jackiemoon12341 understandable. I don’t blame you. Hearing a voice as good as his who wouldn’t wanna sound like Jonny? Damn I even wish I could sing like him just for my own pleasure. But I wouldn’t trust Jonny with a one dollar bill lol.
@jamescanady34424 жыл бұрын
@@exteeriority4349 One of the most important points here is that it wasn't Jackie's job to look out for herself in this situation. Jonny was the famous entity, with an extensive fan base, with a very high level of influence over his fans, and a very high level of trust that they felt towards him simply because of his position, and look what he did with it and look what he did to her (and not only her). Jonny wasn't just another acquaintance that she should have scoffed at the idea of giving money to. He was supposed to be an idol and an example as he attempted to portray himself as, and arrogantly allowed himself to feel and believe that he was. In reality, he was/is a manipulator, a crook, a fraud, a thief, a toxic human and entity, an addict, and just a bad human-being in general. He took advantage of his fans and the people around him, and I'm sure that he still does. So don't make this about Jackie and how she wasn't "wise enough" to know better at the time, especially because she was probably a young and impressionable person when Jonny took advantage of her and scammed her. The girl wanted to better her life, career, and skills, and Jonny helped to deprive her of that by leading her on and taking money from her that wasn't his, all in the name of getting some more heroin. He's a pristine example of how shitty people should not be given fame, popularity, or the power of influence. The worst part is its all because the dude sings well. Most people fail to realize that if you take lessons and dedicate enough time to it, most people can end up just as good as Jonny Craig. And with that being said, you realize how singing well really just doesn't make you that special in reality. And honestly dude, your blame-shifting comment makes me think that you're probably not that much different than him when it comes down to it.

Dude is a total piece of shit. Look there aren't many people in this world who I would swing on the second I saw then. But jonny is definitely one.
@jayvance13144 жыл бұрын
I'd also like to add that I am a former heroin addict myself. So I understand. I never stole from my friends or family. I just about always had a job. I had a rough child hood which made me look for an escape I suppose and drugs were that and gradually tried harder and harder drugs and never got addicted to anything until heroin. I was in and out of treatment centers for about 5 years. I know have just under 3 years clean from everything except for 2-3 beers once every few months. Not very often. I do not like getting drunk or blacking out anymore. Once I got to know myself and love myself a lot. Since I did not really recurve that love as a kid I had to learn to love myself and that is what helped me not want drugs anymore. Anyways back to jonny. I do not believe he didn't know what he was doing or shit like that. I've been heavily on the same drug and you know what youre doing it's not like say a heavy black out from alcohol or xanax. I never stole from anyone luckily I never got to that point. I do not believe his BS though. He knew he could convince fans to send him money and in his delusional mind he thought he wouldn't get caught. Were not dealing with the smartest man ever here even when sober I would guess. But my point is do not accept the bs that oh I was high I didn't know what I was doing!! It's bullshit. You know what you're doing. Although maybe the dude goes manic when he uses drugs cuz I've heard stories of ppl walking in on him writing on walls with his own blood and totally being in a complete different world which even ppl extremely high on multiple drugs at once u do not see much. Don't let him off the hook. He deserves every bit of back lash. I believe that people change. But he's on his 1,000th chance and just cuz I believe in change doesn't mean I believe in just forgetting about their past. He did it. Hold him accountable. Imagine all the people who were prob young and didn't have much money and jonny fucked them. Imagine all the ppl who wanted to buy a Mac book for a friend as a gift. Then it never came. Drugs are no excuse. Of course I with he gets help and stays sober I wish that for everyone who is struggling. But that's his problem. Nobody else's. & Nobody is entitled to having to forgive him for going to treatment. I've seen jonny post a ton of things acting like ppl owe him forgiveness since he's clean. Nobody owes anyone anything. Hes manipulative and a manic POS from all of his exes and former friends stories. He needs to change. It's nobody else's problems and do not think all former addicts do the shit he did/does cuz we don't. You still have feelings and emotions and morals even when addicted to heroin. He CHOSE to take advantage and manipulate fans and for that I think he should have been canceled. He doesn't deserve the type of career most would call a dream career.

@@patrickcard2678 how'd that work out for you? I guess it's better than stealing someone's granny's pills, but probably super dangerous. Love this channel and this docuseries!! I had the exact same experience with DGD in my freshman year with DBM2 and I have always loved the dgd lore. You have done the best documentary on all of this of anyone and I love watching this and reliving those memories. Thank you so much, can't wait for part 3!!!

Man, I freaking love this type of content! I'm happy that someone took the time to piece all of this together for everyone to watch. You did a great job, man. I have never, ever, ever supported Jonny Craig. One of my childhood friends was in VersaEmerge and after going out on tour, he came back with horror stories about some of our "idols." One of them was Jonny Craig and he explained how just plain crooked the man was. I just couldn't support him. The only thing that I could get behind was Isles and Glaciers, because he was only a portion of what comprised that band. And when they failed to come up with a full album, I figured it was because of Jonny. Anyways, I'm looking forward to part 3! This is some epic stuff. And dude, if you need any ideas, I'd love to know the whole Copeland story or the issue that Brand New and Taking Back Sunday had back in the day (I think Adam slept with Jesse's girlfriend or something along those lines)!

@@nogrecords Without Chino's voice, the song wouldn't be what it is. The entire song is ear sex, but that ending man... all of the different set of lyrics being sung at the same time is amazing and gives me chills because of how beautifully chaotic it is.

This kind of music was never my favorite, but my best friend was in a band that played Warped Tour one year. I spent so much time at their gigs in small clubs basically as a roadie during their come-up that I grew to genuinely really enjoy it. Your videos take me back.

I got into DGD in 2011 also, just after the release of DBM2. What you were saying about listening to the album and having your perception of music being shattered was completely relatable. Hearing a song like "Heat Seeking Ghost of Sex" was so new to me (as did the rest of album). Thanks for making this vid bro, much appreciated.

This series has been crazy interesting. I was born and raised here in Sacramento. Throughout high school was always a DGD fan. I had heard plenty of stories about everything, online and through friends but never this in depth! Never knew so much happened and so close to home 😂 and I was also totally at that show you included the snippet of where they were playing at the Ace of Spades! Jesus. The nostalgia. Can't wait for part 3 lol

i was on that warped tour and he was such a bad influence he tried to get the younger bands on the tour to do drugs with him cant tell you how many times i found my singer in a back lounge of the bus with him, i was also there every morning emorosa played and they were awesome even if it was at 10am so shout out those dudes
@rosalina27732 жыл бұрын
This is why I hate when people make excuses for his bad behavior because he was a drug addict. Yes, being a drug addict can make you behave badly, but his behavior went beyond that. He had a repeated pattern of trying to get other people addicted to hard drugs, and to me that is unforgivable. Even just a few years ago he got his much younger youtuber girlfriend addicted to heroin and ruined her life.

I had an ex who loved them and I avoided the music for a while but hearing the Jonny era got me into it then the rest of the discography blew me away after I got over the hunch of not listening bc my ex lol. Now seen them live multiple times 10/10 thank you cozy ❤

Amazing vid as always man. I truly loved this one. My only criticism (which is few and far between because you go into such detail!) is I wish you would have gone into more about Jonny getting kicked from Emarosa because they said some NASTY stuff about him after that initial statement. Haha and I’m not referring to the Bradley stuff.

Been a fan of DGD (and with them, Jonny) since 2007, a few months after DBM1 dropped. Great job with these videos, you just about got everything. I traveled hundreds of miles out of state to see DGD in Worcester MA, days after Jonny got the boot on the All-Star's Tour. They performed as Secret Band that night but it still crushed me. I was under the impression when Jonny rejoined that DBM2 was supposed to be something of a "farewell album", and that after a few shows the band just had their spark relit. Just was the vibe I got at the time, and I was following them heavily during this era (and I still am, they are easily my #1 now. Planning on going to Swanfest next year all the way from NY). I still consider Jonny as an incredible vocalist even if his personality is mercurial at best. His voice is golden and the thematic elements of his lyrics hit home for me as well, we seem to battle some similar demons & past issues (although I've never had a heroin addiction). His "prime" was something unreal, man. You had to be there to really "get" it. Talent like that is so freaking rare. Thank you for the videos man, like I said, excellent job!
