I am glad to see a hobby store step up and help a great guy out. RC’s are a little of everything from scalers, bashers, construction, boats, planes and even scale Rat Rods. It’s whatever we like and want to build... and to have an awesome company see that and help out with parts to make someone ‘s dreams come true. This is another awesome build! Congrats Josh. Keep up with these builds.

I am so pleased to have been a tiny part of this build. You really knocked it out of the park, someone is going to get a real work of art, I hope it goes to a worthy home!
@RCeveryday6 жыл бұрын
Every time your involved in a project it gets knocked out of the park 😃. That grill shell was perfect and being so thick it allowed me an easy place to put the servo.
@JasonSuterOssum6 жыл бұрын
Haha, you overstate my importance. I'm glad that grille worked out though. Its amazing how tough the shapeways nylon is when you thicken it up a bit.

Bit of a hassle, but 1/2" square with the back decked off works great. I found the easiest way is to get a length bout 600mm long, clamp it in the mill with 2 vices and parallels under and take the corner out on either side of the top (longways) with an endmill. Do the whole front side then just move er over and do the back side. Itll get awefull noisey towards the end but just grab the loose bit and give her a gentle tug to dampen the vibrations (ehhh, dont do this while your boss is around) you can keep ahold of it till it comes off. You wont get pulled into the cutter. Amazingly! Then give it a quick linish and boom! C rail. Also you have a nice peice of flatbar too use too.

Sweet looking rod. I would love to see that in my RC collection. I don't have any rat rods. Just crawlers. On a second note, I could listen to that sound track all day. Plus I could get more Texas dirt on it.

How much do you charge to build something like this and if you do how long does it take very curious awesome
@RCeveryday4 жыл бұрын
I really dont do builds to sell. This unit has about $1200 in parts alone, took around 4 months to complete. I have so much time in them most people wouldnt pay enough for me to justify it. I have turned down offers over $4000 on the #2 ratrod truck. If I ever have the chance to get this one back I would jump at it, its the only one I havent kept. lol

Have you tried...just going down to local A/C shop or HS??? They have metal plate bender so they can fabricate vents/ducts...to their needs..Just ask them to make you some. HS or local college might have those metal bending machines in metal shop. Mine did. Take your R/C cars down to a local HS..it'll get the kids interested in metal works or give them idea to work as a project.

Use shrink wrap or upholstery thread. With the thread wrap it around the first wire then twist it to the next until the last one and tie.

What is that axle called I know I’m late but I want to build something similar.
@RCeveryday2 жыл бұрын
The rear axle is an Rc4wd yota2. This particular front axle is different than all my other rat rods and unfortunately isn’t available anymore. The one I use now is a 1cm drop version of the tamiya 1/14 scale semi front truck axle. I find them on eBay.

It would be best to make a jig out of thick steel plate with welded tabs to position your chassis on. You could mark all your measurements on it to keep everything square. I still need to make one for myself.

Man she looks so sweet. Well done bud. Must be a registered user you mean have an account with RC4WD? Just to clarify. Witch I do. And place an order with them this month. So how will RC4WD know that whom ever wins the rig from placing an order is one of your supporting viewers and not just one of RC4WD's regular customers? Just curious? Because that would be a shame if it didn't go to one of your supporting viewers and went to some random customer that has no clue who you are. Just saying. Anyways This one turned out great. Really impressed how much learning curve you've over come. Keep it scale bud. :)
