DeVante Smith I am not hating on Marvel, I love their movies but you gotta admit they would never make an R rated Ghost Rider film which is why I think they should use the version of Ghost Rider they have in Agents of Shield and make a Netflix TV show. walt lock While there are R rated comics "Alias" and "Punisher War Zone" being prime examples. They are the exception not the rule. Fox has made two R rated movies out of PG-13 rated material and the Blade movies have been made up from a very limited amount of material so they took liberties. I don't have a problem with making R-rated movies but Ghost rider has never been an R--rated character and the MCU isn't an R-rated franchise. If they did make an mature Ghost Rider it should be a stand alone because he would clash with the rest of the MCU.

Jake The Snake The idea of Ghost Rider on Netflix isn't horrible, but it also doesn't really work in practice. Ghost Rider wouldn't have other characters to help ground the show so it would become prohibatively expensive very quickly. He is also traditionally a character that is in the South West and California (Robbie Reyes) with fantastic but expensive to make villains. So him crossing into the Defenders realm isn't really in the cards. I personally want to see it, but I don't see how they could do it on Netflix and still make a profit.

Byron Horde not necessarily. As far as I know none of the Ghost Riders from the comics were bonded to the same demon. In the Sony films (and the books) 2 of them have existed at the same time. They don't have to reference any previous version if they don't want to. The biggest issue is Marvel Studios is in the middle of ending a storyline that started in 2008 and starting whatever follows the Infinity War films. Then there are the issues of tone and budget. A family friendly vengeance demon doesn't sound very good. He's not on AoS anymore because it's too expensive and it's not like he helped boost their ratings. The Netflix shows have been all practical in terms of fx and their budget isn't that that big. Who could you afford to be in it when a huge chunk of the $ is devoted to just giving a guy a flaming head? The most likely option is a MCU cameo followed by a 90min Netflix film. It's too bad Sony doesn't still own him or else Marvel could just produce one for them to pay for.

Only problem is Ghost Rider really only has one connection to the Avengers team, not going into his connection to the various members, and they fought. Avengers 214, GR vs The Avengers, and he technically won. So as he was never an Avenger it wouldn't make much sense to put him in an Avengers movie. I'd love if they did, but he wouldn't fit. He didn't even fit with The Champions when he was a founding member there.

The rights to Ghost Rider reverted to Marvel only recently, and he is (as Robby Reyes) already in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD TV series, where Johnny Blaze also makes a little cameo. Of course, Marvel studios is not going to make the earlier two movies canon and do a 3rd Ghost Rider movie with NIc Cage. NIck Cage was 90% of the reason they flopped. The story was a mashup between Johhny Blaze[GR #2] and Dan Keetch[GR #3]...The first Ghost Rider was the cowboy version briefly mentioned in the first movie. Cage was not bad ass enough to play Blaze and not young enough to play Dan. FYI The Agents of SHIELD Ghost Rider is Ghost Rider #4. If they did a story truer to either Blaze or Dan it would be great.
