If you ever do an Austin and Ally retrospective, you have to mention the way in which the show got a season 4. I was a part of the fandom from season 2 to the end of the series so I remember it all vividly and I'm sure I still have tweets from that time up on my twitter account. Basically the show got cancelled as they were around the end of filming season 3, so the season 3 finale was written to be a series finale. Fans didn't want the show to end yet, naturally, so there was a big campaign to get the show a season 4. I'm talking the official Disney accounts on twitter (and maybe other social media idk) blocked a lot of people for constantly tagging them in season 4 campaign tweets. A ton of other fans sent letters to Disney, wherever that would be idk, and so on and so forth. Just before the season 3 finale aired, Disney caved and re-renewed the show for a 4th and final season. So we all got to watch the "series finale" and be relieved that there was more to come (which, thank goodness, cause even if s4 is the weakest season of the show...the actual series final is perfect and a heck of a lot better than the s3 final). The creators of the show interacted with the fandom a lot on twitter so they might still have tweets up from this time too, they were called Pickles and Pancakes, but their handle may have changed in the last 8 years.

It is so wild to me to hear about how big Teen Beach Movie was. It even had a whole event in club penguin and had Pentatonix do covers?! It's surprising how this movie had so many ties to things I loved but I had no idea about any of this at that time simply due to not watching Disney as much at that time or playing club penguin anymore. Now here I am revisiting my old loves and learning about these things that I wish I knew about back then.

Feel like besides the awful forgetting everything ending this could’ve just been so much better if it focused on Taylor and Layla, like that was the only thing that hooked me in for the movie when it came out cause brady and Mac’s stories were done I do think Layla making the story her own now that she’s more complex was nice tho, sad it came at the expense of LITERALLY EVERYTHING

It's kinda cool that the cast performed on DWTS around the same time Riker was a contestant and ended in 2ND PLACE (i remember how devastated I was watching that final haha, but Rumor also deserved that win so it's ok).
