In 1994, two men were found beaten to death in a bar in Oregon. A safe filled with cash went missing. In an attempted robbery gone wrong, detectives set out to find the heartless killer. Two years later Edmund Emerick was arrested for the brutal murders. In Michigan, an elderly man is found brutally bludgeoned to death.
The New Detectives is a documentary true crime show that features reenactments of events surrounding a murder and follows police departments as they solve cases using forensic science.

Sad cases like the one with poor Mr. Rogers happen prob daily , mostly undetected when chosen another manner of killing, for example poisoning an elderly person without relatives. There is a good chance they can get away with it.

2nd story, to be sat for yrs in prison cos greed got you to kill an old man when you could have worked & got by on less $$s hopefully will torment her & snowballs into a realisation of her evil act that she's made aware 24/7 & every day is pure hell. My condolences to the victims loved 1s off both stories.

Emerick was a walking red flag, always looking for an easy life. But sinful lifestyle will not get you anything good, but only your downfall. This lowlife was working for several bars, and still didn't make enough money. If you live your life like a PIG, then you will be treated like one. The cost of greed for other's money and taking away their life, is the cost of your own life in jail cell or even death by law enforcement.

Poor Mr. Roger, his caregiver didn’t care for him at all except for the money that she robed from this man. Mr. Rogers didn’t deserve to die in such brutal way. Very sad. What I don’t know if this man had any family. The good thing about Michigan is that when a murder is committed, the perpetrator(s) are sent to prison for life without parole. A very excellent law in my opinion. Rest in Peace always, Mr. Rogers 🙏💐

I wonder what happened to Sharon Zachary’s husband and her family after being convicted of first degree murder. Sharon was not a caregiver, she was more a “caretaker” helping herself with the money of Mr. Bob Rogers. A true taker, my goodness. They don’t say anything in this episode but Sharon and her whole family went together on vacation with all the money she stole from this gentleman. I wonder if Mr. Rogers had any family. That still is a mystery. Sharon should be ashamed of herself taking advantage of an 81-years-old man. She is a thief, a murderer, a liar, a taker and an evil and vile woman who was driven by greed when she killed this poor man. She is in the right place, and in Michigan without parole is definitely without parole. But as they always say, criminals are stupid and make mistakes and Sharon did too. Thank God for that so she was caught. These detectives were sharp! They knew it was more to Sharon’s story than what she was saying. These detectives read Sharon to the T. Awesomely done ✔️ Kudos to them. 👏👏 Rest in Peace always, Mr. Bob Rogers 🙏💐
