20 studies done on saccharin. 19 studies found no adverse effects, 1 study found instances of bladder cancer (in rats that were already predisposed to bladder cancer). This study is the one everyone references when talking about saccharin because all the others yielded nothing of consequence. Saccharin is now banned in numerous countries. Yessssss yes yes yes yes. This is EXACTLY why I subscribed to your channel and your content is EXACTLY what not only the fitness KZbin community needs but also the general world population needs. So few people can access academic libraries/journals, let alone know how to interpret the literature. We are living in a dangerous world of sensationalized pseudoscience and having someone with your education and charisma creating an easy, tangible way for laypeople to understand the literature is IMPERATIVE to our well being as a society. I don’t even think I can fully articulate just how essential this kind of content is - I know some other fitness KZbinrs venture into things like this but it’s fairly obvious that they don’t have the same understanding of the research method that you do (though I commend their effort.) I would love to see you address topics like gwenyth Paltrow’s brand “goop” - not directly fitness related but primarily women’s health related. I’d also love to see you talk about things like crystal healing but I guess that might offend some people lol.

If you consume them with abandon, then I’d agree it could spell disaster for the gut microbiome...but this is the kind of fear mongering that exacerbates false narratives around artificial sweeteners. As with anything: moderation is key. Sugar will fuck with your gut microbiome just as much, and is a primary fuel for cancers. 10:48 It should be noted that in powdered form, these sweeteners are often mixed with either dextrose or maltodextrin to increase bulk. Both are caloric sugars like sucrose. The 'zero calories' labeling is due to the FDA allowing servings less than one gram and under 4 calories to be labeled “zero calories". Try to get your artificial sweeteners in liquid form or as a pure powder.

There is a extremely strong correlation between caffeine and anxiety symptoms. I would highly recommend lowering your caffeine intake (or other similar compounds found in pre workout) if you suffer from anxiety :)

It will trigger your anxiety since caffeine is a cns stressor. Usually when someone is anxious they had developed a anxious way of thinking that taxes the cns in a negative way or they live a stressful lifestyle also stressing the cns in a negative way could be a big life change or genetics etc. What I would recommend is stimulating the cns in a positive way as much you can to balance it out. Changing the way you think more positively, meditation, more sleep, staying away from life stressors as much you can, eating to heal the gut bacteria, breathing correctly, practice being mindful, lifting in a way that your cns is able to recover and adapt stronger etc. also once your cns is able to handle caffeine without too much anxiety your tolerance will go up. Just keep moderation in mind and remember anxiety is a normal hormone and everything is going to be okay
