wow! this got a lot more views than I anticipated! thank you all for watching :') I just wanted to clear up one thing i've seen commented a couple of times. My usage of the word "fall" in this video is talking specifically about her public image as it relates to the general public. I'm definitely not saying she "fell" out of touch with fans or saying that her music "fell" in quality or commercial success. I just used the albums at the bottom of the title cards to show, chronologically, where she was at in her career at the time of each phase in her public perception. Definitely not calling any of her albums flops, ESPECIALLY rep that's one of my all time fave albums lol

It's hard putting your thoughts and opinions out there isn’t it? If you don't put a whole paragraph explaining what you meant to say with just a few words then people take offense and think you’re a horrible person. Then when you do explain that you meant no harm it somehow makes everything much worse and you get hated on more. It's tough out here. Taylor asked to hear the song and thats only when Kanye told her abt the lyrics. He eventually didn’t send her the full song, thus Taylor never approved the song. If you read her Rolling Stone interview in 2019, you’d know that she’s uncomfortable with their “friendship” since before the VMAs regarding some things he did (i can’t remember exact what, go read the interview) but she brushed it off cause she didnt want to be the difficult one. Anyone who knows Taylor would have known, that Taylor had way too much PR, people were tired of hearing her name, and seeing her face, she was oversaturated in the public eye. She even said something like this on that phone call. The last thing Taylor wanted was more PR. Taylor was planning to take a long break from the public eye, before West did what he did. Because too much PR is a bad thing. Taylor got all the PR anyone ever wanted, by just walking outside, and buying a cup of coffee. She didn't need PR. West did though, he needed the PR, because he was releasing a album. He was using her to get that PR. That's why he was secretly recording the call, making it look like she approved of everything. Taylor trusted West to do right by her, because they just rebuilt their friendship, and she had done a lot of work to do it. So she never thought he would stab her in the back like he did. That's the reason the video of the call was edited, to make it look the way they wanted. Taylor doesn't attack people, she reacts to people attacking her. The media twisted everything she said, and did, because negative stories was clickbait gold, they made millions lying about Taylor. They tried their hardest to tear her down. Anyone who wasn't a real fan of hers, only had what the tabloids were saying, and they believed every single thing. While her Swifties, knew what was the truth, and what was bs. Taylor couldn't say, or do anything without it being twisted into something bad, and the haters on forums were so insane, I swear they were being paid to bad mouth her. Out of around 200 songs, only around 8 songs are about ex's, and only 2 of those were zingers. For someone to say, that Taylor only writes songs about her ex's is revealing you have no idea what your talking about. It's the same as saying they read the tabloids. Taylor has always been open with her fans, and they know her so well, that they can see the bs a mile away. Back then, Taylor couldn't go anywhere without a camera on her. She could never be the things the haters called her, because there would have been video proof of it, and with all the haters she had, they would have happily posted anything bad they could find.

@@taylorspolaroid7730 Taylor has a lot of haters, who believe every negative thing that the tabloid rags said about her. All any media company had to do was put Taylor's name in the headline, and it was money in the bank, and people love to read hate more, and it's easier to write it. During Taylor's 1989 era, SHE WAS EVERYWHERE. It was like you couldn't walk 10 feet, or go 10 mins without seeing something about her or hearing something about her. It was Taylor 24 hours a day. Eventually, people will get tired of constantly having her in their face, and really start to dislike anything to do with her the moment they encounter her. All that PR she was getting would start to backfire on her, and instead of raising her Star, her Star would start to quickly drop, and that's the last thing you want. So, this whole West thing happened, when a lot of people were getting tired of seeing nothing but her all day long. You know the saying, too much of a good thing. Taylor also didn't need to do stunts to get PR. She literally, could walk out of her house, walk down the street, and buy a coffee and a bagel, and be on the front page of everything. Even gaming webpages were putting her on the front page. Her name was money in the bank. West needed PR for his new album, and he wanted to get back at Taylor for his past bad decisions. So he put this plan into actions.

i don't agree with what you said at 5:50. it did NOT appear to be like this at the time. everyone who watched the video could tell that kanye was at fault, people just didn't bother to actually listen because it was fun to jump on the train of hating her. the power uninformed, angry, (incel) internet trolls have over a narrative is actually incredibly chilling.
@stefanmakara3733 жыл бұрын
this!! Not only that but after Tayler asked for the footage where Kanye told her she'll be called a bitch, Kim didn't provide it, she just hid smugly behind the trolls. Anyone with braincells could see it was a setup.
@racheljordan20203 жыл бұрын
I agree. The narrative was clear from the beginning, people were just choosing not to listen.
@stefanmakara3733 жыл бұрын
@@lbcn04sloc28 I think the point that they are trying to make is that it was obvious who was lying at the moment- as in, people who jumped on the hate train weren't "confused" they actively chose to hate Taylor. Because yes, the internet pretty much hated Taylor at that point in time. However, it wasn't due to the unclear details, it was because of an agenda. I say this because atm I wasn't a fan of Swift personally, but I listened to the available audio and read both statements and I pretty much called bollocks on Kim's story.

Great job! I really liked this video. I especially like how you gave outside context about the state of society/ politics racial or otherwise surrounding the dialogue of these moments in her career. It's a very complex issue that I'm glad someone dived into and I'm also glad that now we have a full arc for this redemption tale or rather as my mom says "You can outlive a lie," or as I say, "You can't outrun the truth." Really well done! :D

I will quite literally never get over how WELL taylor orchestrated her comeback. the guts, poise, and confidence that that must've taken! she had the whole world against her and she still managed (or perhaps it is the reason) to drop this incredible, iconic, targeted album defending herself but also celebrating her newfound love! love love love love!!!
