What's really illiterate is the fact that *We as black people didn't adhere to those roles in our home in the past.* So why are people trying to do it now? What Fantasia is saying is *Women Wants To Be The Head!* Women that wants to order her man around how she thinks men do to women. *The Problem?* *That Man Didn't Treat Her That Way!* I always saw my wife/girlfriend as an equal! It didn't matter who cooked as long as food was cooked. Who Washed The Clothes, Emptied the garbage and other stupid shit. *I didn't want to be with a woman that didn't want to work/Go to school/have hobbies/ help make important decisions.* The women in my life all cheated, Two Wanted Me To Do Whatever They Wanted, Others Was Asking For Money, Expensive Gifts, Bills Paid, (watching Ghetto Bewitched and the sister complains her boyfriend of three weeks refuse to pay a $600 light bill)(Actually What I Encountered From Women And I Just Met Them)(One Said She Didn't Have Rent Money Five Minutes After Meeting Her. Another told me of how she was having difficulty paying her bills within minutes of meeting.) Rampant! *Black Women Have The Wrong Idea Of What Marriage And Living With THE RIGHT MAN.* They grab thuglife off the streets because they have no place of their own and they can terrorize them with being kicked out. *I've Been In That Situation Too!* Some thought I would come back. I don't play with the lives of people like that. *I Most definitely don't find it a game or a bargaining chip to win an argument either.* What happens when men move in with those on a power trip. *THE HEAD OR WHO'S IN CONTROL OR SUBMISSIVE NEVER SHOULD BE A SUBJECT with the one you love and loves you*. Black women allowed themselves to be brainwashed by THE LIST. *The list created of what they expect from and How The Man They Wants Looks.* According to this list they want *A Rich White Man*. I made $60,000/year and Black Women wouldn't even speak because they thought I was a janitor. *I Refused To Buy The Latest And Dress To Impress After So Many Asking For Money Upon Meeting*. What black women looked for before they decided to talk to a guy. If he had expensive clothes on, the latest tech, Flashing Cash, Bling! I said *An Intelligent Woman Will Know Economic Security And A Man That's Likely To Be Dedicated To His Family And Not The Streets.* PSYCH! They called me gay and fag for having my own apartment, Flowers, Washing Machine(didn't know having one as a man was GAY till then.), and everything else. The thugs reinforced the gay slurs to keep the women from choosing working black men. All Black men with jobs and wasn't thuglife was gay. The *REAL MAN* campaign. Told black women that the thugs in the Streets are the REAL MEN because they're Violent And Ready To Fight Everybody! *Those are the men you took into your homes that Wants To Control Everything In The House,* and as you said, SHE'S THE BREAD WINNER, while he's the Housebitch babysitter!

I see what youre saying about the pro black male dating someone not black. The point about the options they have resonates. I say that because I am a pro black woman but im getting married outside my race. I think I ended up with who Im with because I grew up in a very colourist country filled with self hating men that projected their hatred onto me. Hispanic and mixed race men were often the ones who showed most interest in me and respected me. Black men always treated me like the bottom of the barrel. Now that its a trend to have a black woman or to be black ive seen them show interest in me. But its too late for them. I found the love of my life adn he's hispanic and Iranian. Love black men though because my father was a pretty wonderful dad and still is.

We gotta get to the root of the issues. Let's start with the expectations of black girls compared to black boys. My mom must have told me and my sis 1000 times "a man dont want no nasty woman" as she was drilling in our heads the importance of keeping a clean home. Meanwhile, my mom and dad (divorced) never said shit to my brother about being a husband. Me and my sis were RAISED to be wives. And my brother was raised to be a good person, self sufficient and stay out of trouble (jail), but my brother was not groomed for husbandhood specifically.

The thing is a lot of young men(who want a traditional woman) don’t understand is that to get a traditional woman you have to be a traditional man. You can’t expect a woman to cook, clean, take care of the kids AND pay the bills. What are YOU doing? I grow up in a traditional household, my mom made dinner every night and raised the kids and my dad has a 9 to 5 and made sure there was food on the table. Understand the balance. I think a lot of young men just want a mother/caretaker they can have sex with, they don’t actually want to be adults.

First of all, if you're taking the word submission like it 10 BCE yeah but it 2019. I'm dont think she meant to be a ding dong in your relationship I think she's trying to say let there be a head and follow where need be instead of conflict. I think sometimes us women just like men can get in our own way. Its not that serious. My father was the head of the household but he let my mom take total control when it came to our religion and it didnt make him look weak. As a man he lead but he also knew where he wasn't the most effective and let my mom come in and she was a submissive wife. I dont think it works for everyone but what she said isn't bad, I mean really you have Cardi B having her ass grabbed by her HUSBAND in public but we mad at a word. Somethings a little off here. To each is own and best of luck to folks looking for their better half!
@aleka..
@aleka.. 4 жыл бұрын
@@JNYC212 "instead of conflict" attitude, sorry, is no different than 10BCE, no matter how you try to frame it here. If there's a need for conflict - and humans, being all different, must have conflicting needs/wishes sometimes - that conflict should happen, so it gets to be resolved. Being creative with solutions satisfying for both sides, or compromise. What you suggest as fine is one person's needs not being taken into consideration - which is a path to being in unsatisfying relationship and towards feelings of resentment. Don't get me wrong, one can go through life ~happy if they had little tension (due to not overlapping interests) and/or submissive side was taught to be happy with little area they got to be in charge of. But world knows better way of being partners in 2019, on the basis of humanist values, equality and cooperation, etc, no hierarchies.

My father always told me that like attracts like, the opposites thing is just surface level stuff. You'll attract whatever you are, so if you're not being yourself then...yeah. I don't understand why men and women can't just work, pay the Bill's, raise children, and follow their passions EQUALLY and TOGETHER. YES, it is ABSOLUTELY difficult to accomplish those things and perhaps it is not practical for people in certain financial situation. However, we can try and continue to strive for that. I don't ununderstand why when we live on our own as women/men we cook, clean, and pay the bills BUT as soon as we enter a relationship/marriage we give up doing life that way. It doesn't make any logical sense.

I see this a lot in the Black Community. A woman gets a man and that gives her the right to be the sounding board for all the rest of her single sisters. After 12 years of marriage, only one baby daddy (my husband), and 14 years of being together I’m more qualified then Fantasia to say this.First, nothing’s wrong with being single. Work on yourself. You are a whole well rounded person with or without a man. Don’t allow married women to pull rank, and make you feel like they’re doing things the Riverview way because they have a Man. Be authentic to your own needs. Every relationship is different. The way Fantasia is doing it is her way,. Why women feel like there’s some imaginary thrown because he put a ring on it is beyond me. This is really a black issue. For the most part our community has been riddled with poor male leadership for so long that the very idea of letting men be totally in charge of all decisions is a disastrous idea. Not only are they suffering from the effects of racism and struggling to provide for their families in ways that their white and other counterparts have not had to, but they feel like if they force us into supporting them that somehow their situation will improve. The truth is it will not. If anything it’s gotten worse. I think other communities are able to operate under traditional gender roles and it has benefited them but I think that black women are becoming fully aware that it only adds to their misery. Even black women who have grown up in traditional two parent households have been done dirty in relationships where men didnt hold up their end of the bargain. It only works when everybody does what they’re supposed to do. There’s a reason we have three branches of government. absolute power corrupts absolutely!

The biggest issue I have is if your gonna do the traditional route do it all the way then maybe I wouldn't have a problem with it and it'd seem more appealing. This new "traditional" shit seems to put more of a burden on the woman (specifically black women if we being honest) where as in the biblical sense it use to be a little better. Now a days these ppl want you to "submit" but also pay half the bills if not all. But also cook, clean, have the baby, play the biggest role in raising the baby why they just barely present?? No ma'am! If he taking on all the financial burden which is REAL traditionalism then okay. But black folks got it bent. When white women decide to live a traditional life style they do it all the way. Black women talking about they tired of being "the strong black woman" yet dont get by taking on that role your doing it even more so.

You may not get a rich man, but you can get a comfortable, well to do man if you follow certain hypergamy tips. Be pretty when you go out; be soft. @sallymae4250
@sallymae4250 4 жыл бұрын
@@KhaosDancer Nooo. The "soft and pretty" thing only appeals to men who actually want that. I don't know why everyone assumes successful men all like the same type of women. In fact, there's a few masculine women I know with rich husbands. They look no different than the average, dress down, tired SAHM. Being well-read is great, but it's not a good enough substitute for a degree to the bourgeois. Every woman in my neighborhood has at least a bachelor's degree and either came from a high paying job or still has one. I met my husband through a colleague of mine. I was an RN at the time when he invited me to his party where I met my now husband. Hypergamy conversations fail to acknowledge that the vast majority of people marry within their class. They tell you only dusty men care if you have your own, but that's a blatant lie easily dispelled by statistics. These men date down all the time, but rarely do they truly entertain women who aren't on their level academically, socially, or financially. Women online are saying you can be a $15/hr secretary and land a six figure man by going to coffee shops and bars just by being feminine because they know the demographic who follows their videos. Think about it, how many hypergamous KZbinrs are actually married to millionaires? If it's so easy, why are they on KZbin trying to make money not layed up with their benefactor? They're selling a dream they haven't yet fulfilled because it pays well. The advice given is perfect for sugaring, but it won't land you a millionaire husband. It likely won't even land a six figure income earner. Women would do much better aiming for a man that's middle-class, because that's the class with the most kept women. The problem is everyone knows those women earn their keep through house duties and the women online have them convinced they're too pretty to contribute 😒 Soft and pretty will only get you so far with men of any class.

My mother has been married to my father for 34 years. They have never raised my sister or I to think I NEED a man or that I should be submitting to my husband (they are Christian too). They have a healthy loving relationship, it’s not perfect but they genuinely love and care for one another, all that to say, I personally have never heard that kind of advice from a woman in a happy healthy relationship. So 🤷🏾‍♀️

This is the first time on KZbin I've heard someone use "pick-me" correctly. For the past four years I've always heard it referred to women who throw other women under the bus for male approval, but on KZbin the hypergamy community has hijacked it to mean any woman with different standards than them. They're the ones willing to lose weight, wear makeup, change their style, fix their hair, change their voices and mannerisms just to fit a certain man's standards. Btw, Fantasia must think we forgot how she had to go to the clinic to get rid of some other woman's husband's baby👀 Don't play holier than thou now😂

ive noticed this too omg by the hypergamy youtubers and when i first heard them say it, i was like huh? I don't think that's what it means lol and it wouldn't even make sense since it's literally pick and me

@@LethalLemonLime Right. Ironically, Black feminists came up with pick-me. The crowd hypergamy hopefuls see as their complete opposites. Now it's took on a whole new meaning thanks to actual pick-mes🤦‍♀️😂

As a black man, I will tell you that I have the conversations a lot with both my male and female friends. What I have found is that women who want traditional men do not want to be traditional women or know what that means. When asked the definition of both roles they readily answer the role that traditional man should play. When I respond with the attributes of a traditional woman they quickly and abruptly reject any notions of the accompanying roles. What I have also found is that women who hold themselves out as feminists still prefer the man to be a traditional man. This relationship/role dissonance is both interesting and mind boggling at the same time in this context. I believe in the end that any couple should be able to define what's best for them. While providing our own beliefs of relationship roles, we should be careful not to pass judgement on opinions that diverge from our own.

I lean on the more traditional side of things, but even I can say come on lol. Marriages aren’t failing because women are trying to be the king in the house 🙄 it’s just easier and more accepted to get divorced. Keep in mind, there were laws in place to keep people from getting divorced. People were just trapped in bad marriages lol. If anything, you just need to have the same perspective on that type of thing as your partner.

And another thing...I was kicking it on Facebook and a woman put a funky cool spin on being valued by her man. When their relationship started, she did all the things Pick Me's and pick up artists tell women to do. One day her man told her that she doesn't have to do the most for him to love and respect her.

I feel like what works for you, works for you. What I'll never understand is how old school men want old school women but dont wanna play their old school ass parts. Also, women and men used marriage for very different reasons than a lot if us do now. Women HAD to be married a lot of the time because they needed to be taken care of. The women took care of the home and kids and the man worked and took care of the financial security. Marriage is and has always been transactional, but to treat it like it's the same concept as it was 50 years ago or more is silly and just unrealistic. Men who have money say women who want them are digging for hold when ...isn't that the point traditional man ? I've never subscribed to the traditional wife and husband , gender role shit and I got a good man just fine just the way I am. We are perfectly happy as is and I never had to play a role. Again, what works for YOU, works. This idea that we are auditioning to be the wife is tired. This entire "wifey" "wife material" bullshit is exactly that. Bullshit. I've never been able to connect with that. I'm just a human person who made a connection with another human person and we felt like we found the person we wanted to life partner with. We have the same values, political views, and desire to NOT be parents. We take care of ourselves and each other. We aren't expected to do more than the other or less than the other and on bad days one person picks up the others slack and so on. Idk why this is a hard concept to understand for some people and why this is looked at as some kind of shitty way to operate in a relationship. This shit is tragic. Also as I commented on someone's reply below, there are studies that show that men benefit from marriage far more than women and that after divorce women are far happier while men are sadder and depressed lmaoooo

I deeply appreciate this comment. I’ve been with my partner for almost 4 years and people keep asking when will we get married. We have no intention to and when we tell them the disdain on their face can sometimes be gut wrenching. What works for us may not work for others and that’s ok. I just wish people would respect our relationship decisions the way we respect theirs. I have my own home which was acquired prior to knowing him and I recall his sister asking me if I would put him on the house and I vehemently said no. She asked why because that’s what her husband did and I said “he wasn’t with me when I went looking for homes nor did he contribute to the purchase. I bought a house but with him in it is a home and that’s enough. I’m also not your husband.”

She also said "husband is the head and wife is the neck"- the head cannot turn without the neck. These "new options" are the reason why this current world is in such a mess today. We have become a "free for all, do whatever" society, dismissing biblical teachings and traditions, especially the black community. Don't knock these people for trying to have some STRUCTURE in their lives. I am with Fantasia on this.

You said it, Kim. A lot of women out here are giving other women bad advice. If one is not careful, it will have them feeling like they can never do anything right. Also, people need to get out of the mindset that cooking, cleaning, and raising kids is strictly a woman's job. It should be a collective effort. If anything, those of us who are trying to spread wisdom out here are the ones who are getting "gaslighted."
