What is more alarming is the reversion to Islam from among the priestly Christian community and the number of churches being converted into mosques. According to the "doctor" and his little minion, if you're writing a book, by hand, and make glaringly obvious mistakes (2:46 a missing word without which the sentence doesn't make sense, 3:30 "repent to G" corrected to "repent to God", 5:28 an obviously missing letter, clearly incorrect text they didn't even bother to cover but directly wrote overtop of the mistakes, etc...), neither you nor anyone after you is allowed to review and correct those mistakes. Jay Smith doesn't know Arabic and doesn't understand how the Qur'aan is preserved and transmitted. So let me make just a few points: 1. The Qur'aan firstly and foremost is oral, not written! Written texts, what are called mushafs, have always been just a secondary backup. In short, the written word is secondary to the oral recitation. 2. Even in the oral recitations there are at least 7 official major recitations with minor variations between them. 3. None of the variations, really trivial that they are, written or oral, change the number of chapters in the Qur'aan, nor do they change the order of the chapters or verses, nor do they add or omit any verses. So what, Dr Jay, are you talking about? Moreover, did any of these minuscule differences, which you make all kind of grand assumptions about, result in any significant changes in the meanings of these verses? Did they, my friend? If so, then please show us. If not, then all your observations are nothing but polemical nitpicking.

It just doesnt add up. Islam had a schism over the succession, and to this day Shias and Suni are apart. If somebody had moved the holy site from Petra to Mecca, there would have been another war and schism. There has to be a sect with this memory up to this day in order for this accusation to have context. Am not dismissing the evidence, but it does point to a paradox and hence a deeper mistery. I will be happy to hear refutations to my point.

What of the argument that so MANY believers memorized the preserved Quran that any written errors can be easily caught and corrected. i.e. these manuscripts are the evidence of their corrections that bring them in line with what was memorized.

I am questioning the Islamic claim that tens of thousands of Muslims have memorized the entire Quran word-for-word. Children begin memorizing Suras about age 3. They enter contests about it. It is a highly prized accomplishment and garners the family much respect. I'm speaking from the Islamic perspective, not comparing it to some modern take-off of the gossip game. By the way, the Apostle Paul had memorized the entire Torah by heart. Paul (Saul) was a learned student of Gamaliel, and Gamaliel required his students to have memorized the Torah before studying under him. Remember, prior to mass printing, most information was passed orally, so accurate recitation by heart was highly valued.

It's not the same as with paintings. There would have to be a complete or partial image underneath a layer of oil paint. Here the text has been blurred, so if you x-ray it, it would still be blurred. Oil paint is a lot sturdier than ink. But if you wipe and blurr oil paint, you can't x-ray it either. I don't know what the Arabs used in those days, but it surely was possible to erase texts you didn't like or didn't fit the narrative.

Maybe those paper are scrap from an interpreter student who that struggle to interpret to find correct words, so there are many fault,some was erased, or kids who learned how to read and write Quran, and the kids make so many fault and be corrected by their teacher... yes its a simple and logic explanation.

Did you know that all of the fragments you showed I'm sure they are students writing pad in an old islamic school that was learn how to read and write, so there are so many fault and their teacher corrected it directly on their paper work, we all experienced in our elementary school how did we make so many mistake, we arased(tipEx), and then re write again, or we got a helping hand from our teacher to make it right br adding the word that we skip etc. so all of your present in this video just a school scrap they found everywhere, no such a big thing in it....just students notes..Please vist a Madrasah (Islamic school and you'll find more papers like that until these days.... There are 6 early Qurans, all incomplete, all 8th Century, none 7th Century, all different from each other, not one of them is the Uthman Quran sent to the 9 provinces and they also differ from the 1924 Egyptian Standard Quran. So which one of the 31 Quran's that differ from each other do you use?

Hey Mahmud, why have the Yemen Government not released all the early Quranic manuscripts discovered in 1972 at the Mosque in Sanaa? Are they hiding something? only the German scholar Gerd Puin has been allowed to look at them. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sana%27a_manuscript The last few lines of that web page are Reynolds concludes that the Sana'a manusrcipt is ”our most ancient manuscript of the Qur’an [and] does not agree with the standard text read around the world today. So Sanaa manuscript does not agree with the standard Egyptian 1924 Cairo Quran. Why is that?

Mahmud: No I don't think that is a Bible. The Bible consists of Codexes, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Uncials, Papyri, the Septuagint, the Latin Vulgate and other sources. The oldest date-able copies are sources to the Old and New Testaments. Some of these sources are mere fragments, some are whole books of the Bible. Because papyrus was expensive 1900 years ago, it is no surprise to find that text was wiped and a surface was reused. Such documents that were reused more than once are called palimpsests. Now iti spossible using ultraviolet light to find out what the inferior and superior text says. For the Quran there are 6 early Qurans, all 8th century, not one is the Uthmanic Quran (as determined by 2 Muslim scholars), none in 100% agreement with the modern 1924 Cairo Quran. What would interesting would to find out what are the sources for 1924 Cairo Quran. In the case of the Quran, historically, I know of 2 palimpsests.

MISTAKES IN BIBLE: (a). 2 SAMUEL 10 - David slew 7 hundred chariots of syrians. NOW, 1 CHRONICLES 19 - David slew of the syrians 7 thousand men which fought in chariots. So ACCORDING to bible, 700 = 7000 (b). 1 KINGS 7 : It contained 2 thousand baths. NOW, 2 CHRONICLES 4: It received and held 3 thousand baths. Again, 2000=3000 ACCORDING to bible. (c). 2 CHRONICLES 9: and Solomon had 4000 stalls for horses. NOW, 1 KINGS 4: and Solomon had 40000 stalls of horses. Again, 4000= 40000 ( biblical logic) Conclusion: GOD'S MATHEMATICS WAS WEAK in bible😂😂 Or maybe it's not GOD'S word coz god's knowledge can't be imperfect. Decide yourself. James 1:13 says God tempts no man but Genesis 22:1 says that God tempted Abraham. Are we saved by works as well as faith? Ephesians 2:8-9 says no and James 2:24 says yes. muslims presuppose that we affirm our scriptures are from God because that is how they view theirs but we never said that. our scriptures are from men who were inspired to write them and of course human work will always be imperfect ,especially when it involves several writers

So my point is, if they say Quran is wrong, then they should also call bible wrong as it has more mistakes. Instead, they target Quran only; but they have never examined mistakes of their own book or maybe they are hiding those blunders.

@@RealLife-dp9dd Quran was revealed orally, no letters, no print. Hardcopy is latter invention so that non Arab to learn to recite quran. I can memorise some parts but hafiz as young as 7 years olds can memorize the whole quran. the debates on version, letters, marks, manuscript lost, are irrelevent because hafiz( a person who memorised quran) never see a hardcopy quran. By the way, quran is recited daily in our prayer. every year in the moth of ramadhan the recitations are checked. Hafiz from other countries or states are invited to check the recitation. The swedes, russians, and indonesian recites the quran identically.
