Even if Cynthia (somehow) does not complete her EGOT with Wicked, she is destined to do it either way. The scene in the Ozdust Ball says it all… all the small complexities of her face in that moment… and the tears of being brave through shear embarrassment, betrayal and pain… her choices were absolutely perfect. It is a feeling so realistically thought through and relatable. She is an INCREDIBLE actress.

I didnt know much about Cynthia, but since the rumors of Wicked began, I've genuinely been rooting for her! I knew she'd be amazing, something about her beautiful face, told me everything I needed to know. And I must say she didnt disappoint. So many of us Black theater kids feel SEEN.

this is why the public are always the problem, when you watch wicked knowing all these stories within the actors and actresses, you'll notice how great and relateable the story of wicked is, its not about who's wicked or who's good, it's the tale that unfolds is what you all should be focusing on, public pressure, racism, being called different which applies to every color of people and lgbtqia+ people, wicked is an incredible story wrapped around a fantasy themed candy wrapper, we all should take the time, and appreciate the work that everyone put into the movie and actually learn something from the story

Wow you really resume so well all the complexity and emotions that Wicked and the actress passed ❤

The college essay-ness of this video is so cute lol: 21:28 “…they've both used their personal histories to shape their portrayals of Glinda and Elphaba, which led them to experience something known as catharsis. Catharsis refers to the emotional release and healing that comes from expressing or confronting deeply personal pain trauma or grief.”

omg... they're literally glinda & elphaba irl, in the psychological & emotional way 🥺 no wonder glinda was arianas dream role 😭

This video has been recommended for me by youtube since I've been doing my own research on Cynthia Erivo and the Wicked movie. I hesitated to watch this every time this video pops up on my screen. I thought it was gonna be same as other videos mocking and calling them fake. The internet have turned the whole wicked experience into a meme. Thank you for making this video. This is a deep analysis of their trauma bonding and the connection Ariana and Cynthia have with the characters.

@@Toxica_Jade666I really enjoyed the content posted on here, can’t believe it’s been a year, but perhaps they are busy in school, I was just curious, perhaps they don’t have time to narrate themselves and are experimenting with AI. The original narration’s content was excellent analysis, I just can’t listen to ai it feels cold to me.

1:50 Sometimes I still cannot believe this is the same Ariana Grande. Not in a bad way! I also remember my mom & I seeing her sing on Victorious -- we later looked her up on yt, finding her cover of Vienna. We thought wow...this girl is going to go places, she's going to be huge. Then The Way happened. I immediately accepted her as a serious musician because she to me so obviously already was. And I guess that's maybe where she really broke away from the Cat Valentine character for me. Perhaps that's why I see her younger red headed Nickelodeon self & see her now as this incredibly talented woman who's been through so much without being able to connect the two. I don't know if anyone else understands me when I say I cannot comprehend it's the same person but I hope someone out there maybe gets me.

I get you 100%. I've been an Ariana Grande fan since then as well. I immediately took her serious as a musician, that voice alone, was very telling to who she was becoming. 🥹🫶🏽

as a true fan of both artists, an "arianator" as some may say...I so appreciate this video. The time taken to educate people on both women's life experiences and how they intertwined with their roles...I hope this makes their press tour more understandable but if not the video is still much appreciated (:

thanks for being the first positive video about the wicked press tour and a big shout out to the bravery of being publicly emotional! I'm seriously getting sick about all the ugly comments and theories of what have might gone wrong behind the scene for them to be so emotional. screw that! it's just very emotional roles these actresses connect with... so why not show these emotions?
