As you were wondering why a firefighter has to drive an ambulance. The game probably takes place in Germany because the writing on the ambulance is German. In Germany this is called „Berufsfeuerwehr“ which means you are a firefighter as your regular job and they have ambulances too because they are part of the emergency medical service. Most firefighters in Germany, especially in rural areas are actually voluntary firefighters. I hope this answers some questions.

I have firefighters - the simulation(and the plant firefighters and airport one)and while it does get repetitive and takes a while to get into actually putting out large fires, it is definitely fun(usually just if you're bored though). I got them all for about £2.50 maybe during a sale, definitely wouldn't pay the full price.

While this game is bad, you can see that actual effort was put into making it. And if it's true that it was made by this one guy and it was the first one he'd made, kudos to him. With more practice and maybe some help, he can make some decent games. Even this one could be pretty good (like, the My Summer Car level, where the game's shortcoming are just adding up to its charm) if he polished it a bit more. Still, it should not cost as much as it does. it costs 60% more than My Summer Car does and almost as much more than Skyrim does.

Rondomedia is kind of infamous here in Germany for their bad simulator games. Also fun fact but the reason why the vehicles are all called Florian is because Saint Florian is the patron saint of firefighters. But as a good catholic boy Kevin of course already knew that.

Not to sure about Germany but over here in the US most firefighters are also emts. Most calls are medical these days. And you also get a better chance of being hired faster. And most jurisdictions simply require an emt certification. I’m currently going through the whole process of getting my emt certification.
