How can you say they wrote a good story for littlefinger in season 7? I guess that’s your opinion, but everything he did this season as far as Arya and Sansa was so convoluted and weak. And all the people that littlefinger buys off or threatens hanging things over their head, he just weakly gets betrayed and dies with no one defending him? When I watch this episode, I’m constantly turning its name “The Queen’s Justice” in my mind. And I think the writers play into this for every scene. But first, let’s talk about the Hand of the Queen. Tyrion shines in the episode because he demonstrates his strength in negotiations. Whether it’s barbarians in the Vale, slavers at sea, or two stubborn monarchs at an impasse, he’s constantly asking the question, “what do you want?” He never stops looking for ways to build bridges and finding ways to align goals. He differs from Littlefinger here because he invites collaboration between parties. The barbarians got their steel from Tywin; Tywin got to use them as a vanguard against Robb Stark’s army. After Jon Snow’s first audience with Daenerys goes sideways, Tyrion sounds him out, looking for something, anything, that the dragon queen could offer him to show a measure of good faith. (He did something similar for Catelyn Stark when he sent Littlefinger to her with Ned’s remains to negotiate for Jaime’s release.) What a coincidence that Dragonstone was built on a mountain of dragon glass. The episode begs the question what is the Queen’s Justice? It seems to ask the characters (and us in turn) this question. For Cersei, it’s about revenge, power, tyranny. Punishing your enemies in the cruelest way possible for slights both real and imagined. Show no mercy, because none will be shown to you. We see this in the way she takes revenge on Ellaria Sand and her daughter after their capture. It’s also demonstrated in the Lannister’s sacking of Highgarden and the execution of Olenna Tyrell. For Olenna, the Queen of Thorns herself, it’s about avenging the death of her House. She waited until after taking the poison from Jaime to confess she arranged Joffrey’s murder, just to twist the knife (and also to throw Cersei off-balance, no doubt). For Sansa, it’s about protecting the North, her people, her home. And also her refusal to be the vehicle for Littlefinger’s ascension to the Iron Throne. Ever since taking back Winterfell, she’s been constantly fighting back against his machinations. Plotting Jon’s coronation as King of the North, openly protesting against his departure, trying to get Bran to take over as Lord of Winterfell. Anything to keep her from being used again while also trying to do the same for her family and home. No doubt she’ll become as fearsome as the Queen of Thorns once was, governing from out of the spotlight in her old age, too. Dany is finding out meaningful justice from a queen is more complicated than declaring a birthright and issuing stern edicts enforced by the threat of force (and dragon fire). She’s learning through Tyrion effective governance is a two-way street. If she wants her subjects to listen and trust her, she’s going to have to extend to them the same courtesy.

@kennethsmith87885 ай бұрын
That said, she took credit killing her husband King Robert. She does share some responsibility for Ned’s death, too. Joffrey took many of his bad cues from her bad advice, and when the opportunity presented itself, Joffrey didn’t hesitate in the slightest before ordering his execution. It’s probably worth mentioning that I don’t think Sansa blames Cersei personally for everything, but as the ruling head of House Lannister she bears responsibility for Ned’s, Catelyn’s, and Robb’s deaths.
@cassandramcbride70075 ай бұрын
Cersei didnt had the direct hand on it, but she instigated every possible way she could. Plus, while some males that were never blamed, or they hide their clues, like Tywin in red wedding, or they were just trying to conquer the throne like Stannis. Nowhere in the process both examples enjoying torturing or even having pleasure in others suffering. Not only Cersei never hide her moves, she took pleasure seeing others in such bad positions, and having the superiority feeling above her victims. Tywin and Stannis were never true villains. Cersei was and she was born as a man, she would be like Ramsay or Joffrey...

If you want your words to be worthy of quoting, or your actions worthy of recording, say and do different things. Or don’t. Most of the people that do, aren’t very nice. The world tends to reward greed, lies, and evil by remembering them. Even the supposed good ones like Mother Theresa surrounded herself with the sick and dying because she thought being near suffering was an act of holiness, and the places she built were less centers of healing, than places for the dying to die. For me, trying to touch the lives of those I meet and making the world better than I found it, is a lofty enough goal, I one day hope to realize. Peace.
