Negative energy is negative...."evil" is mostly subjective. Minus killing babies and genocide, most supposed "evil" things are in a grey area and differ from one culture to the next. A shot of fierceness is invigorating and can propel one to get off of his laurels and do something..... We live in a fake ass culture where asking someone how they're doing isn't actually a question about a person's wellbeing, it's just a meaningless nicety. No one actually gives a fuck, nor do they want to hear it. Don't ask me that question, because I'm gonna unload on you.... Be real. Negativity has its place. Throwing a temper tantrum is one thing. Honing one's anger into motivation towards a goal that will lead towards satisfaction and change is another. Outright denying someonebeing upset is just as dangerous as letting them go wild without restraint. Balance and guidance is required
@ZedzDed3115 жыл бұрын
Some people have deeper connections with their empathy towards others and anger is typically spurred by being hurt, offended, etc. Therefore we're naturally inclined, to certain degrees, to soothe someone who appears to be experiencing pain. Also, how are you supposed to interpret with 100% certainty that the angry person is "harmless"? Your statement lacks depth and is simply a blanket view in a world full of people who experience emotions on a wide scale and ignores simple concepts like the relationship between the angry person and the empathetic, the situation which caused the anger, the possible ramifications of allowing an angry person to boil further into irrationality, etc.

This is a big problem for today’s society, especially for the new generation, we have been taught that anger is never socially acceptable. That we are supposed to be happy all the time, or just playing it cool. Which turns people to plastic, and makes them overly sensitive.

@@AlecEburhard when you live in a society where anger is not acceptable, you get less people expressing themselves in an aggressive manner, you get less confrontation (you can clearly see that the new generations doesn't like confrontation at all!). I’ve noticed that when I act on anger, my choices I have the courage to make the difficult decisions that would be harder to come by if I was in a happy state. Happiness clouds my judgement and makes me optimistic letting my guard down. Anger has been my ally but when I consume too much I can become isolated and bitter.... it has its benefits but also has a big cost as well... So learn to balance it otherwise it will control you.
@davida61465 жыл бұрын
@Ligeia D.Aurevilly well, if you bottle up things and give into your raw emotions, you can collect it through several means (ex; someone flips you off in traffic, rude people, being overlooked at work or school despite your hard earned achievements, constant rejection/denial, etc.). After a while it does build up, but there's also "positive anger" which is (from my opinion) when you are just naturally aggressive with competition -- you're angry with your current situation and you won't be satisfied until you improve or achieve your desired outcome, *by making yourself better.* But, it can be very draining after awhile - I don't recommend it as a permanent fix, but rather as a boost for a short-term period. Exerting your anger into something positive (such as improving one's own performance to "beat the competition") I think is healthier than exerting it on the current situation (such as the road rage example). This does require self-control and honing your emotions, which not many people have these skills/abilities.

@gabrielfrostbrand27546 жыл бұрын
As with all emotion true mastery over anger is being in control while being angry, not by being in control through trying not to be angry. True strength shows itself being able to allow ones emotions while never being fully overtaken by them, so that there always is the possibility of regulating them or one´s own behaviour. Beware of the illusion of control that goes along with an anemic approach to life, which rests upon a facade of modesty, decency and kindness based on (of course only superficial) suppresion of feelings. Such a facade has its flawlessness paid for by the risk of its fragility. Only if you have the courage to engage with your dark side by venturing forth into the deepest and darkest parts of your soul, while you be truly able to understand and hopefully also master them.

Watch out for who is trying to devalue anger or those who show it, because such an attack on anger may be backed up by the knowledge of one´s superiority through the leveragable power of one´s social standing and/or the lack of internal restraints that could normally not be overcome without anger. Anger that is openly enough expressed to become socially recognizable and therefore relevant is often the weapon of the powerless and disparaged against the injustice that has been inflicted upon them (or those with whom they empathize) against their oppressors, who have trained themselves out of commiting this fauxpas. Put simply: If someone advocates against anger it may be because he has no need for it, or is adept enough at hidng it, while you are in your self defense inclined and forced to make use of it to equalize power.

This evening I got word that the storage unit that held all his belongings from the home he once lived in was broken into. All our keepsakes and sentimental belongings torn apart - and the possibility of identify theft looming. With news of this came blind and destructive rage which led to holes in my door, and bloody knuckles. Then came misery and angst to the point of where I did not know what to do with myself. After some time, and watching this video and your video on the psychology of resilience, I will face these challenges with a different, healthier, and far more self productive mindset. Thank you again

When we are distilled mentally in our thinking, being slightly negative in our outlook is realized to be the super position (think Schopenhauer) . Aphorism: "When we argue with someone over a controversial issue, it’s easy to forget they have come to their conclusions on the basis of knowledge or information not identical to our own. On the other hand, assuming their knowledge or information to be not equal to our own is the default position of many of us who, it must be admitted, get a bit angry or impatient for this reason."

@Ligeia D.Aurevilly today I went to the gym, it was only then when the anger was ratched down a couple of notches I was able to think clearly and positively plan. Often anger is from a feeling of helplessness as AOI explains. But in every situation you have choices. This I learned from Victor frankls book Man's search for meaning.
@johnrodgers20185 жыл бұрын
@Ligeia D.Aurevilly there are a few questions in your response , but no, I do not channel my anger into creative endeavours. I am a creative and I practice my art as a form of recreation and escapism. I agree with you on that AOI emphases channelling your anger into creativity and hardly mentions using it as a means of personal growth. As for your situation tomorrow maybe it might be too late, but in similar circumstances , I tap into my warrior archetype, I know it sounds cheesy and not sure if you are familiar with Jung, but I find this method to work very well for me. And yes Frankl book was great, he lifts a lot of his thoughts from Stoicism and I have personally found that a life transforming outlook to my life, and quite compatible with my personal Christian faith. Every morning I will read a passage from Marcus Aurelius's mediations as well as the daily Stoic. What book are you reading of Bertrand Russells? I am listening to history of western philosophy now and I am loving it.

This video helped me to gain a new insight to how which I could better channel my anger, into something more productive and more creative. As expressed in the video, though it is the cultural norm to suppress and be as kind as possible to others, I also find it important to be accepting towards myself and be less rejecting towards the anger within me. Instead of giving negative energy to the already negative feeling, it is time to put some positive energy into this emotion.

never tell your child to be calm in life, let them show anger , if anger is not released it ends up with a terror or suicied. tell childeren that life is easy ,let them lought at problems but if they get get angry , dont ponish them. my parents forced me to grow up as a calm man , i remeber everytime i would get angry something inside me kept my anger, i always inchained my anger inaide me, becouse i was told that. the anger turned to depression, low confidence and hate, finaly it end up killing my twin brother. yes i killed my twin i end up killing anyone who stayed in my way. i killed 11 person in my life and im now in jail. i kept my anger for 24 years. everything starts with parents and the way they grow their child. show child life is easy and it is a big joke. and if sometime their anger will release dont stop it. its better to have release a daily anger so you get a reactions towards your released anger back to you, instead of keep anger iside you just to not make others upset or sad about how you feel in that moment. dont act happy or calm if you dont need to. anger is noting to keep inside you, it most get out of your body when it creates , if kept it will grow and become a dragon inside you and one day it will become unstopeble. if your anger is chained the day it finds the way out of you your brain cant conteol it even if you want to, let me tell you how you will feel, you are dronk , you cant see, all you do is finding a weapon and rekt your opponant un will. your anger cant be stoped intill your soul leave your body. plz listen to me.

There is no peace if you allow hate into your heart and soul to stay. I would say in anger too but anger can sometimes lead to peace, not the best method and should be avoided if possible before even being considered. Love can even lead to anger but without the elements triggering it not as common.

@OurNewestMember6 жыл бұрын
I've experienced it more like the video creator describes it: - Disenfranchisement leads to hopelessness - Hopelessness leads to neglected desires and expectations - Neglected desire finally leads to desperate outbursts ("anger") Here, suffering comes from behaving as if you are not powerful and worthy enough to realize your desires, not from the explosion to try to save your desires.

Having Samuel L. Jackson play a jedi master in the star wars prequels felt a bit strange to me. Jedi are supposed to embody the qualities of calm and order, but he, as an actor, usually plays overly loud and aggressive characters. Angry characters. So it didn't make sense. Until I found some of the lore. Mace Windu is a jedi that uses both sides of the force. Even his lightsabre is a combination of blue and red. So we have a character who is both orderly and chaotic, and calm and angry. But he doesn't let it control him like Anakin. Infact I think the two characters represent the two outcomes of anger very well: The ability to posses almost unlimited will and a drive to make a change, or to sink into hate and let it consume until you become spiteful, in your self afflicted belief that you are powerless to make that change.

All that is around us in the form of material are creations. All that humans have ever done and will ever do are creations. When we keep our minds open, we will become creative allowing us to take what is in front of us and change it. Why I live without stress, frustrations, anger is because. I am in charge of what I want to do and when my imagination cannot do anything with the creation in front of me. I let it go, I adapt to the change and flow with it.
