The Platters doing "Only You" really shows off the voice of the great Tony Williams.

Top shelf when it comes to class acts. The Platters had hit after hit in the 50s. Tony Williams voice was magic.

I'm 76 and I will listen to this music all day long. Don't even mention the word "Rap" to me. And Zola, oh my, she could have been Miss Universe.

Hi Lizzie, You will always get some beautiful romantic vocals & harmonization when you react & listen to The Platters and other "Doo-Whop" Groups from that era!!! Well done my friend!!!

Tony Williams, in my view, had one of the greatest voices of all time. I was a kid when they were most popular, so I didn't hear them until their music was played on the radio as golden oldies or oldies but goodies. Their harmonies were always so great. I love them to this day. I like that you take time to discuss the nuances of the performances.

For me it is the voices particularly that of the lead singer that make the song.

I just subscribed because seeing someone in your age bracket who appreciates the great music of the late 1950s and into all the decades beyond it is so refreshing for someone my age. I learned about "real music" growing up in New York in the late 50s and then the 60s and went to the classic rock and roll shows of that era at the Brooklyn Fox and Brooklyn Paramount theaters hosted by some of the great DJs like Murray the K and others. You may be young but, in terms of music, you've got an old soul in the best sense of that term.

Actually pretending to be alrighty is a good first step to healing. New studies show all these years of talking problems with therapists, just keeps you from moving on. Fake it til you make it! lol. Great reaction

Fantastic classic by one of the greatest '50s groups! It'd be awesome if you would also react to "My Prayer" by The Platters (1956), it's a beautiful love song with gorgeous lyrics. Honestly Liz, there's SO MUCH outstanding music from the '50s and '60s, and your reactions to them are such a blast to watch, that l hope you'll extend those two decades an additional week for your reactions. This is so enjoyable!

This was playing on the radio when my dad took me to get a haircut (flat top crew cut) at the barber shop. And then afterwards to the the drug store soda fountain. Those were some of the hold overs from the 1950's for sure.

Tony Williams was a phenomenal singer. They don't make them like that anymore. I like Zola Taylor (1938-2007). She did a lot of solo material such as : Love Me, Or Leave Me Mean To Me My Old Flame I Don't Know Why Who Wouldn't Love You

Lizzie great to be catching up with you again, missed you. Love the hair by the way. I know you sometimes like orchestral tracks, so I have an old TV theme you might enjoy, its from a programme here in the UK from 1972 called Van Der Valk and it's called "Eye Level" by The Simon Park Orchestra. Going further back, by 11 years, so 1961 "Stranger On The Shore" by Acker Bilk, was the theme from another TV programme of the same name in the UK. And if you really need to chill, may I suggest "Albatross" by Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Take care of yourself sweet girl, listen to your body and it'll tell you what it needs.
