The line of " All things have their price” referring to the Emperor's human sentiment still ebbing is striking to me. It implies he might have had a chance to rid himself of his humanity but didn't. That's a powerful thought and insight into The Emperor and why he clings to his view that he's Human.

I absolutely love the idea that the Emperor’s greatest struggle of all, is his struggle to hold on to his identity as a human. That maybe he held the imperial truth not out of hate for religion but out of a desire to be seen as what humanity could become and that he is human. He is almost desperate to hold onto it and I believe I heard somewhere (I am no expert at all) that he actually has some jealousy of Vulcan for being so human.

It's such a tantalising line. In context, it implies the Emperor had to sacrifice some of his own humanity to imbue the primarchs with theirs. That would in turn suggest that the theory the primarchs are pre-existing Warp entities given super-bodies is wrong, and they are shards of the Emperor. But it could be supposed to refer to the bargain at Molech which gave the Emperor increased power - or it could be something else entirely. All it proves is that until fairly recently (as of M31) the Emperor seemed less aloof and godlike and more 'normal'. I would love to see that depicted!

3 minds exceptional beyond belief. They had their counsel. There was no need to lie. Valdor is starting to speak his mind which the emperor knew would happen. Malcador is his chosen. Their relationship eclipses all others. Even to be in his presence without the phsyic enslaught would of broken all men and women. He found a capable master in malcador and blossomed into a friendship none would ever hold with him. Chaos would of seen the ways of the future. If they didn't combine strengths, lay doubt in the minds of weaker souls they truely would have felt fear. As for what happene, it happened. We just don't know the contingency plans that the emperor had. He had plans on top of plans. Obviously he would had kept some to himself as malcador would of. The trust they had conquered the chaos consuming them. Let's not forget how powerful malcador is. A model is definitely worth considering GW. One of my fav characters as is valdor. Peace

My thoughts on the scattering and the nature of the Primarchs are this: I believe that the Emporer saw a variety of possibilities of where things could happen and hedged his bets in various ways. By this I mean that i think he saw that a Scattering was a possiblity if unlikely. Its also possible it could have been likely to happen, but he only had vague details of how given the unreliability of divination (not unknown when dealing with divination in setting, particularly given we know he isnt omnipotent). Its also a possibility that he might have seen from such a Scattering the possible places the Primarchs might end up, both with and without his intervention. Even if not that specific, if he knew the general idea of which pairs (Sanguinious and Konrad for instance) could likely end up on certain worlds, rather then specifically each and everyone that might be enough to have him preempt such an event. I think this could serve as an explanation as to why the Primarchs ended up upon the worlds they did, particularly if he intervened and nudged things from where Chaos intended to send them originally. It would also explain why almost all the worlds seemed to favor the inborn talents of their respective Primarchs, especially ones like Russ. That said, as we know the Emporer and Malcador knew some would turn but idk if they knew which ones percisely. I would put foward that the Primarchs inclinations in how they wage war, (Siege/Espionage/Etc) might also be because of this uncertainty. It would help mitigate worst case scenarios by building in a layer of redunancy in case one of a 'pair' of Primarchs went rogue or died, the former meaning that you might still have an expert in that particular field available to draw upon and possibly counter the other, and the latter to replace if needed. Note: This is all theorycraft based on my limited understanding of the setting, and counter evidence/theories probably exist so take everything with that in mind.

Of course purely speculations: the scattering might just be part of the bargain the Emperor made with the big Four. As in, you [chaos gods] give me enough power to complete my pet project, and you [chaos gods] can try and get them (or some) for yourselves. Also, the retrieval of the lost sons make a perfect excuse to launch the crusade sooner than planned. Anyway, keep up the good work !

Interesting theory, but he absolutely despises chaos and they loathe him too. I don't think they could've ever struck a deal, he more likely stole their power like Horus says during the Horus Heresy trailer.

Spoiler for the End and the Death part 3 : at the end of the duel between Horus and the Emperor, the Emperor disguised as Loken talks Horus into releasing his grasp on it’s Chaos infused warp power. It’s the first time we actually have the Emperor directly talking to someone and he goes on to talk about His reasoning and plans in the third person as being disguised as Loken justifying His actions. How honest was He to Horus and what can we learn from this conversation ?

@thekoalawasbrown I disagree. I believe that Malcador was in fact on the same level as Magnus in raw psychic power. The difference was that Magnus was a Primarch and was specifically designed to have a level of durability which Malcador who was a regular human body did not have. Remember Malcador was able to sit on The Golden Throne and control it. He had the psychic power to hold back Chaos just as The Emperor did and Magnus was intended to. Malcador's normal human body was burned out because it was never intended to have the durability of a Primarch.

Valdor was not a person but a thing; only after he decided to leave the Imperium did he obtain his humanity. He was a product of a factory of superhuman soldiers with fabricated traits such as loyalty and whatnot.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust anything that comes from Malcador - even if it's the truth. To quote William Blake "A truth that's told with bad intent / Beats all the lies you can invent." Malcador has a plan. An Agenda. One that has always been to support the Emperor and his plan, in the ways Malcador feels is best at the moment. As for this being evidence that the Scattering was NOT allowed by the Emperor, it is not conclusive in any way, shape or form. It can be interpreted that way - but it can also be interpreted as the Emperor having second thoughts about his plan (whatever that plan may be - I like the theory that he WANTED the Primarchs scattered as a way to both give them experiences he could never give them (Robute, Rogal, Sanguinius, Fulgrim and Corax being some of the best examples of this working well, with Angron, Lorgar, Mortarion Omegon and Conrad being examples of "Whoopsie Daisy...", and the rest being somewhere in the middle) and to give him an understandable motivation to expand his galactic imperium so quickly, and so allowed Chaos to scatter them as part of the bargain he struck with them for the power to create them.) and thinking that he COULD actually raise them as well himself. In either case, I do believe this could be definitive proof that the Emperor saw the Primarchs as Tools first and foremost, but, perhaps against his better judgement, had also come to see them as human beings. As Sons, to some degree. I would not be surprised if the Emperor had used his abilities to peek into the minds of the Primarchs as they developed (Magnus pretty much confirms this happened with him, I believe?), had let himself see possible futures for each of them, and that had begun the turning of them from Tools into Sons. But the board was set already, and he couldn't change the deal, he could only try to play out the game as best he could.

It doesn't state for sure if they kept their original Primarchs Gene Seed or if it was replaced by Gene Seed of their new adoptive fathers. I am inclined to believe that they did in fact keep the Gene Seed of the 2nd and 11th because when you look at some of the chapters of Ultramarine successors some of them really make you question how they could be spawn of Gulliman. That same issue comes up with Fists successor chapters as well. Some of them certainly don't give off Dorn vibes. They probably don't even know the truth themselves. We know for a fact the Imperium still has Gene Seed for all 20 Primarchs and can still make more for all 20 because Cawl has been trying to talk Gulliman into giving him permission to go into full production of all 20 blood lines. Of course Cawl has already crossed that Rubicon secretly but just hasn't admitted it publicly. And of course Gulliman would not be Gulliman if he didn't already know that Cawl has disobeyed him and done it anyway. Cawl is just too valuable to Gulliman right now for him to dispose of Cawl. As long as Cawl stays useful to Gulliman he has nothing to worry about.

@@patrickjanecke5894 There's probably a specific type of person who would willingly give their life for "the cause" who would balk at other things. For example, if the bargain of Molech was giving half the primarchs to Chaos (not proven but a popular fan theory) then I could definitely see the Emperor lie about that to Malcador. Even if Malcador didn't care, perhaps it would be good that he didn't know so he couldn't accidentally tip off any of the primarchs through his actions. They were all supposed to be extremely perceptive, after all. I do agree with the video that neither the big E nor Malcador probably lied to Valdor though. Why would they? The guy is physically incapable of betrayal at this point.
