I have a suspicion that maybe Tommy didn't want to use the word 'fiancée' because of its French roots. I listened to Greg Sestero's (the guy who played Mark in The Room) The Disaster Artist audiobook & discovered that foreign words infuriated Tommy & didn't want them used in his movie (chapter 16).

Tommy Wiseau's excellent directorial debut, The Room is a masterpiece and one of the most underappreciated films in the past decade. Every line and scene has so much care and effort put into it that it easily puts many movies that have come out in the past decade to shame. The character writing is outstanding and every line feels genuine and carries much emotional weight. The film features an all star cast, including fantastic actors like Greg Sestero and Juliette Danielle just to name a few. The story is a marvelous feat in story telling, with a complex narrative that will keep you guessing, suspenseful cliff hangers, and a surprising ending (Which is the most emotional ending in all of film). This, and so much more, makes The Room easily the best movie of all time.

The room 2 A young man named Jack moves into the apartment once occupied by Johnny and Lisa. Over the next few days, Jack has nightmares about a strange, long haired ghoul with a foreign accent. Jack learns from his neighbour Denny that the former resident Johnny was a practitioner of voodoo and the dark arts. Denny advises Jack to seek out Father McCartney, as he is the only one in the apartment building who knows how to get rid of poltergeists. Jack goes to McCartney's apartment but finds him dead. Suddenly, Denny lunges at Jack with a knife and the two of them fight. Jack defeats Denny and demands an explanation. Denny tells Jack that he and Johnny were close friends and for years he has been trying to raise Johnny from the dead so they can be together again. Jack begins to feel a strange chill in the air and a twisted smile forms on Denny's face as the rotting corpse of Johnny appears in a cloud of mist and devours Jack.

The parody of the roof-top conversation at the beginning of this video was better than the actual scene...

We have first-hand accounts that this movie has made one of us deathly ill, but we have recovered and found it forever entertaining.

2:12 The real reason for "future wife" is even weirder. Apparently Tommy absolutely despises the French language, and possibly France in general. Supposedly he had some kind of traumatic experience as a kid while living there with relatives.

Gotta say, Chris seemed a lot more jovial ten years ago. Greater responsibilities and age made him more serious but I guess that's life

In the flower shop scene he used the Clark Kent disguise which, as shown in many films, is a perfectly legit and effective disguise.

Your old setup is actually giving me nostalgia, fkg love it!

You legitimately acted the opening so well that I'd assume thats how Tommy originally wanted it to sound like.

Hey Chris. Love your reviews! Never knew anybody from Cleveland and i have a serious question. Is Cleveland as awful as everybody always makes it out to be or is it all just a big joke?
@dugand4311 жыл бұрын
I'm also from Cleveland. Nah, it's not bad. It was hit HARD by the recession, but it's actually getting a lot better. They're building something resembling the Navy Pier in Chicago this year in the Flats.

Every time I hear the beginning of the rooftop scene I put your hilariocity music in the background and expect Nicholas Cage to scream “AAAAGH THEYRE IN MY EYES!” You let this happen Chris.

i know its an old review, but what the hell. never saw this movie. i wasnt prepared for the flower shop scene. i watched the vid while preparing food. my jaw dropped, eyes widened. at the end of the scene, i was in denial for like 20 seconds. then laughing hard. rewatching it. three minutes later, my belly and jaw still hurt. thank you for this.

My favorite part about your reviews is when you get upset. you give 100% honesty and it is all warranted
