19:50 is called combustion bending and is a variation of fire bending, it consists of concentrating energy in the 'third eye', heating the air and defining the path. When this energy is released, it explodes when it touches something solid. But this also causes any touch to the eye during the accumulation of energy to cause uncontrolled explosions and it cannot even be too close to the explosion. It only controls the trajectory and the amount of energy but not the explosion itself.

@@skelitonking117 It is more powerful in explosive power and due to the focus it requires, it ends up being more worthwhile to use combustion more, but like any subbending you can use both, like the beifongs with metal and earth bending or Azula with lightning and fire bending.

Honestly I don't blame them for not considering that the jail cell would have wooden bars. It's the least effective material for a cell meant more for firebenders that break the law than war criminals

1 This means that the people in this small FN town figured out that Toph can metal-bend. 2 That must've been some sort of animal pen that they reused to make a cell.

@@riel4553 I would guess possibly to an extent both. I don't think the townspeople themselves figured out Toph's metalbending (the only scam we saw that might have been metal bending was when she threw the two rods but that could have been sneaky earthbending and every other scam was earthbending) but Combustion Guy might have, and found out about them and set up this trap. In the town's haste to find a cage that wasn't metal they found this wooden cage that very well could have been used to hold animals.

I am sorry for you loss. My mother wasn't very great, either (she had 'issues') but she was still my mom that that will always be a fact. When I grew up, I accepted what she was, and eventually accepted she would have never changed. Once you accept that, it is very freeing.

I lost my dad when I was 11, then I lost my mom a few days before graduation, and just five months ago I've lost my grandma.....I'm almost 24.... Yeah...Losing a parent is very traumatizing...

The next episode is called the puppetmaster. It will come out on Tuesday, 9/17/24. Also, in my opinion, it is a little creepier than most episodes, and hides a dark secret about someone. This was the second encounter with combustion man. That means team avatar will only have only one more encounter with him. And one more thing, at 11:03, I’m an idiot too actually, because when I first watched this show, I also didn’t think about that.

Listen, to anyone who detests Katara’s motherly attitude and label it as one of the many factors why some fans are annoyed by her (not entirely in defense of Toph, but in general), then that means Katara is arguably even better of a character than you might think. Sokka said and implied it himself: those two lost their mother as toddlers, and Katara being placed into that maternal role after their mother died shows that Katara really wanted to be there for everyone, likely so no one suffers a fate as bad as her mother did. Like, yeah, most mothers can be annoying, but often they’re annoying out of love and compassion, and - next to Aang - Katara is arguably the epitome of love and compassion on the team, even to Toph after they fight.

PLEASE READ THIS! I love how much you enjoy both Avatar and Amphibia 2 of my favorite shows ever! It really does hit hard in both cases for Sock and Sprig not only losing a mother but having trouble remember their mothers. I have a really hard working dad and a wonderful mom. Seriously a comment can't describe how close I am with my mom but lets just say I know a lot of people who have great relationships with their moms and really I am not being biased when I say my relationship with my mom is one of if not the best in the world. Just thinking about losing her the way she lost my grandparents is very hard but I litterally can not imagine not being able to remember her. It makes Sprig and Sokka's sittuations even harder! Sniff.. Enough of the tears now there is an interesting detail that we only briefly see in a flashback durring the legend of Kora. When 1 of Toph's 2 daughters got in legal trouble years ago in a flashback Toph was covering for her but she also said "you are going to live with your grandparents" so problem child or not Toph trusted her parents with her own daughter so they did make up. Also you seem to have understood Toph's parents more in this episode than in a previous episode where you were questioning wheater they loved her. There is no doubt that Toph's parents were not the best but they clearly DID care about her. In fact the problem was that they were too overprotective; though that is partially Toph's fault since she litterally spent years pretending she was a helpless little girl similar to how she did in these scams. Really the fauther saying that Toph was going to have guards 24 hours a day from now was probably the only thing that could have qualified as over reacting. When Toph's parents found out the truth that she was constantly putting herself in danger (and breaking the law if this episode is any indication) they had every right to ground her and keep her on a shorter leash. Speaking of the scams I found it interesting how you (at 1st) said it was okay to cheat because this was a Fire Nation place. I was wondering have you been paying attention to this season? Just because someone lives in the Fire Nation doesn't mean they are all bad in fact some people are just as much victims as other nations. But thankfully the 1st guy they dealt with was trash though which makes it less bad but still doing we shouldn't make excuses as this episode shows it starts always starts with just cheating a cheater and then you take smaller and smaller steps towards eventually faking an injury and scaming innoccent people. In really life justifying small steps like that are how some of the worst actions in the world end up happening. I always loved Kattara but this episode really puts into perspective how strong, and mature she is for her age when even her older brother thinks of her as his mom. Which made her giving in to the scam at the end feel weird but I get it she is still a kid to and she wanted to prove that she fit in with the others. It is interesting that you were so quick to be concerned "what if the cage is not metal?" because you need to remember Toph is currently the only metal bender in the world and she only invented it a few weeks ago! Toph could bend metal and we saw that they did pass by a metal cage which they would normally use; Toph could bend earth, and if for some unexpected reason they ended up trapped by ice or living plants then Kattara could free her. Wood (dead dry trees) are litterally the only thing that neither of the girls could bend and it makes no sense that the local Fire Nation jail would have wooden cages when they would need to lock up firebending criminals. Even IF they somehow figured Toph was an earthbender we have seen many times through out the show that metal is the Fire Nation's go to material for earth benders. At 1st glance it should be impossible for the Fire Nation to know metal bending exists but years latter someone finally put all the pieces together. After you finish reacting to Avatar the series PLEASE REACT TO "CABBAGE THEORY BY ALEX BALE" I know it sounds crazy but this is one of the most legit and mind blowing theory videos ever. It addresses several things and portions of the theory have been out right confirmed! I know this was a long comment and I hope everyone who bothered to read it was interested so thanks. Again I know Zamber has already watched Legend of Kora so I would like her to react to Cabbage Theory as soon as she finishs Avatar. Yes, the same Katara that took one thing, inmediatelly ran away and got caught anyway. You're not making the point you think you're making; Katara's not complaining about a single scam, she's pointing out that they don't need extra attention and she's been saying that since they visited Kyoshi Island in book 1.
