're making this more complicated than it needs to be. Efficiency, peak power, and torque are all going to theoretically improve with a larger stator, assuming equal parts quality. What you really should be searching the spec sheet for when buying is internal resistance, assuming you've already locked in a kv rating and gear ratio.
@cristianconstantin6496
@cristianconstantin6496 6 жыл бұрын
@@skatemetric627 I thought it was complicated already, then made a thread on the forum and it's even more complicated according to some (some Einstein level shit), or easier according to others (just get big motors bruh).
