I distinctly remember when I was a kid, reading “the rise and fall of darth Vader” and thinking it was very weird that the book described anakin disappearing into the force once he died when the films didn’t show it.

I think by the time he fully became Vader (in the suit and all) Anakin was filled with so much inconsolable rage and guilt that he couldn't hear anything from the light side of the Force. Only after seeing his son with his own eyes was he able to let go of his pain.

Love the videos man! Qui Gon is one of (if not) my favorite character(s) in Star Wars. Also, perfectly cast in the movies. I wish he didn’t have to die in Phantom Menace but he was a great protagonist in that film.

Just another thing, jedi who can appear trough the force where ready to die and willingly disappeared trough the force. Qui gon was fighting against Maul not trying to die while luke, yoda and obi-wan accepted that they would die. In the case of obi-wan it could be argued he had disappeared before vader’s saber even touched his skin.

I think in Truce at Bakura, Luke recalls Vader’s body vanishing on the shuttle ride back to Endor.

Vader was mostly machine, you had to break it down for Anakin to pass on. Qui Gon was the first in a long time to do this technique, so he wasn't as proficient. After he died, he learned more and passed on the knowledge.

I figure Qui-Gon and Vader were killed while Kenobi and Yoda chose to "die" on their own. (Vader was sick and needed the suit and hatred fueled darkside power to survive)

I like your idea. Kenobi and Yoda were at the end of their lifespans and chose to die at peace with themselves - kind of like reaching an ultimate state of nirvana. Qui-Gon and Vader, however, died of violence as opposed to peace.

vader never learned from qui-gon after his death like obi-wan did, he didnt join the force before death like obi-wan did, it wasn't just his armor being burned, he was being burned, just like qui-gon-jin

Anakin didn't learn the technique but yet he become Force Ghost. SW have a lot of inconsistencies because they just do whatever they want and don't care about continuity.

Why? Because Qui-gon didn’t threaten the enemy (like Obi-Kenobi) or fall into death (like Yoda) or he wanted to Jedi to take action believing (rightly so) the Sith killed him

Probably shouldn't be showing cinematics from SWTOR while saying Qui Gon was the first Jedi to become a Force Ghost. There are a ton of Jedi (and at least one Sith) who became Force Ghosts in that game. In an attempt to consolidate that contradiction, I like to think that the Jedi of ~4000 years before the Clone Wars era knew how to become Force Ghosts. But the knowledge was lost over the centuries.

Fair, but that game isn't canon. I love the game, but the lore is more like a self contained story that takes place within the star wars galaxy.

Luke burned Vader's body. It's clear from the original trilogy that this it so. Obi-won and Yoda vanish immediately after death.(Although, I believe Obi-won vanishes right before Vader's light-saber strikes him) Anakin does not, we see Luke drag him onto the shuttle. So I hate to contradict that Jedi Vs Sith book out there, but film trumps books. Also, I think George meant to tie Qui Gon and Anakin together this way. There is a book that says Obi-won teaches Anakin quickly before death, but I like you're explanation better.
