I really like your channel. It is well presented and researched & you can pronounce words...means a lot!

Thank you very much! Still working on the presentation side of things but I'm certainly noticing my improvement. I must also admit, pronunciation on other channels has always bothered me until I started saying all this stuff out loud to a camera, you should see my outtake compilations haha

Please don't be upset, but I saved this and your Dimetrodon video under my Everything Is Better With Dinosaurs playlist. I know synapsids aren't dinosaurs. But it may be a while before I make a playlist that's dedicated to Paleozoic life.

Your video was well presented as per ususl. A rather bleak outlook though for our present Fauna. Hopefully things change and we stsrt taking better care of our planet. 💪🏻🙏🏻✨

Tell us more about the Great Dying recent theories.
@dino-gen
@dino-gen Жыл бұрын
Well, many have hypothesised that such effects were caused by methane hydrates over a long period, ozone depletion, increasing aridity and even meteor impacts! Most of these have been seen pretty much as secondary effects however rather than the primary cause

@@dino-gen Thank you! I have my theory and evidence about impacts causing the great extinctions and it would be a pleasure to share it and discuss it with people. Can you suggest any manner I could talk with them?
@dino-gen
@dino-gen Жыл бұрын
Yeah of course! If you’re looking to discuss it online then Reddit communities are a great place to start, alternatively you can look up scientific papers on the Permian mass extinction and see if you can find a way to reach out to the authors. Hope this helped 😊

It was great until the doom and gloom, anthropogenic global warming stuff. I guess the animals just didn't own nothing and be happy? They didn't implement communism? There's legit criticism of anthropogenic global warming, and you should know that. Don't just parrot WEF talking points

I'm not really sure what your problem is. He posits that rapid change over a short period of time causes mass extinction. He cites and compares mass carbon emissions from a natural phenomenon that drove the Great Dying, and the current extinction event. Is his conclusion comprehensive? Is his analysis complex? No. It also doesn't pretend to be either of those things. His brief conclusion isn't exactly controversial, provided one accepts climate change as being driven by carbon emissions. Are you a denialst? Do you hold a view of less severe climate change? I'm legitimately curious.

The greenhouse effect is theory, not fact. Explain to me why excess heat isn't vented into space? Is the earth wrapped in a glad bag? Stick to archaeology.

Tbf the greenhouse effect is real, go step in a greenhouse. The theory is what's causing that greenhouse effect on a planet wide scale

CO2 contains the excess heat, this is the same reason why earth has a habitable temperature and isn't boiling hot on the side facing the sun and icy cold on the opposite side, as is with planets that have weaker atmospheres. The mean temperatures of the world has also been consistently increasing in abnormal levels, and then there is the massive loss of biodiversity as mentioned in the video. There are also plants that bloom at abnormal times and animals that migrate earlier than usual because of the abnormal climate. Lastly, the word theory doesnt mean what you think it does. Gravity is also a "theory".

What's the specific heat of CO2 smart guy? What is it relative to water vapor. Is it heavier than air? Boyle's law says the partial pressure of CO2 halves every 18,000 as you go higher in the atmosphere. If there are 400 PPM at sea level, how much at 100,000 feet? What happens to teh trillions of joules of energy absorbed by the earth and its oceans? So, your saying a trace gas is going to change the earth sun system? Lake Tahoe is getting 10-20 inches of snow today. Is that part of the endless drought or the end of snow predicted by idiots? @@panagiotismagos3649

Excess heat does go into space, it's just that the temperature of thermal equilibrium is increased due to greenhouse gases changing the effective altitude at which thermal energy is radiated back into space. Also, the greenhouse effect is a fact. It's why greenhouses work.

A bit late but it seems you have a misunderstanding of what theory means in scientific terms. In short, a scientific theory is an explanation of something in the natural world and universe that can be repeatedly tested. There is no higher level that can be reached than a theory in science. It means something has been repeatedly tested over and over with the same result and can be used to accurately predict an outcome. A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that can incorporate facts, laws, inference, and tested hypotheses. You cannot get anymore accurate than a theory. Also if excess heat was just vented into space we'd all freeze to death, it's not like earth has a specified level of how much heat it should have, there is not "excess heat", just heat trapped in our atmosphere. More carbon dioxide means more heat is trapped. Why? It absorbs more heat than other gases. It's not the only greenhouse gas, but the one we need to worry about the most.
