I can relate to “California” although I do feel like I belong somewhere (outside Missouri) now. I also adore how fun “Hot to Go” is and how it has a little dance. I discovered chapel from her tiny desk performance, I was scrolling KZbin and I saw this girl with drag make up and a big ass wig and thought it was interesting to check her out and I’m so glad that I did. I am not sure if it’s my Venus, Gemini or my Libra moon but I am in love with this girl lol she definitely feeds into my queer side that I been questioning for the longgeesstttt I relate to her heavy on the whole fantasizing about girls when she had a bf. I’m going to be honest, her music is a hit or miss for me. However, this girlie has everything to make it big. She has the vocals, the performance aura, and artistry. Unlike her other peers, she is releasing music that is fresh, new, and unique. You can tell she has worked her ass off to get where she currently is and it is only going to go up from here. Many new artists lack a sense of identity but she manages to showcase herself in an artist manner while still being authentic to herself, it does not come off as she is portraying someone she isn’t. I got to say you can tell she has been waiting for this because her performances are so well crafted. Although I can’t say I’m 100% fan, I do enjoy some of her music and I am rooting for her.

that pivotal moment could be looked at from many angles. i'm skeptical that what she's doing now is not following trends or trying, because everything she's doing is soo extremely gen z tailored. i don't doubt it to be authentic to her, but choices are still being made of what to highlight to ignore. as a gen z gay, i feel uncomfortable being marketed to so hard, but a 9:5 bop to ballad ratio on the album??? man that's hard to beat. the prechoruses on naked in manhattan, feminonomenon, and pink pony club can't miss. good luck babe is the best though, because it just keeps on building, the bridge is so powerful and i love the pettiness shining in 'i told you so' - amazing pov that we rarely get to see. big guilty pleasure hours.
