I believe all officers should hold indemnity insurance. When a civil claim is made against the responsible force, the PC’s insurance is used to pay out and not tax payers monies. If they can’t afford the insurance policy, they shouldn’t have so many claims made against them. It shouldn’t be insurance companies that hold the police to account, but nobody else appears to!

I’m guessing in the corrupt British justice system there will be absolutely no consequence for this behaviour legally or civilly. . In fact I guarantee it. They will be retraining if anything which will consist of - don’t get caught next time. Go and ask for a complaint of someone to bolster the case. I worked in a pub when I was younger and I’d hear cops talking. Their favourite topic was how they stitched someone up or gave them a smacking. 😥 Had to stop coming as the regulars kept insulting them! Decent cops exist but they keep quiet about the others it’s not worth saying anything or you get punished. Thin blue line.

The Police media team would not have provided him with any information with regards to a person's arrest. Granted you may not have a problem in giving your personal details to the Police. Nearly every interaction I've had with the police, involved having to tell them that they are wrong about something, or over-reaching. That's because they are literally wrong, but the result is mostly the same, call more officers / become more abusive, fail to check, end up being wrong, still treat you like dirt, pass you off to other officers, spend an hour or so trying to concoct some crime, then run away, negate having to apologize, hide their bright red faces, then simply harass you later, using more public funds, and other members of their 'secret club', because cop ego can't cope, with facts or reality.

This was around the same time Police were abusing S.50 at Hull,to gain details of auditors/photographers. Police were obviously miffed at the popularity of auditing around Police premises and decided they could loosely use S.50.Hoping the seperate offence of not providing details under that section would be a deterrent,regardless of whether ASB was committed. Hull was told in no uncertain terms to cease the practice,but only after several unlawful arrests and subsequent claims. Awaiting the next installment.

It's amazing how if you upset them they'll go to any lengths to arrest you. I live alone and had some neighbours harass me daily because I asked them whose Christmas tree it was that they dumped in my garden, all hell broke loose! every time they drove passed my house they'd give me the finger even the 3 kids were involved, I have a cctv camera as my car has been hit twice and I wanted to keep an eye on it so everything these knobs did was caught on cctv, scratching my car, coming round screaming abuse at me, dumping oil and car parts in my garden, on the council website they advise you to ask your neighbours what the problem is and try talking it out amicably. I tried talking to them and the big fat 25 stone giant heystacks attacked me, tried to gouge my eye out with a key and was literally mm away from my eyeball. he ended up pushing me into my house where the internal door was smashed of its hinges and the glass was all over my living room he was inside my house trying to throttle me all on cctv. Absolutely nothing happed the cps failed to do anything about it makes me sick.

All police officers should as a condition of employment be required to take out public liability insurance. All claims are to be made against that and if their premiums rise then tough. If insurance is subsequently refused due to multiple claims then their employment should be terminated. That would make them think twice about abusing their powers.
