Every KZbin Channel needs a good, old-fashioned villain. Welcome to a new series I’m doing where I, definitely biasedly, defend video game villains as though I were their attorney. Be sure to argue against me down in the comments below, but be nice. This is all in good fun.
I had a lot of fun making this show, and it’s something I’ve been working on off and on for over a year, but to see it finally have a solid episode is really exciting. DOOM may not be the most algorithmically-excellent franchise to choose, but 2016’s DOOM was one of my favorite games to come out that year. And as you can see from the camera shots, is way more gorgeous than it has any right to be.
I wanted to do this topic, because, well, DOOM obviously really fits with the themes of the show, but also as soon as I was playing the game and they were like “yeah we’re extracting energy from Hell” I was like “OH BOY I CAN DO SOMETHING WITH THIS.” Also I just...adore Sameul Hayden, and any excuse to hear his voice more is chef’s kiss

Actually, apparently in the 2016 one, instead of a bunny being offed, they tricked him with a false promise to heal his son, in exchange for revealing the weakness of his side. They mutated his son, and that's how the 2016 Slayer's story is...I watched a couple playthroughs and that's what I could remember.

I object completely on the point of the Doom Slayer being a Terrorist, as the Doom Slayer had continued his war against Argent, who had apparently no intention of calling for a cease-fire, as punishment for Argent's invasion on his homeland giving justifiable cause for war, nevermind Argent's other acts of aggression. Also, I would like to note that Doom Slayer had been forced to defend himself against the slew of Argent citizens that had taken over the Mars base thanks to Dr. Hayden's manipulation, and I believe entirely that Hayden's bringing of the Doom Slayer to his base was specifically to repel the Argent invasion without giving the Doom Slayer any other options but to do so. This is supported by Hayden's knowledge of the Doom Slayer's past war versus Argent due to the artifacts that Hayden had stolen from Argent, and is further supported by his apparent fanaticism of the Doom Slayer. The Doom Slayer, having been a Prisoner of War, I believe is therefore still entitled to reparations received from Argent for their crimes against his people and his imprisonment.

It isn't propaganda. It is just that he was working with data from Earth's perspective. Once the slayer gave him the codex, however... It was a quick case. The Doom Slayer goes free as the Demons have no legislation about warcrimes and invades Argent D'nur first, the UAC gets sued to hell and back for their gross misconduct, and the Demons recieve a war declaration for their anti-human conspiracy and subsequent invasion. The Demons needed a lawyer, even if it was obvious they were going to lose. He was the public defendant unlucky enough to get them. Successfully getting a conviction on the UAC is impressive, seeing as he was defending LITERAL HELLSPAWN.

Granted, the natives were far from the peaceful proto-hippies pop culture pretends they were, but in terms of their own war-mongering being an issue that was mostly colonists backing one tribe against another until the natives were too spent to be a problem. There has literally never been an agreement between the US government and a native american that hasn't been violated later, almost invariably by the American side of the deal. They'd say "we need this land; go here instead," and then a few years later they "needed" the new land too.

Alright, let me place myself in the shoes of the judge... Not to mention the footage recovered from the Mars site, further proves these entities are perfectly capable of resisting capture. It was, to their advantage, it was part of their will. This is not the first time they attempted an invasion. That much is clear. The Doom Slayer, as they call the criminal in question, is indeed guilty it seems. Guilty of betraying humanity. This seemingly immortal entity, according to the recordings OF the demons, describe him as a vengeful client, who they themselves double crossed and is now actively serving his sentence of being a single handed equivalent of the black plague with no cure, upon demons. Your client is entirely at fault for conspiring against mankind, for repeatedly attempting to invade our lands. Well said. Yes the UAC is guilty for what they did, but the demons of hell have shown that they are monstrous and they thrive on violence, death and destruction. They are guilty of warcrimes against humanity. Slayer, while committing crimes of his/her own is probably the sole being that can save humanity for good against demons and their blight against humanity. Next he/she should turn on UAC and wipe them out as well. Whats cool about this whole thing is how gray everything is, not black and white. Not, "demons are evil, humanity is good" No. Humanity is both fucked up evil and tranquil good. Demons are violent and dangerous but no doubt they have passions, loves and the like themselves. They are spawned, not born and made for war. But they had a right as well (by human laws anyway) to defend their home and their possessions.

Problem with declaration of War, the UAC most likely supplies most of the weapons for Earth's military forces not to mention providing POWER for said military forces as well as the rest of the planet. With the Rift closed, the planet will once again spiral into an energy crisis, which AGAIN requires more resources to remedy, which will take generations. They didnt steal it. Both sides waged open war. The remains of the night sentinel - commonly refered to as the Doom Slayer - agreed that they should have it as he has long before been an agent of them for pay. His payment - ressurection of Doom Slayers Son - has been paid in full. The response to this is truly overwhelming. I chose a topic that was honestly not going to be favored all that well by the KZbin Robotic Overlords, but was more thematically-appropriate for a first episode given it's literally, well, you know what they are ;). It got so few views because the channel was basically dead when it came out. Most of the subscribers from the channel had been there before Austin was ever on the channel, and they were ok with his videos but they were here for the old lore videos. So when the guys who did that left, the channel went down hill and died. This was Austin’s attempt at reviving it, but by then few people noticed
