I'm old school and like how my grandmother lived with us, even after she got Alzheimer's and stayed with us for 2 years until it wasn't feasible for her own safety. (She was the kindest, sweetest and unbelievably respectful, polite woman ever. Until she got Alzheimer's and then she started to curse and make fun of people which at first was shocking to say the least. But super hilarious because her mind wasn't gone until the end. She just lost the function to edit herself which was more than fine by me as I was 14 years old and it was actually one of the most special times of my life in terms of how I look back now and miss her very, very much) So I'll be living with my mother and Trust me when I say personality wise she is not my grandmother, in fact the exact opposite. Still, doesn't matter as I'll always take care of her until I can't. However, the fact that I can't afford to lock her up somewhere, super doesn't play a factor in that decision I swear to God!! I don't have children but my sister does, things are going to be super hard for them in the future, so I couldn't imagine taking what left of the family nut in terms of personal care & I couldn't imagine them taking care of me so I figure it's probably going to be a chain and an anchor with a short boat ride when I figure it's no longer an option to take care of myself......... With any luck, the War on drugs will be over and I can at least enjoy my last few months surfing on heroin cause Morphine's a Drag!!!!

My parents were active and vibrant until my mother died at 91. My father started his decline. Without my mother, he didn’t socialize well and the church they worked so hard with forgot he existed so he stopped going. His hearing got bad, he developed dementia and became combative. Right before his 99th birthday, we had to put him in a memory care unit because his aggressiveness meant he couldn’t stay with my brother and his wife (who bought a new 1-story home with a separate living space so my dad could move in). Covid stopped us from visiting and within a few months he passed. He had only lived there for 6 mo. Loss of hearing cut him off from the world and his decline sped up because of it.

i love Lewis, I really do, one of the greats, but the standup itself, IMHO, just isn't that great and hasn't been for a while. Of course, could be a personal taste thing, a change of style or a change of what I like without my knowing it, but I do think there's something slightly missing, or there's not quite the pazazz there used to be. Could be age of course, but I don't know, maybe a change of format or media could be in order? Maybe tiktok rants? xD
