KCMO is lucky to have a young, smart, passionate, approachable Mayor like Quinton Lucas. Too often Mayor's are older and out of touch. As a fellow Millennial, He seems to understand what it takes to keep moving the positive momentum of the city forward, and trying his best not to leave less fortunate residents behind. And Kyle is a great promoter of the city/Metro/region in addition to a realtor Nice interview. Onward and upward, KC. Looking forward to the streetcar expansion(s) 🍻 P.s. Kyle, you look far too young to have a 17 year old and 2 other boys! You're doing things/living right 👍🏻

@wigs9848 Definitely! I don’t agree with all of his politics, but it’s refreshing to have a mayor like Q. I appreciate the compliment and thank you for watching 🙏🏽

@@movingtokc yeah you're never gonna have a "perfect" politician anywhere. But if a city has a Mayor as set on putting KC on the map/awareness of all of the good things happening, and trying to make it as good of a city as it can possibly be, he's doing a much better job than most. Like you mentioned he's all over promoting the city whether it's the opening of the new soccer stadium, KC Chiefs celebrations, etc. He seems to put in a lot more hours into the job than most milquetoast mediocre mayors heheh As Mayor Q mentioned, other cities such as (nearby to me) Buffalo with the NFL Bills are getting over $800M in public money and it's another friggin outdoor stadium! Should be retractable roof for that price of taxpayer money. Sports stadiums are a taxpayer shakedown but if you can capitalize on outside tourist dollars filling the hotels, bars, restaurants, local shops for events then you get some benefits back. Looking forward to watching all of Kansas city's progress. 🍻

Years ago when I would tell people I was going to kayak on the river people would say “it’s gross” and “why would anyone want to do that?” It’s the reason the city exists, and I agree with Mayor Lucas that world class cities embrace their natural features. The tough question might be what are you doing about the continual rise in crime in KC. This video paints a distorted view of the downtown area. You wouldnt catch me down there in the evening for anything. Lets face it your video is about attracting money to a dangerous city. I realize most cities have challenges and a positive outlook is always welcome but a reality check is in order here. Foremost the lack of safe parking is a huge issue. I went to a concert some years ago and had to walk miles to park in a lot that i ended up getting towed from with no signage. I had to pay $250 to a crooked tow service that was protected by KC Police. Im sure ill get ridiculed for saying this however its the truth. Ive lived south of KC all my life and all you have to do is watch the local news to see the problems this city has.

I really hope theres a continued push to make more and more affordable housing outside the main city. I would love to consder having a kid with my husband but even our one bedroom apartment takes most of our money we could save with. I suppose in that vein, even though I know it would piss a lot of people off, a rise in minimum wage here would help tremendously and actually encourage us to spend on what's local instead of whats the cheapest(or not spending at all). At this point, having a kid would be the worst financial decision to make for us, not to mention the kid would suffer for that. I assume most would agree if thats the case for many people, then something needs to be done to remedy that. Either way, I appreciate the work you put into this video.

Spending all our tax dollars on white pylons, reducing traffic from 2 lanes to 1, building off shoots so you're forced to parallel park, no Uber pickup spots so people are forced to get picked up in the driving lanes. Money spent on all this and the planning of it. Broadway seems to be in constant shambles.

Although downtown has gained some population, the downtown loop has lost jobs over the last 20 years. It went from about 44K jobs to 34K jobs.
