The Kaabah in Mecca was kept as the Muslim epicentre because otherwise the pagan Arabs would never have accepted Islam -pagan Arabs merely kept observing the same practices in the kaaba only minus the idols -it kept them happy -they could imagine the idols were still there -a masterstroke!Most pagan Arabs rejected Islam as soon as Muhammad died and had to be forced back by Abu Bakr.

Anyway it's like comparing oranges with apples -the Bible is a huge book by comparison with the tiny Quran and is really a library of books spanning thousands of years and no Christian believes it was written directly by God or that it has existed from eternity -they believe merely that God inspired the individual authors and that then the church declared which books were to be considered as inspired.Proving the authenticity of the Quran is therefore an infinitely more difficult task especially in light of the fact that the bits and pieces of the revelation had to be retrieved and assessed.Just because a particular text is preserved means nothing -Sumerian texts in cuneiform tablets are perfectly preserved too and much much older -does that mean that the religion and mythology written on them are true?

*jaco han* I read Spencer's book, Did Muhammad Exist, as soon as it was published, and he uses much of the material that Jay presents, but in written form so it's easier to review. Same scholars, same damning research results, and I think my jaw hung open through every page. Spencer and Wood also debated this topic, and that must still be somewhere in KZbin. The evidence Spencer compiled (from other researchers) is very compelling to consider, but has little effect on Islam's danger. As long as Muslims believe Muhammad existed, therein lies the age-old problem of Islam. When you read, or listen to, Muslims, it's clear they need no evidence, nor truth, nor even sanity in their Quran, so they all fly around by the seat of their pants, whistling past the graveyard, willing to slaughter all who reject Islam. Maybe our current crop of scientists needs for develop a vaccine cure for stupidity, but evidence makes no difference to any Muslim I've ever had an exchange with.

I have watched your whole video. I was shocked by your claims that early Quran manuscripts are not in line with today's copies. Based on your suggestions in the video I also watched your debate Shabir Ally but not the first 50 minutes, I watched the discussion in its entirety. Why should I make a conclusion just based on your one sided comments? In my opinion Dr. Ally stood well and made great points. I expect you to give reasonable answers to his claims but which are apparently lacking. Anyways, I believe to find the truth we need to be objective and not blinded by our prejudices and assumptions. Therefore I decided to find out the book "Mushaf-ı Sherif" written by Prof. Tayyar Altıkulaç. It turns out that the conflicts about which you are making a big fuzz and based on which trying to prove that Quran is lacking authenticity, are mainly grammar or dialect variations. They are different writing practices within Arabic when there was no common authority to determine a governing correct way of spelling a word. These writing differences usually are result of the repetition of the same word being written differently. Most cases occur due to single letter within the word and it is usually the silent "elif" or "ye" or "vav" which serve to elongate the vowel sound. In other words they don't effect the meaning. It is the same meaning written that way or the other. There might be very rare occasions where the reproducer due to lack of attention, misspells a certain word and it gains a different meaning. But thanks to God we have more than just one early manuscript of the Quran you can easily compare different copies and come to the conclusion that it is a misspelling. Based on all these facts I think you are deliberately misleading Muslims. I don't believe you honestly defend the idea that today's Quran isn't intact. In fact it is the most intact book in the entire human history and that by itself is a miracle of Allah where he fulfils his promise of safeguarding in the Quran (mentioned in the Quran as a verse). Lastly I want to quote from Prof. Tayyar Altıkulaç's book - the author who wrote the book on top of which you are basing all your arguments. In his book called "Vahyin Korunduğuna Satırlardaki Şahitler" (can be translated as: The witnesses of preservation of revelation in the lines) after examining multiple ancient manuscripts he makes the following conclusion: "This manuscript (referring to Topkapi manuscript) starting with بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله رب العالمين and ending with من الجنة والناس which has been written about 13 centuries ago is in total agreement with the copies around the globe that is read by everyone. More precisely, the copies that are being read today are the same with this manuscript. It is obvious that the issues such as the missing of two pages or the spelling differences that can be observed in various countries or periods, being present also in this manuscript are not contradicting with this conclusion. It is natural for any text, written by hand to contain such differences. As it can be observed the Holy Quran has been safeguarded not only by its reading but also in written form and by its spelling." So that is Altıkulaç's conclusion. And he is making the same conclusion again and again after thoroughly studying Semerkand, TIEM (Turkish Islam Works Museum), El Meshedul Huseyni (in Cairo) manuscripts. So based on obvious evidence I invite you all to appreciate the fact that Quran has been safeguarded by God and it is the same manuscript that we have today. Praise to Allah who is Lord of all worlds/nations that he is guiding his sincere submitters.

But I agree that the meanings of the Quran as a whole stays largely consistent. But very far from perfect. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers , and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray." (QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 136) أُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْكٰفِرُونَ حَقًّا  ۚ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا "Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.

Michael Wallace yes I believe in these verses. In fact as a Muslim I testify Quran being word of Allah. And I dont see your point about what being claimingly problematic in these verses. If it is the point that disbelievers being threatened by hellfire, this I dont see as a problem because the whole process of life is an examination from a muslim point of view. We have been granted with choice and intellectual capacity to be able make our own decisions and we are responsible and accountable for the outcomes as well. And the biggest and most grandiose of of all purposes in life is to appreciate Allah and to worship him. Because is the very reason that we exist andwe owe everything to him. So first and foremost duty for humans is to worship him and accept him as he presents himself to us not just according to our own desires and interests. And Allah presents himself as described in the holy scriptures Quran being the last and the originally preserved one. And people being well informed about scriptures and still rejecting them will be held responsible. This verse is a warning and reminder for those people. Nevertheless it is Allah's final verdict that will determine final outcome. He preserves the right to forgive whomever he wants and he says he could forgive any sin except associating partners to him.

In all his ramblings he forgot to tell his listeners that the Qur'an right from the time of Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has been memorized by heart and up till today there millions of Muslims who have memorized it. The question that needs to be answered is in all the extant manuscripts of the Qur'an are there contradictions like the one that is found in the bible. The challenge offered by the Qur'an is still open Do they not then consider the Quran carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradictions.

It is not my aim to hurt you either or anyone else. Habebe, you are saying that the bible is corrupted. Why do you say so?! I do know the answer because I heard that since I was small - all the muslims keep saying that and including imams. The fact is however that this statement does contradict the quran. This is because the quran ACKNOWLEDGES the bible to be Gods Word, for instance, in verses Quran 3:4 and also 10:94. And most importantly the Quran states that God/Allah protect Gods word from any changes, amendments etc.: quran 6:115 and quran 18:27. So the Bible is acknowledged in the Quran as true Gods word free of any changes and corruption. So to claim otherwise as a muslim is a contradiction against the quran. Anther valid point is that the Jews and the Christians share the same book - the Torah (Torah and Injil is the Bible, so the Jews follow the Torah and Christians the Torah and Injil). To claim that the bible is corrupted would mean that the Jews and the Christian are corrupted which is a quite arrogant statement to make, considering that muslims do not share any book together with them although islam actually claims the Quran is just a "third book/revelation". This somehow doesn't make sense. Habebe, the fact that the bible was translated is not an issue. It is the meaning that is important and not the exact word. If you are not sure about one verse of a particular translator, you can always get the same verse form a different translator to grasp the meaning. Take into consideraton that those translators are jewish/christian scholars. Or you can always learn Hebrew yourself to read in original language! Otherwise it would mean that all the qurans translated into other languages are useless too! So the quran faces the same issue brother. And if you believe that quran indeed needs to be read only in Arabic, then you encounter another problem which is that the vast majority of muslims do not even read and understand Arabic which would make the quran inaccessible for most muslims. Look, the christans are very honest about their beliefs as there were actually them who started the critical and unbiased research on the bible. Most o the critical books on the bible were written and published by the Christians. And yet the bible stood and withstood all this criticism proving to be a reliable book. This cannot however be said about the quran as no researches have been made so far about quran. It is just recently that those researches started. And yet, most muslims are trying to shut them down. In the past people were killed for making even a critical statement against the quran to include muslims who were looking at quran from an unbiased perspective just in order to reasearch it. However now, the researches are going on and the truth is that the islamic claims about the quran being a direct word of god perfectly preserved have fallen. Brother, these researches are not fake as most of them have been done by muslim scholars as well as by Arab speakers. We need to be honest about it that lots of things regarding the quran were hidden from the world and from muslims so far and that many things about the quran do not add up and do not make sense. And regarding the name islam - brother, islam doesn't come from the word salam (سلام) which indeed means peace. Islam is derived from the root verb istaslama (استسلاما) which means 'to submit' or 'surrender'. Habebe, I hope you are not angry with me. I understand if you are upset, but please forgive me. Muslims are trying to defend the undefendable. The differences in the different Qurans, do have DIFFERENT meanings. But even if the changes were only words, the Quran would still be corrupted because -not one can change the words Allah has used. Any changes to what Allah has revealed would corrupt the Quran. That is not the case with the Bible because the Word of God is Jesus. The Bible as opposed to the Quran, is not one book but a collection of books - no chapters, but books, INSPIRED by GOD - not dictated to a messenger like the Quran. It has different authors which means that every writer can use his own words to describe THE SAME event. What matters to Christians is that the meaning is THE SAME - the SAME story has the SAME content. But the Quran cannot do that because it claims that what is written comes directly from God "word by word, letter by letter", and that is where it fails misserably - as it has been proven FALSE. Allah does not exist, it was Muhammad's invention.

And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment." وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَلَمْ يُفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ أُولٰٓئِكَ سَوْفَ يُؤْتِيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ  ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا "But they who believe in Allah and *His messengers and do not discriminate between any* of them - to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful." (QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 152) فَإِنْ كُنْتَ فِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّآ أَنْزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ فَسْئَلِ الَّذِينَ يَقْرَءُونَ الْكِتٰبَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ  ۚ لَقَدْ جَآءَكَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ "So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then *ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you* . The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters." وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِئَايٰتِ اللَّهِ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الْخٰسِرِينَ "And never be of those who deny the signs of Allah and [thus] be among the losers." إِنَّ الَّذِينَ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ "Indeed, those upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect will not believe," وَلَوْ جَآءَتْهُمْ كُلُّ ءَايَةٍ حَتّٰى يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ "Even if every sign should come to them, until they see the painful punishment." (QS. Yunus 10: Verse 97)

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِى وَمَا نُعْلِنُ ۗ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍۢ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ (٣٨) "Our Lord! You certainly know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on earth or in heaven is hidden from Allah." "what he revealed" would make absolutely no sense in this context! ------------------------------------------------------ وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ (١٥٨) "Whether you die or are martyred-all of you will be gathered before Allah". Q.3:158 فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ (١٥٩) "It is out of Allah’s mercy that you ˹O Prophet˺ have been lenient with them. Had you been cruel or hard-hearted, they would have certainly abandoned you. So pardon them, ask Allah’s forgiveness for them, and consult with them in ˹conducting˺ matters. Once you make a decision, put your trust in Allah. Surely Allah loves those who trust in Him. " Q.3:159 Again, here it makes absolutely no sense for the Muslims to "not be " gathered before Allah, when it has been promised in Quran and hadith, multiple times, that our souls are to be gathered and judged!
