I think she chocked on a peanut or something during one of the rehearsals and they decided to keep the sound she made, but that was the extent of her contribution. joking aside.. she is just an " artist" singing music that others made for her to sing. Well, they did not specifically make it for her, but they chose her to sing their music. To help sell the product they will say she " wrote and/or contributed lyrics", but that is usually just to convince people she is a "musician". But, I have to say that she did her job very well.. it fits her; she looks that part, and she sung it as it should be sung

Not everything is for everyone, and this is certainly not the pop music we are used to. But on an objective basis, this is a skilled performance, showing command, precision, and expressiveness.

I'd say she's a celebrity kid that defies the Nepo stereotype. She actually has talent, and doesn't need her famous parents to lift her up. Nepo babies often lack talent and willingness to work hard. They settle for short cuts to fame.

@@RnBReworked -- Short for nepotism. She has famous parents, but her talent is so much greater than anything either one of them has shown, IMO. Although she has some cowriters on some of her songs, she can play the guitar and sing simultaneously, and sing beautifully at that. And she's not afraid of complex time signatures, unusual chords, etc. When that first "Whip My Hair" song came out, I mistakenly dismissed her music as only getting attention because of her parents and their money. But she has absolutely proven me wrong.

I'm almost 70. I have never loved a band so instantly. I cannot help hearing echoes and strains of Joni Mitchell in Free Man in Paris, except afresh and anew, somehow modern. My favorite part of Willow’s performance(s) is that she appears to be having the best time ever. We’re so used to existing on the vibration of misery (or being around it) that it’s super rare to see someone enjoying what they do this much. Makes me want to be more intentional about creating space for more joy in my life. After all, we’re only guaranteed one ride at this thing.

It's pretty clear how heavily produced and pitch corrected her music is despite trying to make it appear "raw." This live performance is not just being shouty to be quirky, it's also way off pitch. Despite that, I think the songs are awesome and super creative

@@jayenvarma Zach is also the keyboardist for the indie psychedelia band Arc Iris, while the female guitarist Liso Lee is the lead guitarist and singer of South Korean alt-rock band SE SO NEON. Willow just brought a bunch of awesome talents here! Edit: I made mistake. The female guitarist isn't the one in SE SO NEON, she's a different person and the one in the S. Korean band is actually called So-Young. I mistook her for So-Young because they both look similar, my apology😅🙏
