Not only did Joseph not write it down, but nobody else did either. You would think he would have talked about the vision and somebody would have documented his story. The most logical explanation is that he created it when it was convenient.

What's most suspicious is that he only reported it when it benefitted his book.

Sneaky sneaky. I watch those guys and it's just a gas lantern factory. "You'd use some logic but are we really sure that logic is apropos for logically thinking about spiritual things? Bam. Inference checkmate atheists"

Personally, I think of Mormons as a cult anyway, because they go more by The Book of Mormon which is all from one person pretty much, and say that the Bible is second to the book of mormon. I'm sorry, but as a Christian I can never believe that, and never will. There's too much that points against that. Too many questionable ways that the Book of Mormon came about.

He wrote about it in his own handwriting in 1832. That would be 12 years later. He said he didnt see 2 personages but only 1. Then in 1838 it becomes 2 personages. Seriously. What's the big deal? 1 or 2? I mean it's pretty close right? If 4-5 then it would be suspicious. Give Joseph a break!😮

Actually back then people usually wrote about life experiences towards the later end of life memoirs so it makes sense.

The only question that really matters is "does this tell us what actually happened." In 1832 he was 27, had written the Book of Mormon, commanded to keep records, had done the Joseph Smith translation, and most of the book of commandments. He literally only had to write "I saw god and Jesus Christ who both had flesh and bone" literally anytime. He didn't. He wrote down all that other stuff (or had people write what he spoke) But he didn't write that. He didn't write that he saw "two personages" until he was 30 years old. Either it wasn't important to him, or it simply wasn't that important of an event. Either way, to canonize it in 1880, is whole-cloth propaganda.
