As a female I asked my grandfather who was born in 1899 about what is marriage supposed to be. I still like his answer as a farmer growing up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. He said, "It is two people pulling the plow together." Or in other words "Teamwork".

@@chiefwaukonImportant part but not necessarily a big part. The last 10 yrs before my husband passed his health problems and medication diminished our physical relationship but we grew even closer and loved each other probably more than we did when we were both young and healthy. Too much emphasis goes on to the “plowing” part and not near enough on the friendship, kindness and consideration part that can keep your relationship healthy and happy even if illness or injury prevents it. It was a great privilege for me to care for him and keep him at home until he died, but l still considered him to be the most desirable and appealing man ever, all the way to the end.

As an overweight woman I totally agree with you in every point. I'm taking off weight now because I have type 2 diabetes. I'm absolutely convinced that I can reverse this with healthy food, but the diabetic expert told me that once you have diabetes, you have it forever. I"m even more convinced now that the pharma industry and even doctors want us to stay sick.

Yes!!! You WILL cure it, claim it!!! I knew someone who CURED her PCOS, high BP and type 2 through changing her diet. She was told she’d never be able to have children. She lost over 200lbs and was able to have a healthy baby boy in her late 30’s… this was all in a matter of 3-5 years. (This happened 10 years ago, so I can’t remember). At some point she ate like 3 donuts and checked her blood sugar, it didn’t spike out of control like it used to. Im sure if she ate like that after a certain amount of consecutive days she could have thrown herself back into type 2 but she didn’t. So she believes she did cure her diabetes, so long as she kept her diet in check.

And “dating” apps are the primary form of social media responsible. Giving women sexual “liberation” was bad enough, and then giving them access to the top 20% of all men everywhere rather than just in their local area, has allowed hypergamy to run out of control. The top 80% of women all share the top 20% of men, and the bottom 80% of men are invisible to them…up until they turn 30 and their Arby’s beef flaps are all loose, they have tons of emotional baggage, and a kid each from Chad and Tyrone-both who never gave a flying fuck about her in the first place, and then they want to settle down with a nice, caring guy who will pay their bills and provide for them and give them all the privileges that a chaste woman of upstanding moral virtue deserves, while having lived a life where they put in none of the work, and took none of the personal responsibility, and had the utter lowest of moral standards for their personal character. And some men are dumb, and desperate, enough to give it to them. I say SHAME. Shame on them for rewarding these shameless harlots for their vile debauchery. SHAME.

I am a Gen-X woman and you're absolutely correct. Women now expect too much from their partners or potential partners. They want the partner to fulfill them and that's not how relationships work. If you are not fulfilled with yourself then you won't be with anyone else as it's not anyone elses job to do this for you. Young women do NOT understand this concept.

Men and women gotta stop being mad at each other and be mad at the high up people in society who brainwashed us all as children. I grew up in the 90’s- “girl power” was the slogan printed on all our school notebooks and folders. All the kids shows depicted females who were working towards independence and shunned the idea of marriage. The boys were listening and watching things promoting money and promiscuity rather than finding real love. That’s the real problem. Bjorn, this made me remember a conversation with my doctor in my early 30’s. At my checkup, he pointed out that I had gained 5 pounds over the past 2 years. I reacted pretty unpleasantly to his comments as I was still well within healthy range for my height. He said, it’s easy to get a handle on when it’s just five pounds. But if you keep it up, by the time you’re in your 50’s, at this rate, you’ll be carrying 50 or 75 extra pounds. Yes, it’s only 5 right now, but pay attention. I left his office pretty annoyed and thinking he was rude. I moved to a new city and ended up with new doctors. But as I crept up on 40 a few years later, the truth of his words were apparent. I did get a handle on it right then and realized he had actually been a brave and caring man to have spoken to me so plainly as he had. How lucky I was as a young woman to have a doctor who was willing to say what needed to be said (while taking care of it was still relatively easy.)

I was told by a woman doctor after a yearly exam in my late 30s that I already weighed as much as a woman of my height (five foot two inches) could and still be healthy. I was pretty shocked at that, because I didn't even consider myself overweight, period. I wasn't as slim as I was in my 20s and early 30s but still thought I had a cute enough little body. I wore women's size medium, and had no problem finding clothes I liked that fit. I played badminton, walked or rode my bike everywhere, did aerobics. I told her as much, and she said, "Yes, you are right, and I'm not saying you need to lose any weight. Just that, from this point forward, you should be very careful about not gaining any more. In middle age, your metabolism changes. You can't keep eating the way you did when you were in your teens and 20s, and not put on extra weight." It was a bit of a truth bomb. 20+ years on, I have actually gained more, now wear size L and have stopped wearing sleeveless tops, something I did all the time in my 30s, because I don't like the look of my upper arms. Still walk like a speed demon but if I have to run even a few steps for the bus I get winded. Badminton is no more. C'est la vie! I still have nothing against that doctor for telling it like it was. Instead of saying you’re “trying” and say you WILL get fit again, visualize and speak it into existence. Also practice gratitude for what your body CAN do. Sometimes what we tell ourselves hinders us from reaching our goals. I say that as someone who has been obese twice, due to the physical, emotional and psychological environments I was in. I don't know what the reality is in Norway, but in most places what he says about girls "being told that they can be whatever they want to be" is not true. That's just some mainstream media. I'm an Aussie health professional helping people eg to lose weight for one, for the last 25 years, to be honest today's lifestyle, increased responsibilities of women and men, and are a major barrier, even greater those who have children. This creates many barriers to losing weight when juggling and trying to find safe (ie can't go for jog after 6pm in winter) and enough time each week for the type of exercise or minutes of exercise required for weight loss to occur, in my experience only a low percentage of women are over eating, (& linked to eg mind linked eating patterns and increased hunger from high sugar frequency a week etc). Honestly most women are genuinely trying, eating minimal once they hit 30s or 40s on, yet weight loss doesn't occur easily due to a need to increase their calories burned more than their usual walks... luckily lower health risk for those overweight and a healthy eating pattern and active ( just not enough for weight loss to occur easily). I think we all need to remember the core of who we are, stay in present moment, let go of major visual judgements, otherwise we could go on and on for both genders, many people have grown beyond that, and still we will only be attracted to some. Its our energy essence we give, our heart, compassion, communication, team work, respect, self regulation, values, desire to do well for ourselves and the relationship, being non-judgemental in approach to ourselves & each other, (& heal past trauma reactions before the next one). Be more objective, like human resources do 😅, our ability to enjoy each other, be like-minded and suitable love languages, what we do for fun etc ... not about body weight, why can women be deeply in love with quite overweight men, yet not for men, this man's view I don't feel is for majority of men. I think some men and women are more grown in their ability to see past certain physical areas, its a belief of the mind. We all have areas to improve often. (live in Australia). (apology not naturally concise 😅)

Men do all the same things. In fact, it was men who were the "role models" for leading promiscuous lifestyles, this is why the magazine Playboy became so successful, because men wanted to be sold a promiscuous, hedonistic lifestyle, which is what the magazine promoted. If men didn't want women to be promiscuous, entitled, overweight, narcissistic, they should have been better role models when they had all the power and women had almost none, instead of being promiscious, entitled, narcissistic and money grubbing men like they were/are.

If a man needs real unconditional love then he should get a dog. A man is never going to get unconditional love from a woman. Women don't love with their hearts, they love pragmatically. I'm not taking hormones either. I've not had any problems with menses either which seems frighteningly common lately. That's the problem with this system, and also because once Men discover their value and take it back (that is if they ever lost it to begin with), let's just say this means crimson will start shedding on the streets from the so-called "fairer sex".

As an American women, I agree! Last year I had a health scare due to my weight. I didn't think of being over weight as attractive at all...I basically came to a point where I was "stuck". I wasn't grotesquely over weight but I was obese. I have since got "unstuck" and lost 68 pounds and am now below average on weight. My health has drastically improved. My energy has improved. My pain has drastically diminished! I am a stay at home mom now and last year I started wearing only skirts and dresses because women are being erased and I helped that happen unwittingly I many many ways ! I do believe true womanhood is under attack and true womanhood is healthy for relationships. Caring how you look and how your health is is a benefit to a women and her family. Being healthy, energetic, mostly painfree...means you have so much more to give to your family and yourself. Simply being skinnier doesn't mean automatic happiness in itself, but the benefits that come with it generally does. I also feel so much more lady like being smaller.

I would like to add that there is an attack on manhood too. There is so much strength in both sexes that is being erased. There is a beauty that was around decades ago that is no longer here...a balance. We can't change the world but we can bring that balance and beauty back to our own households. Be ready to be ridiculed by other people as you do so though. The people you expect to ridicule might not be the first ones to do so. Those I didn't expect to ridicule me have surprised me in my journey and been the first ones to do so. Hypocrisy is a confusing beast.

An extremely overweight, old, ugly man who has money will still attract women or be able to get younger women to be interested in him. Women are always judged by our age and weight/body size, whereas a man "matures" with age and aquires a bit of extra padding and becomes a silver fox. Women can't have grey hair or wrinkles. Double standards to say the least.

I once attended a wedding, the Pastor was the father of the bride, the couple two mid life, successful people joining in their second marriage, each. The pastor, after some readings said “so we see that Love is not an emotion, subject to daily, even hourly fluctuations, but rather a discipline of daily service, one to another.” I believe that is very profound, and in the years since, when I feel any sort of aggravation in my own marriage, try to bring that to mind, and consider how I can be more in service to my man, as he is always thinking of how to make my life easier. If we each will consider how we can be more for those we love, and our communities, we can create the world in which we live. There is no lack of equal rights in the Western World, but there is a lot of lack of equal responsibilities being born.

@violetroseish It works the opposite way with men. The more success a man has had with women the more desirable he is to other women. It increases his status in the eyes of women. It's a huge achievement for a man to get regular sex from multiple women consistently over a period of time. Even men who are eights, nines and tens have to really work hard to make this happen. A man's notch count doesn't effect his ability to pairbond with a woman. After only three sexual partners a woman's ability to pairbond is damaged beyond repair. The same rules never apply to men and women, nor should they as we are polar opposites.

first time i have heard it put that way but that is very accurate, to be honest i dont think p0rn is as gender biased as people think it is, and neither is the negative affects of social media, but overall i think comparing social media and its affect on society to p0rn is accurate. in some ways it might even be more concerning when you add in the fact that most people think all the social media crap is normal and innocent behavior. i have been part of conversations specifically about young people being on all these social media apps and glued to their phones all the time. its crazy how many people think not allowing your 13 year old to be on facebook is being "over protective" and some who even compare it to actual abuse.

Men's biggest problem is wilful single motherhood. The mother gets married to a manly man, then decides she doesn't like it because her friends get cold and jealous. She divorces, so she can "live her best life", dragging her sons and daughters through hell. Usually the daughter ends up better off, because the mother sees the father in the son and feels regret at leaving the real man who would help raise the children to behave properly. Things didn't start getting intolerable until Women's Suffrage in the US.

I wish I would have found a man like you. I am from the old school and was happy taking care of my family and farm. And I worked part time. He wanted that like that in the beginning. He loved my empathy and loving way. But now after 26 years I had to find out that he doesn't appreciate it anymore, is not thankful and wants to get rid of me. He tells me I was just a burden on him. He was verbally abusing me and the children for many years. Now I am broken. And nobody who didn't go through that can have a clue what it is like. So don't judge women. We are not all the same. And I think all the crap on TV got in mens heads and also changed them a lot! I wish I would have someone who knows what love is. Thank you that you said at the end there a still nice women out there. Because it really hurts when men think we are all "modern". I am not modern. I loved my husband so much. I did everything for him. Never had any wishes other than just a regular life. I don't spend money on clothes, make up or other female items. And I worked 24/7 at work and on our farm. And still got thrown away like garbage. I want to ad that women got always told being a stay at home Mom is not enough. We were pushed to work and bring our children to day cares. Just to be worthy for society. And that also destroyed families and marriages. And I was really mad that women tried to set an example how great they are being able to work and be a Mom and wife. It is a nightmare.

Unfortunately in our western society obesity is a problem for both men and women. It is not a women thing. It is more related to poverty and convenience, than gender. In an adjoining town to me, there are 4 outlets for just one particular fast food outlet. There are multiple other brands. A walk down the street would show a similar distribution of obesity across gender. Ant I don’t live in the USA.

People whoring around are whores no matter if its a "man" or "women". Theyre not true men if they willingly whore around. Same go for women. Its one thing if the partner is being unknowenly used and the relation ends then its not about whoring around for the one that was used. Maybe there should be a law that force together those that are whoring around so that they may only be with those with the same "bodycount".

Although I can see your point, men and women are fundamentally different. Meanwhile, a woman can get sex from a man without very much effort. This is the difference.

In my opinion, all of this can be traced to one thing. Narcissism. And narcissism is being purposefully bred and encouraged by the powers that be. Why? Because Narcissistic people do not work together. They view each other as rivals and enemies. They don't build each other up. They tear each other down. And they are doing this by destroying actual healthy unity dnd community and genuine human desire to work together. It's a weird and somewhat contradictory thing that's happening.
