Thanks so much for your support. A couple of Notes, some people complain my videos are not edited professionally. I'm sorry for that, it's true. I edit them myself and I am learning, it is something I have never done before. I try and improve a bit with each video; as a historian; I hadn't ever thought I'd be editing videos. One day when our channel, (by our, I mean yours and mine) Has enough subscribers, I will hire someone to edit for me, in the mean time I will try to improve as I go. Thanks for understanding, and being patient. I know it can be frustrating. Trust me, it is frustrating for me as well. I want the videos, and pictures to do so many different things, and they simply won't obey. 😂 Also, remember to let me know who you would like to see in the videos, I keep a list of everyone you mention and will make them all one day. I especially like lesser know people which is why I chose to do Thelma over Say Wallis. That isn't to say I might never do a Wallis video, but we all know so much about her, I'd really want to create a new take if I were to create one. Tell her story in a new way. So let me know who you would like. Really, thanks, I never imagined we would get 10 thousand subscribers so fast on just biographies of people. Thanks for sharing my passion. ❤❤❤❤

Thank you for this. I have followed the story of Wallis and Edward for years now. I learned a lot from this video documentary. I didn't realize Thelma's sister was the mother of Gloria Vanderbilt! I never put the two together. I wonder if Wallis and Thelma ever communicated after the marriage to Edward?
@MythicMindScape214 ай бұрын
It seems they did not. If they ever happened to be at overlapping social engagements they would simply make the barest of pleasantries. Edward also stopped communicating entirely with Freda Dudley Ward; though Wallis claims it was his own decision.

A really decent, compact narrative of Thelma's life, and her support of her twin Gloria, mother to Little Gloria. Thelma is considered as a sort of footnote in British History for introducing Wallis Simpson to the future Edward VIII but she was substantially more than that...and it seems the psychologically stronger of the sisters. Without her I doubt if Gloria would have survived that dreadful custody battle for her daughter. She was an innovator.

Has anyone ever noticed how, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife" is probably the most ignored commandment by male royals? Doesn’t seem to matter how much the rest of their country is pinned down by religion, royals have never been troubled by such a bothersome edict. I wonder do they regularly attend Sunday services, and if they do, is it only to pretend piety? I am not a religious person, but I certainly know right from wrong, and stealing another man’s wife falls into the category of seriously wrong. What does it say of human nature that power is such a magnet that apparently anyone will abandon their spouse to get close to it? On a side note, it certainly appears that Wallis did the free world a grand favor by sucking in the weak Edward VIII. He was such an admirer of Hitler that WWII might well have gone entirely differently.

“Loved deeply?!?”….Puh-leez. Thelma Furness never “loved” the Prince of Wales-she loved the access he provided her, the glamour, and the, “Look-at-me-world, I-nabbed-a-Prince” belief system she had, which placed the superficial above the meaningful, and ensured that the rest of her life would be wasted in her quest for vanity…. Utterly selfish, with few redeeming qualities, Thelma Furness’s life is a cautionary tale for those who place greater value on the shallowest aspects of life-while jettisoning anything more meaningful ….

It definitely appears that Kill Cavalry’s granddaughters were mere goddiggers, making no contributions to the family’s wealth, but working hard to use it to advance their lifestyle and position in society. Seems that AC’s mother was the most respectable of his nearest ancestors that I’ve been able to read about. Gloria and Thelma were identical so, if Gloria was considered beautiful, Thelma must have been striking, too.
