I began my recovery February 1988, my reward has been abstinence, freedom from mental hospitals, prison, homeless & a life full of love. Lots of pain, but a way to live through the pain, The Troubles included, I identified with everything Lewis has experienced, thank you for sharing this. Blessings from Belfast James.

Well I tick all the boxes.diagnosed at 15 with schizophrenia in the 90s,which was wrong then the adhd thing started and my sisters said I definitely had that, now listening to this guy I’m 100% psychotic.I stopped drinking and drugs at 22 when my first child was conceived, under the influence I was a monster I think I still would be and the mad thing is my life mirrors this guy apart from the sexual abuse, but I was a pretty boy popular with the girl and every way scared of me including all the doormen and police.i look at pictures of me in those days and it makes no sense.but now I know I’m psychotic, the way I think is different to everyone else it’s great and also a curse is like being a mind reader and I’m always correct,I never think with emotion it’s always logical thinking

He has more empathy than he thinks. If i was a psychologist id diagnose him with more empathy than he thinks. He would not be doing the work he does if he had v little empathy. I have psychopathic tendancies but im also an empath. It doesnt mean you are a serial k...i love him hes a good guy. Blessings to him and his family

Hi Mr English, Thanks for yet another, different but equally interesting and important interview with lots of incredible insights. Many thanks for keeping your interviews calm. I noticed at the start that your interviewee mentioned some appreciation for the fresh air he felt you’d provide, & which you absolutely provided 🤍〰️🕯️(= love & ligh) Respect, Grace 🩰

Lewis thank you mate. You wouldn't believe how much of your story I can relate to. The addictive personality stemming from rejection and loss/trauma as a kid, being addicted to anything that makes you feel (sex, partying, work, violence, then later in life self development, golf, my career, literally everything) You have made me reflect on a lot of why I am the way I am and how I can deal with it moving forward. This was such an impactful podcast for me. Thank you again Lewis and congratulations on all your success. You are an inspiration pal.

Hi James , your podcasts are amazing. Unfortunately I'm at a point in my life where I've had all sorts resurface that I never knew affected me. I feel like I can relate to a lot of guests that have had trauma , for some reason especially Lewis. This past year I feel like I've been on a journey processing everything that happened and putting the pieces together. I just feel like I've hit such a low point that I can't go on like this. I've recently found myself a ptsd specialist and I'm hopeful she can help me as I dont want to feel like this anymore. My first session is Thursday this week.

@imonmyway317 yes and no I have very bad days and nights so I don't think it's a cure, it's more of an understanding of why I feel the way I do about myself , like , what situations to not put myself in and be aware of the things that are triggering me that in turn , make me self sabotage . Honestly , I would advise any one that feels they need help to reach out to someone... I was your typical "I don't wanna talk to someone" but if you're reading this. You have the courage also! It's not easy and I'm no way the finished article. The reason I went is because of my wife and children. I'll continue to go until I feel I've unlocked my true potential as I feel I have felt inadequate my whole life from being as young as 4 which I remember vividly. All In all I Hope my trauma has taught me enough to make sure my children never have to go through some of the stuff that I did. That's my mission.

Yeah, so interesting on many levels. Totally agree with the school implementations Lewis talked about, things are so outdated. Anyway, always great to hear about negatives turning into positives, I really appreciate that and James being the down to earth interviewer providing the space for it 👌

This discussion was perfectly timed for me. I recently realized my mother is a psychopath. Shes 90 now so too late to talk about it with her. She told me once that when i was born she knew that i hated her because i 'clawed at her breast'! She had postnatal depression. I was a natural birthing midwife for 30 years so i recognised it. She has told bizarre lies about me to my father and siblings to the point where my father cut me out of his will and my siblings dont talk to me. She is now trying to turn my children against me, telling them outrageous lies about me. I am working my way through this now. Thank you for a lovely informative talk, it has definitely helped me to reflect on my own experience. PS both your newborns need to spend lots of skin to skin contact with you. It will help you all. And facilitate the bonding between you. Love and peace Kate xx

Kate, with hindsight can you look back to your childhood and see how her behaviour and treatment of you effected you or contributed towards bad decisions you made? Have you received any mental health diagnosis? And has it effected relationships in general throughout your life?

When he talked about abuse in that way it reminded me of something that happened when I was younger. I think I was about 12/13 (female) and I had a female cousin who 18 and we touched each other. It was my first sexual experience and I’ve never known if that was ok or considered abuse. I mean she should have known that it shouldn’t happen. It’s like when he mentioned he went along with it, does that make you complicit or you don’t know right from wrong?

Borderline/Sociopathic tendencies due to abuse. No psychopathy here, it's in fact a little insulting and frustrating for all because it perpetrates ignorance and stereotypes. If anything my dough would be on his old woman by seeing some of the netflix doc.
