It has always been in the back of my mind that Bonnie missed out on the best times...with that said, I had been hoping for two things...that Bonnie would get to record some songs with Anita and Ruth...and that they would get into the Hall Of Fame, so Bonnie could carry on...it's a shame neither happened.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Kennedy Center Honors call Ruth Pointer, the remaining Pointer sister!!!! These Women deserve every honor!!! Amazing, Gifted, and Talented Sister Act!!!! The harmonies and melodies as well as the playful banter during their performances is sheer entertainment excellence!!!! From Gospel, to BeBop, to Jazz, R-N-B, Soulful Ballads, to Country these women have successful done it all. My Goodness!!!!!!!! RIP June (4/11/2006), Bonnie (6/8/2020) , and recently Anita ( 12/31/2022). Thank you for filling our heart, soul, and ears with such great music.

These über-talented women aren't just singing. They aren't just entertaining. They are taking the viewer through a 20th century music lesson. Holy cow! Starting with ragtime, they then roll to country & western (not the modern country crap you hear today) then scat, then flapper jazz, and round it out with tap-dancing. I first got hooked on them as a teen, honestly for the "leg buffet". But over the years they have been paragons of musical talent to me for just these reasons...

GOLD, indeed. I'm trying to figure out what epithets would be best for each. Anita has always been "The Hot One", but that's only because most only remember three sisters...Bonnie is CLEARLY The Hawt One. (Pssst: They're all hot.) Anita is probably better known as The Vain One...but that's actually more like a sisterly in-joke...she knows...she's toying with our expectations. She's probably better known as...The Beautiful One? (Pssst: They're all beautiful.) Ruth...well, look...she's intimidating. I would prefer not to call her a nickname, for fear that getting the wrong one would incite her to punch me in the throat. But one must take a risk every now and then, so...The Strong One? (Pssst: They're all strong.) June? Duh. She's...The Shy One. 😐🤣 (Pssst: She's not shy.) Or perhaps The Humble One. 🤨🤣 (Pssst: In the "afterlife", all she does is congratulate herself.) Or better yet, The Crazy One. (Pssst: No joke here.) Or as it was hinted at in their Up All Nite special: The Smart One. (Pssst: She is literally the smartest human being to ever walk the earth.) To me, no offense to the others, she's: The Best One.
