You favorite Gear Cube? Mine is definitely the barrel!
@taconinjaftw16354 жыл бұрын
I like the pyramid it moves in such complex ways tbh I doubt I could solve one of that caliber as I have yet to solve a 3x3 as sad as that sounds. I'm better with puzzle boxs, locks, and puzzles that have a story to their shape such as the egg that Chris ramsay solved on his channel as an example.

I like both: I enjoy so much when you struggle to break a puzzle, but I think is a good thing your channel has a variety of puzzles, for those who are not as good solving these yet.
@Mr.Puzzle4 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that. While the majority of people are interested in seeing the most difficult puzzles being solved, I am more focused to show the complete bandwidth of puzzles. It's in fact much easier to design an impossible puzzle that is unfair and not solvable as a clever and intriguing solution. Therefore, I show everything that looks interesting to me, independent of the price tag. Since I do not know the solutions before recording the videos sometimes they are solved quickly. For me puzzling is not a completion, I only use the clock in the videos because I know a lot of people are interested in understanding how long it took to solve.

Challenging puzzles are more gratifying, but I do also enjoy puzzles that look nice and are fun to fidget with. That's why Hanayama Puzzles are so good, because they not only look nice and are fun to handle (At least until you get frustrated), they are also at a really good price point and are often very challenging. I have solved 6 out of their 10 "Grandmaster" puzzles and 4 of them seemed nearly impossible to me for a time.

A hint about the gear cube and sphere, they are solved the exact same way (and, because they only do 90 degree turns, they are much easier than the typical Rubik's Cube). The cylinder also looks like it works the exact same as the cube/sphere, but I don't have any experience with it.

I think it's a neat puzzle. You could make a spectrum going from high difficulty to quality and neat. This would deffinetly be far on the neat side but I don't think that the puzzlr is bad for someone starting out with puzzle/problem solving. The only problem is that this is a pretty high standard so it wouldn't really be very suitable for that type of person.

Afaik the Sweta Cross is an easier take on the Aluminium Cross, for a Swiss company (therefore the dark-reddish-brown wooden stand, which you're missing). As you showed a relative easy puzzle, intended as a company gift for non-puzzlers. The gear cubes (and derivates; the ball and cylinder seem to be simple shape-mods, with additional "solutions"), are simpler by nature, as they allow for 180 deg turns only (and only the "simple" gear cubes; there are other gear cubes, which allow for 90 deg turns).
@KCML824 жыл бұрын
the cube, ball and cilinder are all identical in the solve. "just" 3x3 gearcube shapemods
@KCML824 жыл бұрын
i can be mistaken, but I don't think there are any 90deg gearcubes. the edges will be misagligned after a 90deg turn, so no further turns are posibvle
@crypton484 жыл бұрын
KoBo_043 gear cube extreme has some layers which can turn 90 deg. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZaYoZKkmbBjfZo

Yes, I also heard about that. I will for sure also try the Aluminum Cross in the future I I can get it somewhere. However, also the sweta cross is a very well designed puzzle. The additional twist on the classic spinning puzzle I a brilliant and very unusual idea.

Man, those "cubes" at the beginng would be perfect for fidget toys even without any colours... just twisting and turning them every which way... Would you (or anyone else) be as kind as giving me tha name of them? I can't hear them well enough, and your amazon page doesn't seem to have it (yet?) . I'd really appreciate it. Edit: OK, Igot it - "gear cubes" - and as I was coming down here to make this edit to my comment, I saw that you are mentioning them in your top comment... *facepalm* :) - Order placed ;)

When the puzzles are so easy that you can immediately guess the solution, the video suffers because we are watching a "solution" video. You used to do some videos like that, off-camera solve, on-camera step by step. "Live" solves are better
