Hey Eric, I'd love to know your thoughts on doing the reverse nordic instead of machine leg extensions. I believe the stretch is better than what you can get with yoga blocks on a machine leg extension and it's easier to setup. You just have to keep your glutes flexed in order to get a full stretch of the quads. You can use a cable attachment as a counter-weight if you're unable to do them unassisted and progress from there. Thank you for another thoughtful and fantastic video. I can't weight to try the elevated smith split squat tomorrow!
@DeepakKhoenie2 ай бұрын
Really incredible physique Eric, your quads are insanely big. That range of motion on the leg press is also sick💪🏽 leg day tomorrow and will definitely try to get that range of motion 🎉 are you ever going to compete again?

You talked briefly about ankle mobility, lifting shoes, etc but can you explain a bit more in detail why you are letting your heels come up off the plate? And it looks like your heels are coming up pretty early in the movement too. I feel like I have heard both you and Dr Mike talk about the importance of keeping your feett flat throughout the press

About to start a new meso with a change in some exercises. I will drop the weight and slow the pace the way you are doing here. I do the stretch part, I just need to slow it down way more and do more control on the eccentric. If you can do a video on how to target and grow specifically larger vastus lateralis that would be amazing. Mine is stubborn and wont get bigger. =(

I love this video and your knowledge! You might be the first bodybuilder who's body I've actually looked at in awe and respect, as someone not coming from the gym world. But I really gotta ask because it makes me question your advice... How can bodybuilders talk about keeping themselves healthy for the long run of going to the gym when they're on steroids? Doesn't that contradict longevity and healthiness when theres this glaring "well I'm super healthy in every respect except this one thing I do which has profound negative effects to my long term health" elephant in the room? I guess we all make our choices for what we love in life, and maybe your fitness lifestyle has you healthier long term even on steroids than I would be long term while fat and sedentary. But that then begs the question: if I get myself in shape and keep training, why don't I just take a small amount of steroids since I'd still be healthier long term than I would've been had I stayed fat and sedentary? It's like even though you have such a wealth of knowledge and the mindset of a champion, you're still implicitly promoting steroid use because any success you have is happening while on it. I know it doesn't negate your accomplishments but it's a large benefactor to them

great explanation! if i want to increase my squat strength, which of those 4 exercises you would recommend as first option as squat variation/accessory in a non squat day? second option , etc... thanks!!
@rockyevans15842 ай бұрын
Generally, more squats will help. If they're a priority, you may want 3 different squat days with different variations a week. What's limiting your squat currently? You probably need to focus more on either quad strength or back strength, depending on the limiting factor. Very tough question to answer without a bunch of info exchanged and even video of your heavy singles

No reason to, just adds extra fatigue. By lowering weight youre sacrificing resistance and therefore growth. As long as youre controlling reps on the eccentric you are fine
