“Country Honk” by The Rolling Stones
Producer: Jimmy Miller
Composers: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Lyricists: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Associated Performers: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Mick Taylor, Charlie Watts, Byron Berline, and Nanette Newman
Lyrics:
Sittin' in a bar tippling a jar in Jackson
And on the street the summer sun it shines
There's many a bar room queen I've had in Jackson
But I just can't seem to drink you off my mind
It's those Honky Tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the Honky Tonk blues
I played a divorcee in New York City
I had to put up some kind of a fight
The lady then all dressed me up in roses
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind
It's those Honky Tonk women
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme the Honky Tonk blues
It's those Honky Tonk women
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme the Honky Tonk blues
It's those Honky Tonk women
Gimme, Gimme, Gimme those Honky Tonk blues
It’s those blues

I knew Bryon Berline an was aware he was on this song. He also sang uncredited backup vocal on original Bob Dylan “Knocking on heavens door” the pic of Bryon and I had a picture on the wall over Bryons left shoulder showing Byron playing out on the sidewalk while recording this Country Honk song. Amazing.

My part on _Country Honk_ wasn't on a regular guitar; it was on one of those cheap little Selmer Hawaiian guitars, which I played on my lap in regular tuning. *_Mick Taylor 1979_*

@punttipate62 Their co-founder, Syd Barrett, died about 50 yrs ago.... Their bass player, Roger Waters, spat the dummy & left the band about 40 yrs ago... & a bit more recently, their amazing synth/keyboard player, Rick Wright also died.... That only leaves the amazing guitatist David Gilmour, & their drummer Nick Mason left as Pink Floyd. They did reunite last year with a song for Ukraine, but aside from that I don't think they want to "get the band back together ".... But I still think they're much better live than the stones...

Fun fact: One of the producers suggested that Berline play the fiddle portion from outside on the sidewalk, but they ended up recording it separately in a different studio. I’m guessing because when he played it from outside it wasn’t picking up on the recording.

... Let it roll... By Dragan Uzelac , 2018.- 2020.

The greatest mistake the Stones ever made was not doing WHATEVER IT TOOK, to keep Mick Taylor in the band. For starters, they could have PAID him. He was given no credits on SEVERAL albums---in other words, no residuals. In addition, his mates should have helped him with drug addiction and got him the help he needed to stay with the band. They did not... With all due respect to Keith Richards---on Mick Taylor's WORSE DAY, Keef couldn't hold a candle to him. Make no mistake, Keith Richards is a very good guitarist. Mick Taylor is a GREAT guitarist. A guitar genius. Right up there with Hendrix, Clapton, and Santana. No doubt about it. The five albums he produced with the Stones from '69-'74 are all classics. The band was never the same after 1974.
