The 92 is an outstanding weapon. When I began my law enforcement career, my agency issued Beretta 96's and I loved that handgun. Another great attribute of the DA/SA is holstering. Be it a Beretta, SIG, CZ, when you drop the hammer, you rest your thumb on the hammer when placing the pistol back in the holster. If anything happens to get in the trigger guard, you can feel that hammer start to move so you can rest and figure out what the issue is.

Agree 100%. I'm not a Policeman but I carry a Beretta 92FS every day and reholstering is DEFINITELY an attribute that goes largely overlooked.

Picked up my first Beretta last week (a 92FS). Ironically, I traded in a spare 1911 for it. Really impressed. It ticked a lot of boxes for a semiautomatic pistol that I didn’t even know I had. And the fact that it was John McClane’s gun and 100 times sexier than a Glock didn’t hurt either.

I just bought a beretta 92fs over the weekend and took it to the range for the first time yesterday and i am in love with it. I been shooting a Glock 48 for 3 months now and with just 1 range visit I’m alrdy shooting the beretta much more accurate. I was worried because I’m only 5’ 6 with small hands but it actually is not an issue at all for me.

Great video. I would never part with my M9 and would let my strikers go before my M9. For me it just works and feels like it is part of my hand. My friend also just got his CCW in CT and his first handgun purchase was a brand new M9A3 for the house and range. He enjoyed shooting mine so much, he got one and he shot a bunch of other handguns as a comparison. The one change I made was a Beretta D spring, which I love and it has remained 100% reliable. Great handgun.

My introduction to the 92FS was watching a fellow cadet limp wrist one into FTF mode over and over again on the range. He bought it solely off of being the LAPD sidearm at the time. It scarred me and as a result, I never bought one. That was 21 years ago.

Another thing I'll say to anyone who owns Beretta 92 series. Do not dry fire them without snapcaps. I dry fire my weapons for training, but I did break a firing pin on my Beretta M9 a while back. Ironically I caught it just before I was going to conceal carry it for the day. Just decided to put a few full metals through it for fun and it just went click.

92FS and M9 has always been a fine piece of weaponry. One of the reasons why I still carry my 92FS or 92X as my edc. The problem today is that most people want to look like an ODA and have all the unnecessary red dots, weapon lights and gadgets on a plastic gun. Just because it looks “tacticool” doesn’t mean it’s necessary. I’ll take my 92 over any striker fire pistol.

Got my M9 four days ago. My first gun and the I could’ve bought 18 years ago but before I could bite, my old company kicked me to China for 8 years….where you can get shit for shit! Came back, a 1.5 year old in tow and another boy baking in my wife’s belly so no guns! Now that my boys are older, I was finally allowed to get my piece! Today, went down the local range and put 85 rounds down the barrel. Was smooth as butter. Caveat though. After my first 30 rounds of Fiocchi, I bought another brand box, Atlanta Arms without thinking. Turns out those were 143 grain and my M9 instantly hates it! Simply put, 143 grain rounds just don’t generate enough recoil to allow my gun to work properly. Tell tale sign is the last round, the barrel couldn’t travel back enough to locked in place. This also screwed the slide operation, which meant of the 50 rds I fired, at least 20 either stove piped or got jammed. Quickly bought a box of Blazer 115 grain since the shop ran out of Fiocchi. Hope the Blazer work just as well cause the 143 grain rds sure didn’t. Also, a couple guys were shooting their Sigs and one of them got curious and came over cause he always wanted to try out a Beretta. I handed my piece and both guys put 6 rounds each down the tube. I got to try out one of their tricked out Sigs on return. They love my M9! They commented that even though the gun is heavy, the action is smooth as silk and really comfortable! Most of all though, they absolutely LOVE the small recoil! One of them actually just went, “holy lord! The recoil feels like…nothing!” I shot the Sig. It’s super comfy and felt good but damn! I commented that thing kicked like 30% more than my M9 and the guy nodded his head and said, hence why he got curious on the Berreta! It was a nice exchange. I’ll definitely hit the range more and put more rounds down the tube! This is a very nice hand gun! So nice I’m putting my own Sig purchase in favor of an AR-15 next!

@@matthewrobinson4323 uh huh....we can compare 214's anytime you would like. I wasn't a badass who went to Vietnam but I did go to Afghanistan and I wasn't drafted.. it was my choice. 🙂 Furthermore, your comment has no bearing on the topic at hand. Now I'm sure you were trying to somehow give yourself credibility by stating that you were in Vietnam. First off let me say thank you for your service. Second off allow me to inform you that it means absolutely Jack shit whenever it comes to sidearms. If you were in Vietnam you would know that the Colt 1911 45 was not issued to every single swinging D. Now your time frame you were probably issued the M14, however shortly after that the issue was the M16 and the m16a1. Which fires a .22LR size round, that happens to have more power behind it. Ask any Grunt, including myself..... Would you rather go into combat with a 7 round magazine? Or would you rather go into combat with a 30-round magazine. Every single one of them will tell you a 30 round magazine. The myth of being bigger is better has been debunked for over two decades. at the end of the day it comes down to what kind of ammo you're using and where your shot placement is at. You know it's funny because fudds run their mouths about 9 mm rounds yet not one single one of them will volunteer to take one to the chest. So I guess it really isn't that poor of a round after all? Ps..... My first duty gun was a Glock 21 in 45 Auto. That gun still sits on my nightstand. I love the 45 Auto. But saying the 45 is superior to 9 mm with today's bullet technology is absolutely asinine.

@@matthewrobinson4323 first off I really doubt you have any military background if you believe that less rounds are better for combat....let alone Vietnam. Second, the majority of people ended up in Vietnam did not volunteer for it. So that's not really a far out thing to conclude. Anything else?

Great evaluation of the Berretta 92fs/M9. I generally prefer 45acp and other higher powered cartridges in Glocks, however since alot of my recent shooting practice has been more focused towards target, self defense, and action style shooting. As well as the research I've done I'm looking more into the Berretta 92fs and M9 pistols. I've never actually held a Berretta 92fs or M9 but I prefer a thicker grip (hence the double stack 45acp/10mm) something that apparently many individuals dislike would actually be a positive aspect for me.

I'm just not a fan of the Beretta 92/M9. Didn't like it when I was in. And as of today, nothing has really changed. I don't find the grip all that pleasant. About as much girth as a Glock 20/21, with a trigger reach that is slightly worse. I utterly detest slide-mounted safeties. The open-top slide is another thing I'm no fan of. I don't like the current trend of window/lightning cuts in slides. So this is just more of what I don't like. Then there's the whole semi-exposed trigger bar. Yet another feature or design aspect I'm not impressed by. In short, I just don't care for the Beretta at all. My distaste aside, this was a good video, Matt. Keep up the great work. S/F
