I'd highly recommend creating a System Restore point. The presenter notes this but I just want to emphasize it. This kind of software can be brutally powerful so be careful. All these apps are a possible vector attack even if they are open source or are currently clean. They are an update away from a possible liability. Just look at the Linux mega backdoor that was luckily found in time.

doesn't the ' in front of of each of those host entries comment them out? also it showed DNS name before IP address when the other host file process had them switched. i'm Very suspicious of = signs in a system file like this.

Anyone else notice that some options are greyed out (by me, not in the video). Under Privacy, most of them are greyed-out. No idea why. And I ran it as Administrator. Maybe it just means those settings have already been changed? I have gone through and removed telemetry using methods.

XD-ANTISPY looks interesting. Does anyone know if there is a script that offers these capabilities? Is there an option to make your selections and have the app generate a script that can be analyzed and executed independently of XD-ANTISPY? I try not to use software that can modify my system due to potential malware. If there is no corresponding script and XD-ANTISPY cannot generate a script, does anyone know if there is a way to capture what XD-ANTISPY does to the system so a script can be created? I would not mind building a test VM in which I could run XD-ANTISPY if I could capture what it does and then apply those changes via a script.

This is going to sound abrasive but I don't think using this kind of software is very useful since it can lead to all sorts of problems when used improperly. Just use Linux if you don't want data collection, or have a separate device running Linux if you need Windows for certain tasks. This isn't only about your OS running optimally and securely, but also all this jumping through hoops is very tiresome in my opinion. If you're willing to go to these lengths to make sure there is no telemetry on your PC, then better use that time to learn another, better suited OS for your needs
