Thanks for stopping by. Well I wasn't expecting a track like this to be released as a single before the album release but here we are. The song dropped in the early morning where I live so I've been up all day learning the riffs, parts and the few solos. Some parts of the solos are a little buried in the mix and are hard to figure out exactly what's going on but here's what my ears tell me.

Oh shit, It may be buried somewhere in the insta dms requests, I don’t always check those. Yeah it’s a diminished sweep tappy thing, that’s how I would explain it too. I really fluked that solo when I recorded that video in 2018 so I can’t quite remember exacty what I played 😂 I know they played it on one of the Deepest Cuts streams but you can’t accurately see what Corey’s playing due to the camera angle. That song is on the list of songs to rerecord in the next couple weeks.

Absolutely love your covers! Just recently got the last new Epiphone Custom Origins 7-String I could find (had to import from Japan to US). In all my 17yrs of playing I've come across few guitar tones as awesome as yours on this album's covers as well as WTDMS. Not as many as Skylines Severance a week or so again. The weird diminished/chromatic riff after the solos would be the hardest part. The solos are tricky but not the absolute hardest on their discography

Trivium’s (and most metal bands) will have at least two rhythm guitars tracked, usually one panned Left speaker and one Right speaker which is how you get that “wide wall of guitars sound” metal is known to have. Sometimes they will be playing different parts like harmonies. Some of the leads you’ll hear on Trivium’s studio albums will have a lower or higher octave or a harmony tracked and blended in the mix as well, it helps the leads sound fuller and the overall production sound bigger. In a studio situation you afford to layer numerous guitar parts and harmonies together. Obviously live you can’t do that so they simplify the arrangements and play the most important crucial parts. In a live situation Corey will play the main lead melodies when required (usually just the lower octave or harmony) and also his respective rhythm parts which will sometimes differ from Matt’s. I try to recreate all the studio recorded parts hence why there are multiple guitars playing it the same time.

Most guys who do covers don't play in one-take. It's all pre-recorded and patched together piece by piece through editing. That's how they get studio perfect takes. All the big cover channels do it, there are little to no exceptions. If you want the best quality, that's how you have to do it so I'm not blaming them. The only ones doing live takes these days are the guys still recording covers with their phone cameras propped up against a water bottle lol. You know for sure those guys are playing live. Everybody else with the super crisp and clear guitar audio that's been clearly mixed and EQ'ed and perfect execution of every single note and chord in the song no matter how complex with not a single instance of unwanted string noise or feedback at any point? Almost surely pre-recorded.
